Having young men following her was something that Chloe was used to. Having two underage boys following her because they were caught making out and naked doing inappropriate things in a bathroom was not. Even Chloe, who was about as promiscuous as you could safely be, had not started doing what they were doing as young as they were. The whole incident deeply disturbed the woman who despite appearing to be carefree around the students actually cared about how they were taken care of. And that was why she was dragging two boys, one very angry and one very sullen, to the Headmaster for a very stern talk.
Climbing staircases and turning a couple hallways put them in front of his office. Chloe wasn’t really in the mood for pleasantries with the Phoenix that guarded Talon’s door. She was unusually curt with it. “Hello, Good Evening, whatever you would like. I need to speak to Headmaster Talon Windwaltz regarding a disciplinary issue if you please.” If Talon wasn’t in she’d punish the boys herself. It was high time someone around this school put their foot down on mischief and looked after the welfare of these children. They were entrusted to them after all for care.
She glanced a glare down at Draven and Zeph, shaking her head. They had been wise to just follow her without resistance from the bathroom, hopefully they were going to continue this streak of being smart.
Draven had been silent the whole trip down. Shocking, considering he was usually a nervous chatterbox, but there it was. He was at a loss for words, or rather didn't think it appropriate to say anything. Instead he followed behind Professor Vablatsky and formulated a plan in his head.
Zephyrus was not allowed to take the blame for this one. This had all happened because of Draven. Draven had kissed him, Draven had followed him to the bathroom, Draven had taken his shirt off, Draven had said he was okay with it. Draven. Not Zephyrus. So Draven had every intention of speaking up the moment he had the chance. He knew Zeph would try and take the blame, since that's what people with hero complexes did. The Hufflepuff wasn't going to give him that opportunity.
“Hello, Good Evening, whatever you would like. I need to speak to Headmaster Talon Windwaltz regarding a disciplinary issue if you please.”
She was still mad. Lovely. Draven looked at Zeph for the first time since leaving the bathroom, his brow furrowed. "Not a word from you," he mouthed.
“Hello, Good Evening, whatever you would like. I need to speak to Headmaster Talon Windwaltz regarding a disciplinary issue if you please.”
They'd been walking down the hall for a while now, and Zeph had been sneaking glances at Draven, despite the other seemingly not paying attention. Suddenly, the other boy looked over at him and mouthed "Not a word from you,".
Zeph grimaced and mouthed back, "What if they tell our parents? I'd rather be waist-deep in trouble then have you sent to Australia, you goof."
He swallowed hard. His anger was only rivaled by his worry. What if they did say something to their parents? He knew his mother would be delighted that he had a 'friend', but his father might not be too pleased. And Draven's father...
He decided to not think about that.
And take all the blame. Why? Because it was the Gryffindor way. And, well, he didn't want to his best friend to have to 'move'.
"Please...let me handle this." He mouthed to his boyfriend. "I love you, and I'm not letting that happen to you. I don't want to be the reason two people die. One's bad enough."
"What if they tell our parents? I'd rather be waist-deep in trouble then have you sent to Australia, you goof."
Well...Zeph did have a point there. Draven wasn't keen on having his dad find out he was gay, especially not like this. But punishments were pretty steep for people who took advantage of younger kids, even if said younger kids were as willing as himself to be taken advantage of. Something about the brain not being developed enough for good judgment or some bullshit. Draven was plenty old enough for good judgment.
"Please...let me handle this. I love you, and I'm not letting that happen to you. I don't want to be the reason two people die. One's bad enough."
Draven sighed quietly. Zeph sure knew how to make a compelling argument, but still...Draven didn't want him taking the blame for this. It wasn't his fault. At all. Not even a little bit. It had all been Draven and his insatiable need to take care of everyone. It was that very need that was now compelling him to take the blame for all this. He closed his eyes and sighed again. "I'll try and dissuade them from telling my parents," he murmured.

There was something strange about Firefox University. And not just that for a school in the middle of magical Spain they had a lot of British and American students, but few Spanish ones. Morgan had grown used to the Spanish breed of wizard, who, true to form, preferred to educate their children themselves, rather than lock up them up with several dozen other hormonal and emotional adolescents all with the potential to do powerful--or at least damaging--magic. Perhaps it was a wiser course of action, in the end. Certainly, home-taught wizards would never have this particular brand of trouble.
No, the strange thing about Firefox was its staff. Not just that Talon hired Lycans, Veela, and even someone with faerie blood in her ancestry. That they were mostly academics, and were sometimes apt to go on research trips, magi-archaeological digs, symposiums, and the like at the drop of the hat, even during the middle of term were what really left the school in a bind at times. It was hard telling who, on any given day, would be at the school, or in Peru examining the place where a ancient wizard colony had existed, or chasing down leads (so they could finally finish that second book they'd been meaning to write) across three continents. Morgan herself had been rather absent lately, but had just returned from her own trip investigating magical qualities of plants found in the Amazon River Basin. Though she was Charms professor, and a decent one, if she said so herself, her true love was herbology. She'd already written two books on the subject, and was working on a third.
She had just been on her way to let Talon know that she'd returned (Morgan preferred face to face conversations over sending owls, or, in her case, Mondleid), when she saw the divinations teacher with two young boys in tow. "Good Evening, Professor Vablatsky," she said cordially. "I see we've got some young troublemakers. I'm not certain the headmaster is in. Can I be of assistance?"

Talon couldn't remember the last time he'd left Firefox. It had been so many years ago now, he must've been nineteen or twenty, right around the Shadow War, and so much time had passed since then that all of his memories were taken up with tomes worth of information and long days spent sifting through paperwork. If the Headmaster hadn't learned enough about magic during his time in school, he was always learning more as an educator. He supposed it was true that common saying about 'teacher' being another word for 'student for life.'
Just not in the way they often meant it.
Regardless, his staff wasn't the same way. Granted, most of the others on the board were considerably younger than him, and when he was that age he didn't like to stay in one place either. 'When I was that age...' Talon reflected, and then laughed. He was twenty four years old. In a couple of months he'd be twenty five. The first year that most people his age even considered themselves 'adults in the adult world.' And he'd been saying that mantra of the old curmudgeon, 'when I was your age,' since he'd been eighteen.
It had been about a decade since he'd last felt his own age. Since he'd last had the zest for adventure and passion that youth brought. He'd been ready to sit in a lofty tower with a beard twice his size for most of his life. That, however, might also have come from people's expectations over the past five years as well. When parents thought 'Headmaster' they didn't exactly think of a man hardly older than their kids. The fact that he had dedicated his life to studying things Mom and Dad were too busy to learn themselves was the only reason they kept sending their kids to him.
Talon turned his thoughts back to his disappearing staff. He'd at least received a letter from Morgan saying that she was going on some sort of expedition and that she'd be back soon. Come to think of it, Sylph wasn't even back yet. He hadn't really thought on the subject much, but it began to worry him. How long had that woman been in Egypt? Perhaps she had run into some kind of danger? He figured it might be safe to send a message by her soon. Unlike Sylph, however, he'd just received Morgan's return message, and that she'd be in to visit him when she arrived at school grounds.
And it seemed like she had arrived. Or a whole entourage, it seemed, as he heard Chloe's familiar voice along with Morgan's beyond his door. The Phoenix had moved aside, but Talon could tell that the whole group out there couldn't possibly fit into his closed, cramped office, so he got up and walked to the door himself. He poked his head out the door, his sapphire eyes in his relatively pale face looking from person to person with interest.
"Ah! Morgan!" Talon said, smiling, "so you've gotten back then. Good to see you." He then turned his head to see Chloe standing, resplendent as ever, with an expression of unamusement on her peerless features. Next to her were two young men - well, one young man and a very young boy - who looked about as ashamed as ever. "Hello Chloe, always charming to see you as well," he said affably, and added, "but who are these two young men you have with you? If they are students, I don't believe I've been introduced-" that was quite odd, Talon thought. He usually knew everybody at the school on a last name basis. He must've been slipping- "are they your newest admirers?"

{New job and a perpetual sickness that I can't shake, sorry bout that}
Hearing the two children murmuring behind her coming up with some plan Chloe shot a death glare with her stormy grey eyes at the two. Hopefully that would be enough to shut them up. About to talk to the Phoenix again she turned as another Professor came walking up to the group. This could get frustrating as not all females got along with Chloe very well, though the Divinations Professor did her best to get along with her co-workers. “I may ask for your assistance if I cannot get a hold of Professor Windwaltz. What I caught these boys doing may require more creative punishment than I can come up with on my own.” There was that edge to her voice that wasn’t usually there.
Fortunately for the boys (because they didn’t want to know how clever Chloe would get) Talon was in and stepped out of his office. “Hello Headmaster, it’s good to see you too but I wish it wasn’t under these circumstances.” The regal woman put her hands on her hips and dove into it. No use wasting time and letting the Headmaster think these boys were something as innocent as her admirers.
“I caught these very young children lewd acts in one of the bathrooms. Half naked, naked, lips locked.” She spoke with her hands as frustrating seeped out of her voice. “Honestly Headmaster something needs to be done, this isn’t the first time I’ve gotten vibes of this sort from the school though this is the first time I’ve caught students so young going at it. I figured I would bring them both to you to handle this situation because I’m not sure I teach the lesson appropriately.” And by appropriately Chloe meant with as little scarring as possible. She herself was quite promiscuous and knew how to punish someone in a way to inhibit their love life in a way they’d never forget why.
“At the very least I suggest letters home and detentions, but I would like to direct to your guidance in this matter. Both of yours actually, since Professor Pendragon is here there’s no reason she can’t be informed and help.” She gestured at Morgan. It was a great thing to have a Professor returning to the school. The students were running amuck and goodness it was giving Chloe a headache from having to See it as often as she did.
It wasn't long after the arrival of another female professor, then the Headmaster, that Professor Vablatsky gave her end of the story. Her choice of words made Draven go a bit pale, but he couldn't exactly say she was lying. She was telling the complete truth. They had been making out with little to no clothes on. The thing that really got him, though, was when she suggested letters home. It took him biting down hard on his lip to prevent him from hollering in protest. When she was done, though, he immediately spoke up. Like hell he was going to give Zeph a chance to incriminate himself.
"It's my fault Headmaster." he said with hardly any spacing between the words. He continued without pause, not giving Zeph any space to get a word in. If Zeph spoke up, the two of them would be talking over each other. "See, we were in the library at first, and we got into an argument, and then Zeph got sick, and then we apologized and then he had a personal issue and he said he was going to go to the bathroom to take care of it and I should have just let him go but I was worried because he'd just been sick so I followed him to make sure he got there alright. Then when I got there I felt it might be a good idea to get the ink off my shirt--I spilled a bit on it, see. Right there." He pointed at the faded splotch. "So I took off my shirt and I was doing that and then he came out of one of the stalls and saw me without my shirt and well we're really close and he said he needed my help so I helped him get his pants off and well Professor Vablatsky told you the rest."
Draven paused finally to catch his breath, eyes still focused on the Headmaster. As soon as he had enough air to speak again, he repeated his previous statement, elaborating on it. "It's my fault. I should have stayed in the library. None of this would have happened if I had stayed there. I probably caused Zeph's issue in the first place too, so there you have it."

Letters home? Okay, it's not like his own parents would care too too much, but Draven's...
His father.
His fucking father.
Zeph's heart sunk.
"It's my fault Headmaster." Draven, no! You idiot! Zeph wanted to scream, but kept his mouth shut. Zeph's heart sunk even further. OHHELLTHEFUCKNO was Draven taking all the blame.
Or any of it for that matter.
"Headmaster, he's a little feverish from wearing that wet shirt. It's my fault. I...I forced myself on him. I couldn't control myself, sir. Well, I could, but I've had this huge crush on him for so long, and I didn't want to stop myself. I...I was being thoughtless and selfish. Please, it's not his fault. Please don't send a letter home to his parents..it won't happen again. I'll try harder to control my urges, I'll scrub the floors with a toothpick that has a hair on it, anything! It's not his fault..."
He lied. It came easy for him in times like this. But he always kept his word. He'd never intentionally force Draven into anything anyways, so he wasn't exactly lying about that.
He didn't want Draven to get into trouble. Even if Zeph was put on the potential sex offender list. He wanted Draven. He wanted him alive. He wanted him safe, goddammit!
Please believe me, he thought, swallowing hard.
"You understand, don't you? What it's like to be young and stupid and impulsive?"

Morgan was a new professor, and an alum of Firefox University. So, it was not so very long ago that she was walking these same halls, albeit as a prefect and quidditch captain (and therefore, not much for getting into trouble), so she could certainly relate to these two. "Professor, If I may respectfully disagree to a small degree, I would like to point out that these two seem genuinely regretful of their actions. Perhaps we can leave their parents out of it? After all, their parents entrusted them to our care, and writing home over something so small as a crush gotten out of hand seems unnecessary." Her eyes slid from the faces of her colleagues to the young 'miscreants'.
"Do not misunderstand me, gentlemen. This does not mean that I am condoning your actions. What you did was inappropriate at school, and you are both old enough to know better, and so I do not think you should be completely unpunished." She looked at the other professors again. "Separate detentions seem like the best course of action in my opinion. I have rather a lot of research notes to go through from my trip, and so, I could certainly find something for one of these gentlemen to do. That is, of course, if you agree."

ooc: Go ahead and post after me, Draven. Chloe doesn't want to post again.
Talon listened to both of the boys talking over each other with a bit of tension rising up within him. This was...rather awkward for him, to say the least. The two had been playing around in the bathroom together, and now they were being brought to him for justice? This seemed more like the duty of a prefect than the Headmaster, who usually accepted matters of dark wizards and monster attacks in the local area. Having to pass judgment on a matter of impulse, on the other hand, was not something he had to deal with everyday.
Or ever, really. This might have been his first ever case.
On the judge's end, anyhow. He reflected fondly on his own youth, and how he'd found himself in a similar situation - although much less extreme - when he'd been caught in the Prefect's bathroom with his first girlfriend, making a very poor example for the younger students. Not that he'd minded much then...and was it really his place to mind as much now? He supposed he had to, but it was becoming very difficult to make any big decisions with Chloe and Morgan both chiming in with their own forms of punishment while the two boys sweat oceans in horror.
After a moment's pause, Talon addressed both Professors politely. "Thank you, Chloe, for bringing this matter to my attention. I shall see to it further in my office. But if you don't mind, Professors, I would like to settle this matter myself." He opened the door to his office further and motioned for the two boys to enter, "Draven...Zeph..." he wasn't used to referring to his students by their first names, but he couldn't remember any files on either of them, "if you'd please take a seat, we can discuss this further."
Of course Zeph tried to convince everyone that Draven was lying. He'd known that would happen. It didn't make him look any less indignant over being called feverish though. "If anyone's feverish here, it's Zeph! He's the one that got sick not even an hour ago. I'd wager dehydration's got him confused. Do I look like a person who's had someone forced on them?" He was perfectly willing to take off his shirt and show them how many red marks and bruises he didn't have. There hadn't been any resistance to Zeph's advances.
"Professor, If I may respectfully disagree to a small degree, I would like to point out that these two seem genuinely regretful of their actions. Perhaps we can leave their parents out of it? After all, their parents entrusted them to our care, and writing home over something so small as a crush gotten out of hand seems unnecessary."
Ooooooh, he liked her. Frankly he was alright with whatever punishment was cooked up for him, so long as his parents didn't catch wind of any of this.
"Do not misunderstand me, gentlemen. This does not mean that I am condoning your actions. What you did was inappropriate at school, and you are both old enough to know better, and so I do not think you should be completely unpunished."
The comment didn't make Draven like Professor Pendragon any less. She was still shaping up to be a billion times more understanding than Professor Vablatsky.
"Separate detentions seem like the best course of action in my opinion. I have rather a lot of research notes to go through from my trip, and so, I could certainly find something for one of these gentlemen to do. That is, of course, if you agree."
Okay that actually sounded like fun. Helping a professor go through research notes? Sweet. Draven would hide his excitement over such a punishment, of course. It wasn't supposed to be fun, so if that was what he ended up doing he'd act like he hated it even though he'd love every minute.
"Thank you, Chloe, for bringing this matter to my attention. I shall see to it further in my office. But if you don't mind, Professors, I would like to settle this matter myself. Draven...Zeph... if you'd please take a seat, we can discuss this further."
Draven nodded and headed through the doorway, pausing to give Professor Pendragon one last look. If she was paying attention, she might catch a glimpse of that grateful smile before he turned back and made his way to a seat in the Headmaster's office. He had a feeling that her words would only benefit him and Zeph.
Draven sat down, his feet dangling above the floor as he took in his surroundings. Rather a narrow office, he thought. It was almost like a glorified closet. Still, it had a certain charm to it, with its clutter. The only thing that really put the boy off was the presence of three birds that looked more than capable of ripping out his innards. Blanching a bit, he decided not to focus on them. He curled his fingers around the seat of his chair instead, swinging his feet a bit before looking up at Talon and speaking again.
"I really think Zeph should be excused or at least be disciplined more lightly, Headmaster. While, yes, it did happen, it wouldn't have if I'd acted differently. I think I kind of, I dunno...seduced him on accident? And I still stand by the idea that Zeph's at least a little delirious from getting sick. He probably wasn't thinking straight when he came out and saw me without my shirt on." He tightened his grip on the front of his seat. "Not that I'm telling you what to do, please don't assume that. I'm just...er..." He bit his lip and looked away from Talon. "...shutting up until you ask me to speak."
Please don't sic your eagles on me.

Zeph had expected that.

Oh fuck. She was the best person ever. He would have kissed her if it weren't for the ick factor.
"Thank you, Chloe, for bringing this matter to my attention. I shall see to it further in my office. But if you don't mind, Professors, I would like to settle this matter myself. Draven...Zeph... if you'd please take a seat, we can discuss this further."
They got onto the office, and despite how small it was, it looked as if it was a very comfortable place to stay in.
As long as you didn't look at the eagles.
He sat down slowly, swallowing. What would happen? Would the Headmaster take into account what Proffessor Pendragon had said?
"I really think Zeph should be excused or at least be disciplined more lightly, Headmaster. While, yes, it did happen, it wouldn't have if I'd acted differently. He glared softly at Draven. No. Draven was not taking the blame. Zeph was. Maybe not all, but Zeph hoped to get most.
"Draven, be reasonable. It's obvious that I should've known better."

Morgan nodded in deference to her boss and mentor. "As you wish, headmaster." She bid everyone good evening, noted Draven's grateful look, then made her way back to her office. She had rather a lot of notes to get through, after all.
