The 6th year slytherin lazed quietly in the trees near the Dueling fields. His long black hair was fallen over his clear eyes. He wasn't asleep. Just waiting, watching behind the darkness. His right hand was grasped tight around his wand in his pocket-not forgetting the last time he had 'raccooned' in a tree. He didn't much like being stunned from such a height.
Watching a few Hufflepuffs pass on their way to classes his eyes flared angrily. He knew his sister was amongst them, weedling her day with the 'kinder' house. She was suposed to be dead, not haunting his every move.
Closing his eyes, he focused instead on himself. Darkness was such a rewarding future....
Walking across the field with his brown irises flickering lazily, the 4th year Ravenclaw took in a deep breath of air. The air was crisp, the weather was temperate, and the apple trees were beginning to bloom; a perfect condition for a nice stroll along the Dueling Field. Walking with a brisk, bold demeanor, his feet were so light they didn’t eve trample a single blade of grass.
He spotted combatants fight each other with wit and skill of spells, willpower and strength. He could have sworn he saw both a Gryffie girl who used illegal spells, and an odd looking drow. Was this possible?
His face flushed from the foggy day, TJ wiped away a drop of humidity off his brow, then wiping it on his simple workout pants. He was wearing a basic band T-shirt, two studded wristbands, a simple pair of side-striped working pants, and a pair of black running shoes.
Pushing back a stray, strand-like fringe, the well-built teenager spotted a rather angry looking Slytherin who seemed to be infuriated and shady. His black hair and beady eyes accented his pale face, which so seemingly glowed from the mild sun.
Approaching the boy, TJ reached for his wand and tried to smile with a friendly look. “Hi, the name’s TJ. Wanna battle?”

ooc: sorry if i dont reply much, ive got like tons of work
Shadow frowned slightly and opened his eyes. Jumping down from the branch he grabbed for his wand. Pointing it directly at the Ravenclaws neck he snarled softly.
After a moment or two he smirked darkly and lowered his wand, although still grasping it tight. Brushing his hair from his eyes he looked the boy up and down. "Shadow......" He nodded and walked swift lengths away.
Turning on the spot he snarled again out of annoyance and bowed his head slightly-as was his custom. TJ could have the first move, he doubted he would need it anyway.
The Slytherin boy crouched down and leapt off the branch, landing in the soft grasses of Firefox. Snarling and pointing his wand at TJ's neck, the boy seemed like some dangerous dark wizard. TJ's irises rose in slight inquisitiveness, though not fear. If the boy pulled anything serious, he would probably be sent to the top wizarding jail for juvenile delinquents. Best case scenario.
The boy then lowered his wand and smiled darkly, his face contorted in smirk-like appearance. Brushing his emo-style hair out of his face, the boy scanned TJ and then briefly said, "Shadow..." "Nice to meet you too," TJ said sarcastically, still a little fazed by the sudden point-the-wand-at-neck-and-snarl-angrily-then-introduce-yourself.
The newly introduced Shadow walked swift paces away onto the dueling field, where an open spot laid for open dueling. TJ smiled as his Relient K shirt blew in the wind. His tight, skinny-leg jeans were tight, and he had relatively mobile clothing. His skate shoes flattening the blades of grass until he had approached the older Slytherin boy, TJ fingered his wand before wrapping it firmly around with his fist, the whites of his knuckles paling from the tension.
The boy turned around and snarled loudly, his face plastered with annoyance and distaste. Curtly nodding, the boy walked down and seemed to give the brown-haired teenager the first move. "Oh, thanks," the Ravenclaw said, after realizing that Shadow was giving him the first move. "By the way," he said, "this is a friendly duel. Nothing that will be too serious, like broken bones or anything."
Taking five paces away from the centerfield, TJ spun around and pointed his wand towards Shadow's head. "Avis confundus!" A beam of light emitted from his wand, and a flock of birds shot out of the beam, going straight for the boy Shadow. If planned, the birds would confuse his opponent, and he would plan from there.

Shadow tilted his head to one side for a brief moment before repling quietly, "As you wish..."
He snarled as TJ made his move, he watched angrily as the flock of birds shot towards him. think fast He shouted his chant as the birds attacked him, "Argumenti!" The black light shone out of his wand, a thick jet of freezing water shooting towards teh Ravenclaw.
Covering his head with his left arm, he kept his wand arm pointed at TJ. Trying to point his wand at a single bird, "Finite....Finite!"
I will be successful, he thought, trying to encourage himself as a flock of imaginary birds befell on Shadow, who fought them. TJ continued to let the birds center from his concentrated wand, his hand still and unwavering. Suddenly, Shadow pointed his wand to TJ and yelled 'Argumenti!' Though he believed the spell was incorrectly spoken, TJ knew what Shadow meant, and the wand knew the spell, as well.
A sheer, full-speed blast of ice-cold liquid burst towards the brown-haired Ravenclaw, who was unexpecting and ill-prepared. The blast hit him square in the chest, blasting him back a few feet. His grip on his wand tightened as he swirled back, landing on his arse in the middle of the dueling field. The birds had disappeared from lack of concentration, and Shadow seemed to be temporarily victorious.
His brown hair moppy and soaked, TJ pushed a wet fringe out of his face before shaking the water out of his hair. For a small, concentrated blast, it had soaked TJ from head to toe. His cold, soaked T-shirt pressed against his shivering skin, and the boy knew that his Slytherin opponent had indeed made a wise choice. A wise choice indeed.
Recovering and standing up, TJ pointed his wand towards his body. "Stegnosa," he said as a weak beam emitted from his wand, drying his clothes immediately. He had learned that the drying spell was indeed based on 'stegnos', the Greek word for 'dry'. His body feeling warmer in the mild sun, TJ stood up and stared at Shadow, a smile curling onto his moistened lips.
"Very nice, Shadow," the Ravenclaw said, his hair still damp from the watery blast, "A nice move that was quite unexpected." Whipping his wand around, he quickly pointed his ash cylindrical mini-rod at the Slytherin boy, then concentrating hard.
"Conjunctivo!" TJ roared, his wand at full force. It was indeed the Conjunctivitus Curse, which affected the target's vision greatly. Nimbly stepping to the side with his hands swriling about, TJ rushed Shdaow and jumped up, then pointing his wand at Shadow's face. Flicking his wand, TJ yelled 'Petrificus Totalus!'' If all went well, Shadow would have vision problems, and his body would lock up, resulting to him on the ground like a board.

The slytherin's eyes flared as he watched the jet crash into TJ's chest. His arms were still flung over his head as he snarled at the birds. Smirking darkly he drew the scene unto himself as he viewed the Ravenclaw staggering to his feet, soaked to the skin.
He lifted his head, brushing his fringe from his eyes. One eyebrow was raised as he listened to the boys speech. He was actually praising him? Grinning slightly he twirled his wand between his fingers. "Talk is cheap..." he replied, pointing his wand towards him.
"Sectumsempra!" he glowered. His spell was knocked off balanced as TJ's spell hit Shadow full in the face. His own spell spun of into a tree close to his opponent, the trunk's bark splitting and the sap leaking out.
He doubled over, covering his eyes with his hands. Looking up, his vision was blurred. He couldn't make sense of what he could see. Crap. Snarling at the deformed-figure he gasped as its form ran towards him. "What the hell...." ''Petrificus Totalus!'
Asuming it was TJ, he was stunned both emotively and literally. He fell back, his muscles tensing. Well, look what happened.....again Everytime. Dammit, that Ravenclaw was going to pay when the new age dawned.
The Slytherin boy had brushed a fringe out of his face and smiled, almost eerily. He twirled his dark wand with his fingers, his face contorted into a wicked smirk. 'Talk is cheap,' his opponent said, almost dismissing the honest encouragement. Why would he say that? It was an earnest remark of praise. Never mind that....
The two spells had countered after another, and to TJ's delight, had worked perfectly. Shadow was now on the floor, his body locked to the ground. His vision was blurred, and his wand was crisply against his side, the tip pointing up to the air. TJ walked over and pointed his wand to the boy. Smiling and muttering, "So Shad', had enough?", the boy flicked his wand towards his Slytherin opponent.
"Relashio!" he said, the bond of the two spells breaking immediately. Shadow's vision was cleared, and his body was free to move. TJ quickly ran back to his spot and pointed out his wand in defense. Waiting for his dueling opponent to get up, TJ's eyes locked ahead.

The Ravenclaw had muttered 'So Shad', had enough?' before releasing him from his blinded prison. Clutching his stomach painfully, he sat up-tapping the side of his head softly with his palm.
Gradually getting to his feet, he kept his head low-his body slightly turned to one side, away from TJ. His mopped black hair covered his eyes from view as he snarled-breathing deeply. Resting his hands on his knees his anger grew. He had a future, a reign to behold and no-one, NO-ONE was going to stop him. Defeat was not an option.
Standing up straight, his gaze focused on the ground. "You should think your moves carefully boy Nightshadow......I would have left conjunctivo..." Turning his head and swinging his wand arm forwards in one swift movement. His eyes raged with angry flames as he shouted his resort, "Sectumsempra!"
This time, maybe it wouldn't miss. This time, maybe the boy would get his revenge-and the gashes would be deep.
Raising his wand in a defensive manuever, TJ saw Shadow, his opponent, stand up, staring at the floor. He seemed to be snarling, his long black hair covering his maliciously revengeful expression. The Ravenclaw teenager was all ready, as he wiped his brow on his black Abercrombie shirt, which was still laundry-dry from his drying spell.
Shadow stood up fully, his long, tall figure standing ten paces away from the brown-haired individual. " "You should think your moves carefully boy Nightshadow...I would have left Conjunctivo..." TJ was taken aback by the boy's venom-filled words, and the hatred filling his voice. Was he really that angry for losing to some spells? TJ felt the brutal sting of the boy's words, but he looked at Shadow, trying to still be cheerful. "Sorry, Shad-"
Swinging his arm around, the Slytherin boy swung his arm wildly in one movement. His eyes were filled with the flames of darkness, and he snapped his wand efficiently in the direction of the Ravenclaw. His eyes blazed, and he roared with such vigorousity and malice that the lean, tall 'Claw was almost intimidated. "Sectumsempra!"
A beam of light flashed towards TJ, who had to wonder where Shadow had learned to use such a violent spell. For himself, the book-savvy teen had found a book of rather dark spells in the library, which must have been overlooked and not put into the Restricted Section. TJ had looked at the book deeply, and read it's contents for his sating of his curiosity.
He had been scarred emotionally while reading the deep, evil history of the spells, and had hidden the book in the deepest, darkest corner of the library, while the Librarian Shane Matthews wasn't looking. No one would have thought of going there, because it was where the librarian's direct gaze was, usually. No one wanted to stand in the eyes of the intimidating Librarian.
Since he was ready defensively, TJ parried the dark magic with his wand, yelling, "Protego horribilis!" A shield-formed, silvery magic shot up as a barrier, barely blocking the cutting spell directed by Shadow's wand. TJ's eyes flared up as he began to realize Shadow wasn't taking it as a friendly duel. Aiming his wand for Shadow's chest, TJ uttered a spell that would 'lighten' up his mood.
"Rictusempra!" Boy, that would be a laugh. No pun intended.
Post by Shadow Clearwater on Oct 10, 2007 15:18:22 GMT -5
Cursing loudly the boy glared madly towards his opponent as his spell was disabled. What the hell was with all the light magic nowadays? Catching a slight flare in TJ's eyes he smirked softly, maybe this Raven wasn't such a good boy after all.
He had shouted 'Rictusempra!' Shadow frowned, the tickling charm? There was no way on earth he was laughing in-front of this guy. His laugh was rare and saved only for his missus. Flicking his wand lazily he countered the spell with Finite Incantatum.
"Childish...." he spoke clearly. Pointing his wand at the boys throat, he grinned with a dark raise of his eyebrow. Tilting his head to one side slightly, he pointed it at the boys legs instead. Who knows maybe he would laugh anyway. "Tarantallegra!"
He smirked, laughing softly before shouting his angry request, "Now dance boy...." His request was simple, knowing full well that if his charm worked-TJ would have no choice.
As TJ had released his spell, Shadow quickly put up his wand in a lazy parry and blocked it with a Finite Incatatum. Was he playing with him? For sure, he must have been skilled in silent casts, and in that case, it would be harder for TJ to anticipate what he was doing. Only dodging and identifying the color and thickness of the magical beam. Not the most reliable thing.
The brown-haired teenager's face flushed as he realized that Shadow was in for a serious duel. Nothing friendly would be good enough for him. Still breathing from the quick events that took place, TJ wasn't prepared for another spell, and obviously showed it by his panting and lack of concentration.
"Childish...." his Slytherin opponent said, his shady voice ringing out to the other challengers on the field. TJ's usually bronze face turned slightly pale as his new 'friend' pointed his wand to his throat. Throwing up a weak parry, the Ravenclaw stood up and blocked his neck protectively. Then tilting his head, Shadow decided to do something different.
"Tarantallegra!"
He wasn't prepared. A beam shot towards his legs, and TJ had no choice but to dance. His wand jiggling as he did a weird gig he had never even knew he could do, TJ's face turned slightly angry. He then realized that he shouldn't lose his temper. Smiling as Shadow smirked and asked him to dance, TJ bowed while he was dancing.
"Yes sir, I'd be kind to oblige."
Dancing around, TJ finally reached for his wand and pointed it towards his feet, shouting 'Finite'. The spell stopped, and TJ smiled. "Satisfied?"

Shadow laughed quietly, a sly smile across his face. His charm had worked-not exactly damaging but effective non-the-less. Watching the Ravenclaw bow, he smirked quietly. Dammit this guys got style... "Touche..." he replied softly.
Folding his arms silently he grinned, his anger slowing but still remaining. Finite, finisihed his spell, TJ stopping his dancing. Lowering his wand for a moment Shadow's cold blue eyes glared towards him-his hands clapping sarcastically. "Very satisfied Master Nightshadow.....very."
Smirking darkly he raised his head, mimicking the voice he had heard only minutes ago. "So TJ, had enough?"
