Talon nodded goodbye to Morgan and then shut the door behind him as he returned to his office. He took a deep breath and walked back to his desk, and ran a hand across its surface before taking his seat. The minute he'd sat down, Draven began to try and justify his lover's actions, trying desperately to take all the blame for himself. The Headmaster planted his elbows on his desk and cradled his chin between his hands, his sapphire eyes watching the two of them silently even after the student had finished his attempts at defense.
Then 'Zeph' began to speak, not nearly as hurried as the former, but attempting to put all of the blame on himself instead. Talon could've laughed at how the two argued back and forth at each other, if he didn't feel like it would be very unprofessional of him. After the two had finished speaking, he put his hands down on his desk. He stared at both of them neutrally, and opened his mouth to speak, "before we can discuss any form of proper punishment, if that is even necessary, I would like to have your full names, houses, and years." He added on, "I'm afraid I don't have any information on the both of you, as I haven't looked over any recent enrollments or transfer applications, and both of you must have arrived relatively recently."DERP!
"Draven, be reasonable. It's obvious that I should've known better."
Draven rolled his eyes. Yeah, Zeph should have known better, but he should have known better as well. "Zephyrus, be reasonable." he mocked without looking at his partner, "It's obvious that I had my shirt off." It was no mystery to Draven that his boyfriend loved that pale skin and scrawny body.
"Before we can discuss any form of proper punishment, if that is even necessary, I would like to have your full names, houses, and years. I'm afraid I don't have any information on the both of you, as I haven't looked over any recent enrollments or transfer applications, and both of you must have arrived relatively recently."
If it was necessary? As in they might get off scot-free? Well no, not really. They would forever carry the humiliation of a female professor seeing them about to do the nasty. But it seemed that the Headmaster might decide that was enough to prevent a recurrence of this incident. That made Draven feel a little better. Not one-hundred percent, because his future was still uncertain, but good enough for the moment.
"Zephyrus, be reasonable. It's obvious that I had my shirt off."
Zeph scoffed.
"Before we can discuss any form of proper punishment, if that is even necessary, I would like to have your full names, houses, and years. I'm afraid I don't have any information on the both of you, as I haven't looked over any recent enrollments or transfer applications, and both of you must have arrived relatively recently."
Wait, what? They might not get into trouble? He guessed that the embarrassment of being seen like that was probably enough.

Despite his best attempts at upholding a neutral, professional expression, the Headmaster couldn't help but pale a little in horror at Draven saying that he was a first year. He certainly didn't look or act like any eleven year old he'd ever met. Perhaps he'd merely received his letter too late...yes, that had to be it. Because if he were eleven, well...there'd be far more serious repercussions necessary for a fourth year fooling around with a child.
(ooc: in other words this is a good time to change Draven's canon age.)
"I see that neither of you have reached the fifth year yet," Talon said, composing himself, "and yet you seem to be focusing more on one another than on your lessons. These are the years that count the most, you two." Well they certainly didn't fail to exemplify the traits of their houses, what with Zephyrus desperately trying to play martyr and his lover, who we could only hope was older than his year, trying to take all the blame out of loyalty.
"I suppose you don't need me to tell you that you are both far too young for the sort of thing you've been caught doing," Talon said with dullness in his voice, "I've been informed that's the sort of thing I'm supposed to say. Truthfully, I don't believe there is such thing as too young just as much as it'd be ridiculous to say you can be too old. But it does stand that you are in an environment for education, designed for the purpose of learning, and your...extracurriculars do not benefit your fellow students and are easily distracting."
The Headmaster carried on, though his voice became less informal and far more serious as he drifted into the next subject, "were I a more conservative wizard, I'd have you both expelled for this. A more moderate one would do as Chloe suggested - letters home and detention for a year. Were I of the sort to believe that any of that had any credence, I'd send you off with Professor Pendragon to help sort her notes." He kept his hands folded over each other on the edge of his desk as he spoke, his eyes fixed on both of them all the while.
"I don't believe punishment is what you need," Talon said, "what I believe you need is discipline. And an understanding of the power that both of you possess, that both of you are neglecting to strengthen, despite the fact that that is the entire reason you have enrolled at this University to begin with. If both of you seem to believe that you are willing to be adult enough to do the things you do, then you shall prove it to me by the end of this month."
After that, the wizard sat back and opened one of his drawers. He removed a piece of parchment from it and set it down on the surface of his desk. After that, he reached into his robes and pulled out a lengthy black wand that seemed to be burned at the edges, and words began to appear on the parchment as he muttered to himself. He then picked up the wand and handed it out to them, his eyes still very serious.
"This is a list of five spells, all of differing difficulty, that I require you to study and learn in detail over the course of the next month. You may ask Professor Pendragon for assistance if you need help. In addition, you will both be attending private tutoring sessions in Transfiguration with me every Saturday. I will accept nothing but a life-threatening excuse for failure to attend, and even in that situation I recommend you come to me anyhow, as I am perhaps the best wizard in this school to have with you in a life-threatening situation."
Talon gave them both a moment to process what he had just said, and then finished with, "if you fail to attend without a proper excuse, or do not have these skills studied and memorized by the end of this month, you will both be expelled."
bic: "I see that neither of you have reached the fifth year yet, and yet you seem to be focusing more on one another than on your lessons. These are the years that count the most, you two."
Draven bit his lip, blushing a bit as he looked at Zeph from the corner of his eye. It was true, ever since he'd met the Gryffindor his focus had practically gone out the window. The once diligent student had become distracted with thoughts about his boyfriend. He didn't say anything in his defense: the Headmaster was completely right.
"I suppose you don't need me to tell you that you are both far too young for the sort of thing you've been caught doing. I've been informed that's the sort of thing I'm supposed to say. Truthfully, I don't believe there is such thing as too young just as much as it'd be ridiculous to say you can be too old. But it does stand that you are in an environment for education, designed for the purpose of learning, and your...extracurriculars do not benefit your fellow students and are easily distracting."
The pink on his cheeks got a bit deeper, turning into a pale crimson. Extracurriculars. Right.
"Were I a more conservative wizard, I'd have you both expelled for this. A more moderate one would do as Chloe suggested - letters home and detention for a year. Were I of the sort to believe that any of that had any credence, I'd send you off with Professor Pendragon to help sort her notes."
Eek. He was glad the Headmaster wasn't more conservative.
"I don't believe punishment is what you need. What I believe you need is discipline.
Draven nodded. That was fair, and it sounded easy enough. He gave Zeph a hopeful look as Talon began to write something on a bit of parchment. He was feeling good about this, and that didn't change when he was shown what the Headmaster had written down. He recognized one of the spells right away: Zeph had taught him that one.
He nodded again. It wasn't like he was going to get his chest caved in any time soon. (ooc: Oh, why that does indeed tickle my fancy!) He could manage memorizing five spells and attending a class each Saturday. Heck, he'd enjoy it!
"If you fail to attend without a proper excuse, or do not have these skills studied and memorized by the end of this month, you will both be expelled."
Of course there was an "or else." There was always an "or else." Though he was beginning to feel a bit like a bobblehead, Draven nodded again. It seemed like the proper thing to do. "Understood, sir."
He just had to forget about the potential consequence of failing and this would be a snap.

"I see that neither of you have reached the fifth year yet, and yet you seem to be focusing more on one another than on your lessons. These are the years that count the most, you two."
...Zeph wasn't going to deny it. He'd been way more focused on making Draven happy than with his work.
Zeph nodded, understanding.
"Were I a more conservative wizard, I'd have you both expelled for this. A more moderate one would do as Chloe suggested - letters home and detention for a year. Were I of the sort to believe that any of that had any credence, I'd send you off with Professor Pendragon to help sort her notes."
He swallowed, bracing himself.
"I don't believe punishment is what you need. What I believe you need is discipline.
That made perfect sense. Zeph was beginning to like this guy.
He saw the list and almost smiled. He'd taught Draven one of those spells.
Aw, not Saturdays...oh well. He nodded. Every Rose has it's thorns, he thought.
"If you fail to attend without a proper excuse, or do not have these skills studied and memorized by the end of this month, you will both be expelled."
"Understood, sir."
"Yessir. I understand."
He wasn't sure what was going to happen during those private sessions, and he had no clue how difficult some of those spells were to learn, but he was going to do as the Headmaster said.
He wanted to stay here at this school, and he wanted Draven to, too.

Both boys seemed very well aware of the trouble they were in and the path they needed to take in order to get out. Talon gave them both a look over, and then softened his expression. "Alright then," he said, his voice lighter than it had been before, "get to work, both of you. I'll see you on Saturday."
