There was a quiet creak as the door of the Entrance Hall opened and then shut, and a new student walked in. A girl, no stranger to magic, was entering this school for the first time, transferring from another. Roan Aliagh had finally arrived at Firefox after a long journey involving the night bus. A small hand drew back the hood of her cloak, revealing what used to be a calm and soft face, now weary and stressed. Her hazel eyes were firey and yet almost sad. They looked around the Entrance Hall, almost in a daze. This was so new to her, and it was all so foreign. She felt not like herself, like a traitor for abandoning her school in the time of its need, but she was on the verge of insanity if she didn’t get away from it all. Get away from the stress and physical pain. Now she had a chance to be a normal student, a normal person, and not care whether or not their school could fall down about their heels any second.
She took a few more steps in, her old black school robes sweeping behind her, along with her black cloak. There was a suitcase in each hand and a bag slung over her shoulder that obviously held papers. Her wand stuck out of the flap on that bag, brand new since her old one had been snapped. Carefully she placed her bags down, rubbing her sore arms from carrying them so long. What would this school be like? She had heard who it was run by, a very famous wizard from her old school, so it couldn’t be that bad. Would it be like going to a normal magic school? At that thought Roan chuckled a bit, her face drawing into a rare smile. It was a magic school, nothing would be normal, there was no exception to that.
As her hazel eyes scanned the area again, more thoughts came to mind. Who else would transfer? Would she be left alone here without any familiar faces, to restart her life in the best way she knew how? That would be a nightmare, but then again, most of her life up to that point had been a nightmare already. “Hello?” She called, her voice at a shout. This was much different then she used to be, normally she would sit there and wait for someone to find her, now there wasn’t time to do that. Should she get up and go and find someone? It was about 10 in the morning, most students would be in class, but maybe there was someone that didn’t have a class at that time who could show her to the common room, or a teacher, or someone. Roan was painfully aware that she didn’t know her way around the school like she did her last one.
“Hello!” She called again, sighing. Great, just great. This is all just one big mess. Why couldn’t you have arrived earlier this morning, or just waited until this afternoon to get to the school. She thought to herself, standing there like a fool, trying to decide what to do. Either stand there, or go and look around herself.
