Megan couldn't help but smile a little. "It's nice to meet you too!" she replied, shaking the girl's hand. She looked more like a china doll than anything else. Meg would know, she had five on her shelf at home.
There were still a few words Megan couldn't grasp for the life of her... it was almost like she'd stepped into some sort of strange world where everyone spoke, and everyone a different language. She'd hardly been able to make one thing out since she entered the hall.
Now, here they went again. She wasn't sure what 'having' meant, but she could most likely improvise? Either way, Suiseiseki, as she had called herself, would figure out a way to tell this girl in front of her to dance. "Ai... amu.." She thought for a few more seconds, before choosing a word that sounded familiar and felt right. "Omuletto?" No, no, that wasn't right after all. "Buffuhlou.. wingu...?"

Meanwhile Andrey stooped looking at the window and turned around to look how dances are going up. When he saw that everyone is enyoing the dances, a thought suddenly came inside his mind. This thought was a song... he heard it inside his head, the song which he listened for very long time. Song was so slow and calm as the morning of the summer. Song sang:
"Fanuilos heryn aglar, Rîn athar annún-aearath, Calad ammen i reniar Mi ‘aladhremmin ennorath!..."
Then Andrey turned back and watched through the window very silently singing the song which continued to sing inside his head and then Andrey bacame very happy and smiled.
What a better way to get the new students at Firefox to meet each other than a big Dance? Everyone could be friendly for once rather then being on edge or at each other’s throats and just dance the night away. There was one student though who was not about to mingle with a crowd of new faces, and was quite content to sit off to the side and glare away any new company that would want to see her.
Roan normally wouldn’t have gone to such a Dance, she had a bad experience the last time she did. Her arms would be thankful if they could get through this one without being smashed, as would the fingers on her right hand. Plus she was no social butterfly at all, only having a few close friends she truly cared about and could tolerate in this world. But this may be a good time to see them and enjoy a lull in the endless wars, tears, and battles that plagued the school. The Hufflepuff wondered as she watched new faces go by if each student that had enrolled in Firefox knew what danger besieged it almost on a daily basis. She wondered if they thought they were getting a normal education and if they thought dances such as this were normal things at Firefox. Nobody but those who had gone through the horrors of the school could really appreciate how important such a fun event as this was.
Which was the reason the brunette had showed up against her wants.
While most students had dressed up to stand out for the night Roan was the complete opposite. Nothing about her clothing told that she was a lycan, though none of it told she was a magic student either. The black dress she wore was simple enough, falling down to about her ankles and fitting nicely to her small and trim form. Sleeveless with a moderate neckline that didn’t make her look like a tramp but didn’t make her look like a prude either, the dress wasn’t meant to stand out or make her look dazzling. It was meant to just be straightforward and not draw attention. Brown locks were falling neatly down about her shoulders and back, she hadn’t done anything special with them either except make sure her hair was brushed and looked nice.
After slipping into the Dance after it had started unnoticed, the Hufflepuff had gone and stood off to the side near the wall. Her hazel eyes were clear of any flames tonight and she looked like an average student for once. The wear and tear of the weeks after learning she was a lycan had finally left her face, putting Roan in a balanced state. She was content to just watch people, both those that she knew and didn’t know. A smile did cross her face when she saw Sylph and Forgoil dancing, the two of them were a wonderful pair in her eyes. And Sylph really did look beautiful that night, Roan was actually surprised at how much effort had been put in by her friend. Maybe she would go and tell her later, but for now she just smiled and took her eyes from the couple. There was Muryllis over by the punch, Ashelle was crying with some little boy near her, and Professors Kat and Talon were talking. None of whom was she about to approach, and even though she would have loved to go and taunt Ashelle, Roan kept her distance and her words.
The brunette wasn’t really a dancing sort of person, and she was actually thinking of going to get some food when she heard a rather quiet voice to the side of her. “Hi there.” The girl just turned her gaze towards whoever had the nerve to approach her and glared at the boy who stood there, he had to be no more than thirteen or fourteen. “You’ve been standing there alone, do you want to come over with me and my friends and dance or something?” He said cheerfully only to get narrowed angry eyes from Roan and some harsh words. “I’d rather jump into the Lake in the middle of winter. Scram before I set your robes on fire.”
The boy gave her a glare of his own before turning around with a rather prissy ‘humf’ and walking back to his friends. Roan responded merely by sending a small puff of flames after the hem of his dress robes and watching with amusement as he and his friends tried to put it out several times before remembering that they had wands. Roan let out a laugh and crossed her arms as she leaned against a wall. What was fun for her wasn’t necessarily fun for others at all, but at least that would probably keep anyone else she didn’t want from approaching her.
Roan just went back to watching the party, quite content for now to be no more than a spectator.
If this is to end in fire Then we shall all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night

"Excellent!" Cary responded, excited to get back out on the dance floor where he knew what he was doing, where to put his feet, and how to look as cool and confident as his father expected him to. He took Avyre's hand in his own and led her jauntily to an empty space on the floor. Already, he could feel the rhythm of the music pumping through his veins.
"This music would be lovely for some salsa dancing. Do you know how to salsa?"

Avyre smiled as Carey led her to the dance floor. She watched as he became more at ease when he stepped on the dance floor. The music was upbeat, something she could move to. When Carey asked her to salsa, she nervously shook her head in affirmative. She had, at one point, taken salsa lessons in Brindisi, and she hoped she could remember some of the moves. One step at a time, Avyre. No need to get ahead of yourself.[/i] She took a deep breath to steady herself and waited for Carey to instigate the dance.

Half an hour after returning from the dry cleaners, a blonde boy careened through his open window which lead to his dorm room on his rental broom Sirrus 3.5. The broom handled quite well in terms of top speed, as well as overall handling. It was shaped into a three-cornered lightning bolt, and the bristle was a good two feet in length. He actually wondered if they had these on layaway? That would still mean getting a job for the semester to pay the thing off. But first thing was first: Party! He had been doing so much to prepare for classes, including cramming. Lucre was not much of the party animal, but he was interested in meeting people. Plus, Lucre really just wanted to take his mind off matters, if not for this evening, at least.
Within the span of ten minutes the boy had took a dexterious rinse-off in the shower, jumped into his blue tux, and unearthed his gray fedora from his wardrobe. Smoothing out any traces of lint or wrinkle, he gave himself a vain scan down in front of his mirror before reclaiming his Lightning bolt. He then strung a red ribbon into a bow tie in his hair, pulling it into a tight ponytail before putting his fedora back on.
And in the same way he entered, the blonde clicked the heels of his black dress shoes and sprang out, on hand on the broom and the other clutching firmly to his hat. Spiraling in an arc, he twisted it to lead directly to the area of festivities and barreled through an open window at over 400 RPMs. The wind was cold till he met with the warm rush of indoor excitement. Most of everyone in the chamber failed to even notice his entry, but the ones at the front of the room, close to the Professor's podiums, were aghast at the thought of someone crashing into them. The blonde pivoted and hit the brakes, stopping short of them by a few feet.
"Evening." Lucre said duskily as he leaned the broom against the stage and put a cheap protection spell on it. He then turned to face the crowd, and pondered where he should head to first.
