FORSAKEN CREATURE APP.
Name: Grandfather Oak
Alias: Harvest King, Gramps
Gender: Male
Age: as old as Autumn
Species: Fae
Grandfather Oak is a kind and generous soul. As his is the season of harvest, where food is plentiful, he is constantly giving out gifts to those he meets and throws fantastic feasts wherever he goes. He laughs long and frequently- a deep booming roar which can shake the leaves from branches and is said to be heard for miles in every direction. When it comes to the courts of fae, Grandfather Oak concerns himself little whenever summer or spring holding sway. Though most seasons are ultimately times of peace, where bright sunshine and food are in abundance, winter is the opposite of everything he values. For winter is the one true source of suffering, when food is scarce and survival becomes a daily struggle. He bears a secret hatred for the yearly frost which inexorably comes to sap away his strength and leaves him to watch the inevitable misery that follows. Thus, his chief goal involves a way to put an end to winter once and for all.
Dominant Appearance
Grandfather Oak, as his name might suggest, is nothing less than a giant, with skin like the bark of trees and a beard of leaves in full autumn colors. Basically, he’s an ent.
Submissive Appearance
To humans, Grandfather Oak appears as an old man. Yet despite his prominent wrinkles and grey hair he is still tall and strong, as of one who spends his days out in the fields doing hard labor, but has not yet allowed the labor to leave him bent and broken.
Relationships of Significance:
Spring: To him, spring is little more than a child, adorably immature. Best to let them tire themselves out and then put them to bed by late afternoon.
Summer: The adolescent or young adult, full of impulsive behavior and wild emotions. Aggravating, even at the best of times, and in dire need of guidance.
Autumn: Fellow elderly folks and sources of wisdom. Perfect to share tales with and other tidbits of knowledge.
Winter: Death. The ending. The source of suffering which ends the season of plenty. Winter should be eliminated if at all possible.
…he is Autumn! He is a big treeman. He likes to give people food and laugh and be a jolly green giant. ‘Nuff said.
