It had been years since he had walked these halls yet he still knew every twist, turn, and secret passage that lead to the Headmaster's office. He had news for his old head master. He wasn't sure how much mustang wanted being revealed, but he figured he could use all the eyes and ears he could get.
So he made his way to the top floor and entered the passage to the Headmaster's office. He had sent an owl earlier in the day addressed to 'the headmaster'. but he hadn't waited for a response he wanted to get all his ducks in a row as quickly as he could. So He decided to just go and pay a visit.

Morgan was going to have to get better security as far as Reginald was concerned. He hadn't even been demanding his customary greeting lately, and Morgan had been too busy to re-enchant him. But soon. She would do that soon.
As she heard the knock at her door, she said, "Come in," from behind her desk where she was just getting to the last bits of paperwork left over from Talon's tenure as headmaster. The office was finally free of the precarious stacks of parchment that had all but made it unusable when she first tackled the problem.
This was, however, a good stopping point for her. So she welcomed the distraction of a visitor.
When Malachy walked in it didn't register right away that it was Morgan at the desk. Instead he noticed how clean and tidy the place was. Mal had been in here only once before and it had been a hoarders paradise of papers, and ancient artifacts, but now he could see the walls the hundreds of headmaster and head mistress portraits. and even the sorting hat which sat comfortably upon a pewter bust of the founder of the school.
"Wow." he said "The place cleans up quite nicely." He said the he saw Morgan there. And the words evaded him. Morgan was headmistress? When and how did this happen last time he had seen her she was still running the bookstore they had started. Finally he found his voice. "Morgan? you seem to have gotten to the top of the totem pole pretty quick." He said with the impression that he was both impressed and proud of his friend. and in the darker more private part of his calculating mind, one of his tools had been revealed to have upgraded itself.

When she saw who entered her office, Morgan was left speechless temporarily. He must have thought Talon still ran this place, or else hadn't heard it was her that got promoted (or really, kind of promoted herself) when Talon left. She remembered the last time she'd seen him. The night she'd saved his life.
How could he forget what she'd said to him that night?
"Get out." Her voice was quiet, yet strong. "Get out of this office. You are never to set foot on school grounds again. If you so much as give me a sideways glance ever again, I will turn you in to the Black Forest Church." She had specifically told him that night that she'd never wanted to see him again.
A werewolf had killed her familiar, an animal that she'd bonded her soul to. It had been like ripping a chunk from her still-beating heart. Once Malachy had become a werewolf, she'd known what he'd be capable of, of what he wouldn't be able to control.
Her eyes watched him to see if he'd comply or if she'd have to handle things the hard way.
Damn it all. He was aware of Morgans hatred of the werewolf that killed her familiar. The werewolf that had done it had died at Malachy's hand, Malachy didn't know that but it was true. But it didn't change anything. To her he was now a monster. and he could see in her eyes that he would be treated as such. However there was a much bigger threatout there and she was going to hear him out whether she liked it or not.
He pulled his wand from his pocket and without raising it placed it on the desk and left it there. A sign that he didn't want to fight. "The full moon is weeks away so I'm no more harmful than you are Morgan, plus i have a garden of Munkshood, and wolf's bane potion brewing as we speak. I have no plans of loosing control." He explained. then added "Besides, i have bad news that concerns the safety of the students i thought you aught to know."

Morgan was tempted to snap his wand in half, but she didn't want to get any more involved with Malachy than she already was. The fool didn't even know that 'munkshood' was inferior to monkshood, the herb otherwise known as both aconite and wolf's bane. Maybe he would overdose on the stuff and die so she could have some peace. No, that wasn't a charitable thought. Morgan was going to at least try to be courteous.
"You have one minute, Malachy. I won't let you waste any more of my time."
Last Malachy checked he pronounced the plant correctly. So the critique in grammar mute. Still he needed to get this information to her. "Well, it just so happens that a Lycanthrope named Grendel has escaped custody. I don't remember if i ever told you about the murder scene i witnessed four years ago but lets say the Ravenclaw he offed had definitely suffered. I have been charged with aiding in the capture of this monster, and I was hoping that the head master of my former school should be warned so that they might do something to protect the kids from a true monster that LIKES the taste of human flesh." He stopped. he was raising his voice and he needed to calm himself.
"Instead i find an old friend glaring at me like i was the one that ate her rabbit, and speaking to me as if, because i didn't let myself suffer the same fate, I'm suddenly a monster." That bit was said in a hurt sort of way. "I already exiled myself for two years. and now that I'm putting my life back together i have one of my best friends wanting to toss me out like I'm some sort of infection.

Grendel. The name stirred old, half-forgotten memories. Whispers and rumors of things Morgan had only been partially aware of at the time. She was glad of the information, but she still despised its source. And for him to even mention what that abomination had done!
"You do not get to speak of Asher. He wasn't just some pet rabbit. He was my familiar, bonded to my soul. Losing him was like losing a family member." Like losing a little piece of herself. And she didn't have many family members left after being disowned anyway. Poor Malachy. He got turned into a werewolf. Morgan had lost a dear friend, a leg, her life's dream, and her family in the short space of a few months.
When he called her one of his best friends, Morgan stifled the impulse to laugh in his face. They weren't friends, and they hadn't been for a long time. "If that's all you came to say, Malachy, you can go. I won't have monsters like you on my campus. Don't come back."
Malachy stifled his own urge to growl. He wasn't a monster and he refused to allow himself become one. Well at least no further than flesh deep. "If the real monster rears its bloody face send an owl to either me, Mayor Mustang, or a man named Edmund, and we'll help take care of it." He refrained from slinging insults at her. And picked up his wand. And turned to leave.
"I'll be keeping in touch." He said finally before leaving. As he wend down the stairs he realized that an entire chapter of his past had closed it doors in his face. Mustang's job was all he had. There was no turning back. the bite Had taken more than his humanity from him. it had all but destroyed his social network. and many of his tools where lost to the void. He needed to start from scratch.
He was a werewolf in a bad mood and he really wanted to hurt something but he controlled himself. He liked his limbs where they where.

As Malachy left, Morgan pulled a parchment out of her desk and drafted not one, but two short letters:
Dear Mister Bismarck,
I thought it might interest you to know that there is a known werewolf living in Drakborough by the name of Malachy Necrosa. He is a danger to my students and the citizens of Drakborough. I trust in your protection.
The werewolf in question also informed me about another dangerous creature who calls himself Grendel. Somewhat melodramatic I know, but it's better to be cautious in these matters.

~and~
Mayor Morrison,
I would appreciate you not letting your lapdog on campus. If you need to alert me to security risks, please do so in person or by owl. As school staff, you of course have the right to approach me about such matters.
Sincerely,
Morgan Pendragon Acting Headmistress and CoMC Professor
She sent these both out with nondescript school owls to avoid detection. Mondleid was far too conspicuous for missives this sensitive.
