Talon had a bit of a rude awakening upon his recovery. The school seemed in perfect shape, with the student body being active around campus, except that a number of his Professors were still on 'long vacations' and it was very clear that they had outright resigned. Should they come back looking for their job, only a few would still be able to recover theirs. The Headmaster wasn't going to be playing games anymore when it came to his academic institution. It was time for his students to have a serious education.
With the absence of Protege Seapplek, the animagus and a scholar of transfigurations if there ever was one, Talon found himself unable to fill the post. Nobody quite had the potential to teach his students Transfiguration, which had been Talon's most talented subject in school (he hadn't exactly been very good at history, surprisingly, as he asked far too many questions and provided far too little answers) and one he knew was very important in life as a wizard. So, upon turning the third interviewee down, he decided that this year, at least, he would teach the class himself.
He had split the class in two - Transfiguration for the younger students and Advanced Transfigurations for the older ones. Such a complex subject required at least two different classes to study. He would use the same classroom for both - the old empty room on the third floor - but schedule them at different times of the day. Talon stepped into that old classroom and waved his wand to open the curtains and allow some light into the room. With a few flicks here and there, he arranged the desks and made it a rather presentable classroom.
The House Elves he'd hired had done a pretty good job of keeping the place clean, too.
He was still bald, with both his scalp and eyebrows deprived of hair. Long, thick, orange burn marks ran across his bare head and his right cheek. His purple robes, however, remained the same as ever. He took a seat at the empty desk in the corner and pointed his wand at the board. "Scribe," he casted, and words began to run across the black surface.
