Dragging her feet behind her Karmyn Pryde stormed towards the entrance of the large, immaculate building. Yes, she had seen how brilliant the place looked but she still so angry that she was being forced to go to a wizarding school she decided to ignore it and continue on her plan to get herself expelled. Huffing and puffing in annoyance Karm ran up the stone steps with a small suitcase in her hands. She reached the doors and swung them open and staled inside. Even the brilliance of the entrance wouldn’t stop Karmyn.
Proceeding from the entrance towards a separate hallway to see if she could fine a way which could help her get sent straight home before she even starts schooling; Karmyn found that she had somehow ended up getting lost – already. This was what she hated about wizards and witches; they always thought that you could get around anywhere you want to without a stupid map. Spinning around the Slytherin attempted to find her way back to the entrance which turn out that it wasn’t as easy as she thought.
“Crap.”
It seemed like a whole lifetime before Karmyn found the entrance once again. Sighing heavily she sat on a wooden bench and plonked her suitcase down on the floor awaiting somebody to come along so she could find out where she actually had to go. [/ul]
It was midday. Willow was humming random nonsense under her breath as she strode up the flagstone to the school arch. She didn't belong there, that much was obvious. Her hair was probably a mess, entangled with whatever leaves and sticks had broken off in the woods. Still humming, she paused, spotting the girl at the arch.
She wasn't familiar. Willow knew the scent of every student in the entire school, and this one was new. Taking a breath and commiting the smell to memory, the tanned girl stepped up behind her, watching her. Willow was dressed in a pair of muddied, grass-stained cargo pants and a t-shirt that was probably worse off. She wasn't sure. The lycaness hadn't paid much attention to her appearance as of late.
"Lost?" Willow piped up. Sure, she wasn't a student anymore. But she had been, and had wandered the grounds enough to know it like the pack of her paw...er, hand. Silver-green eyes flickering, she took in the girl's appearance. She didn't look thrilled to be here. Surprising, to Willow. She'd loved her time at Firefox University.
Her wand was stuck in the beltloop of her cargo pants. It was just for show, really. Willow couldn't use magic anymore, she knew that. Wasn't thrilled with it, but it was true. Besides, being a lycan and belonging somewhere was MUCH better than being stuck in a dorm all day. She grinned.
The sound of somebody else approaching the entrance made Karmyn jump and fall to the ground. Blushing she grabbed the bench and heaved herself off the ground. The oak wand she had recently bought had fallen across the room towards the girl who had walked into the area. Karmyn wasn't sure whether to go over and pick it up herself or if the girl was going to. Instead she decided to ask her; well ask is a little bit of an understatement.
"You going pick it up or not?" she shouted, "And no, I just don't want to go and look around the place 'cuz I don't want to even be here!"
OOC: It's OK. I don't usually do long ones to be honest this is long for me. [/ul]
ooc- You're about where I was when I started here. =D Better, actually.
bic- The girl crashed to the ground, an unexpected occurence, and her wand rolled towards Willow. Oak, she registered immediately. A smile tweaked the corner of the lycan's mouth at the girl's sharp response. Apparently, she didn't like being clumsy infront of strangers. Well, not many people did.
I might be half canine, but I don't belong to you, Willow thought, but the phrase wouldn't go anywhere. If she was in her wolf shape, the thought could be projected to this new witch. As it were, it was stuck in Willow's head. Silver-green eyes flickering, the lycan was unsure to be annoyed or amused. She comprimised by smiling faintly, considering just kicking the wand back.
If it was someone Willow knew, she'd have transformed to pick it up. But....No reason to scare her off, Willow thought, grinning slightly. I'll be she has no idea what all roams these grounds...The lycaness stopped, snatched up that wand, and quickly closed the few feet between them. Frowning slightly now, she watched the girl, holding out her wand. "Why would you hate being here? I don't even live here anymore and I still come in at least three times a week."
Her shoulderbag clapped against the back of her leg as she walked, reminding her why she was here. To take notes on vampires, and the Nephilim, and whatever baddies roamed beyond the school campus. And on it. She'd run into two vampires on the lakeshore alone(although one was her fault) and had caught the scent of one of them on the grounds again, near the crypt. Willow hadn't bothered her. It was her business.
The girl had sass, Willow would give her that. It gleamed in the girl's eyes, bristled on her skin. She was gonna be a handful in a conversation, if thing's didn't perk up. Willow'd put up with worse. She'd rather deal with a pissy teenager than a curious, ill-intenting Nephilim anyday. Just the thought of running into Kesteral again made her shudder. Her knee, an injury from the last encounter, had panged slightly when Willow had bent down to pick up the wand, then walking across the front of the school.
Karmyn dropped her jaw in horror, "Why would you want to stay in this place? You could never know what was going to happen - one moment you could be hanging upset down in plain air, the next, being attacked by flying birds."[/ul]
The girl started to storm off, but stopped when Willow spoke, looking horrified. Well, well. This would be fun. Something she said struck the lycaness as funny, and she swallowed a snicker, a smile still on her lips. Her silver-green eyes flickered with amusement.
"Don't all birds fly?" Willow asked, feeling snarky. She was being an ass, and she knew it. The lycan took another step after her. Willow stretched, arching her back, and glanced down at her own wand. Maybe she could get the girl to stay. Willow liked company, and this girl...She seemed alright, if she wasn't so freaked out by everything that moved.
She looked the girl up and down again, her face settling back into the no-expression-I'm-normal state. Clasping her hands behind her back, she peered at the girl through her brown hair. The girl reminded her of someone, but she wasn't sure who.....Hmm. Something to think about later. Maybe Felix would know. Willow was surprised the Gryffindor prefect hadn't pounced on this girl yet, he seemed to be everywhere nowadays....That wasn't necessarily a good thing.
"Just don't make anyone made and you don't have anything to worry about," Willow said. "Besides...magic's fun. No need to pay twenty bucks for hair dye anymore, huh? Do-it-yourself salons, all in one little stick."
Willow had dyed her hair once, when she was twelve. She'd done the last two inches of her hair jet black, and the guy she had a crush on had convinced her it looked ridiculous. Her crush had lasted for another hour, and she'd gone home and dyed her hair back to the original color. Her uncle had thought it was ridiculous to begin with, and had gladly paid the twenty bucks to dye it back.
"Tell you what, anyone around here gives you any trouble, you send me an owl with their name and I'll settle the score."
Hell, she could give anyone a good scare. Even Felix would jump if she went into angry-furry mode. A pissed off lycan was not something you wanted hunting you down, because unless you could fly, there was no getting away from a lycan. Fast, strong. She'd seen and heard about the damage Fenrir had done, and had seen the effects of her own control-loss. Willow now had a permanent furry companion to remind her of what happened when you lost control.
Willow stared skyward, looking thoughtful. Sometimes she wished she could read minds, like Felix did. Or at least, it seemed like he did. She had never gotten the chance to ask him about it in the woods, Roan had shown up to yell at them before they'd had much of a chance to talk. The lycan missed her best friend sometimes.....Silly little gryffindor. It'd been a while. Maybe she could break into the common room later....
"You can get into all sorts of trouble without directly pissing anyone off....There is an alternate dimesion at the bottom of the lake....Quidditch racing. I'd race but...." She grinned. "Flying doesn't cooperate with me."
Well. Not broomstick flying. She'd flown on a Thestral with Ashelle, but she doubted this girl could see them, although it was fun. Riding Artie had been one of the craziest things she'd gotten to do in a long time.
"Find a good friend who can tolerate annoying spells."
I'd do it, Willow thought. As she couldn't use magic, and being a lycan kept some spells from having much of an effect on her, so it'd be entertaining to see what Karmyn could do. Willow had never met a Karmyn. Nice name. Normal, compared to some of the names around here. Gwent. Shadonious. Many others she could mention.
"Let's see what else...There's the astronomy tower, which I might mention has been the location of several tragic events. We recently had a love potion explode...That was interesting." By interesting, she meant scary and entertaining. She herself had almost gone too far with a boy she barely knew, due effects of the potion, and had walked in on two good friends of hers who'd gone even further than she had. It'd been....scary, to say the least. But hilarious.
"There's....well. Frankly I used to find it funny to shoot stuff out the Owlery window and let owls chase it. But that was kind of..childish. And if you don't mind risking your neck, there is the woods, but I wouldn't recommend that." She perched on one leg, pulling up the jeans on her other leg, all the way to the knee. A white scar stood out against her lightly tanned skin. "Got my kneecap torn out. Had to have it replaced. Not fun."
Not fun at all. Not at all. She debated telling the girl about herself, a little more than she had. Willow the lycan. 'Hi there, I turn into a furry friend. Want me to be your guide around the school?' Hey, that last sentence is a good idea....
"If you want a guide or something, I know where everything is." And the passwords, she thought. "I can show you the more entertaining aspects of the school. Did you know we have a dueling field where we can legally shoot each other with hexes?"
