Making his way once more to the dueling field, the young Slytherin decided to increase his skills to prepare himself for anything that may come. Removing his wand from his robe pocket, Toshiya closed his eyes deep in thought wondering which spells to work on. Might as well work on everything he shrugged as he looked around the deserted field.
Opening his eyes, the teen looked up at the clear blue sky and sighed. "Okay I need a duel to test what knowledge I already have under my belt," he finalized in his mind. That and to boost my self esteem.
He knew that there was still much for him to learn about the Spanish world around him. The history, the famous wizards, the wars. But most importantly the history and the wizards. There was an old saying that he strongly believed in, Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.
As the minutes passed, Toshiya glanced out of the corner of his eye watching a few first years giggle as they passed him on their way to class. Though flattered, he kept his mind fully on the goals ahead.

Oh, so restless.
Restless was the spirit of a certain blonde wizard. These days he felt so anxious and antzy and fidgety. He was normally calm and laid back, quick to lounge with friends and relax with his hobbies. But as of late, he was unable to sit quite so still. Unable to focus on even the most thoroughly practiced tasks. Unable to study. Even just spending time with his girlfriend proved to be an insufficient outlet.
Outwardly Lucre would never be able to concede it. It was as if most things he took pleasure in up to this point filled him with boredom or dread. And being the cultured student that he was, he hated that he was losing his focus in this manner. Losing it to nothing. All he knew was that he had some energy pent up that needed to be expended. He almost didn't care whom it was with.
Strolling briskly into the dueling hall, Lucre's murky gaze leered over anyone that was not a giggling, benign library geek. He wanted to see if there was someone itching to go to war. Or at least someone he could test his skill against. He wasn't even looking to pull out anything advanced, as he obviously was not out for anyone's life. A little collateral damage might be factored in before its all said and done, though.
His gaze fell upon Toshiya, a fellow Slytherin he had met a little while back. He felt himself relax a bit, as Toshiya-kun was someone he genuinely enjoyed the company of and had not seen in a while. Maybe all Lucre really needed was someone to talk to, about everything and nothing.
"Ohaiyo, Toshiya-kun." Lucre jeered lightly as he held up a greeting hand as he approached.
"Lucre, hadn't seen your charming face in quite some time," Toshiya smirked as he shook the blonds hand. "How have you been?" he asked warmly. "Are you dating that Hufflepuff chick that has been seen with you?" he asked wanting to double check himself. "But in all seriousness, what's up?" he laughed.
Yup Lucre, a true man's man by the looks of it. And to be honest, Toshiya was sick of hanging around girls. All but two who have a crush on him, one was the head girl, the other was his friends Shadow's girl. Seriously, he needed to hang around more guys.
Looking around with a curious glint in his blue eyes, the young serpent pocketed his wand. Well we are in the dueling field. But that could wait until later, he mused as he shoved his hands into his blazer pockets. The day had been rather boring, and with how the world around them is turning, he needed to also wish to see his seventeenth birthday.
"Please let there not be another war," he whispered the local accent blending slightly with his Japanese one.

"Me?" he asked, as the polite and friendly Slytherin asked him how he'd been faring these days. Quite a bit was going down in his life, for damn sure. And apparently the apt student was quick to inquire as to his relationship with the lovely Lucia Highwind. As embarrassed as he was to admit, he was none to devout to the girl anymore, beautiful though she was. She just was not the one to take the devil out of this boy yet. Or maybe he was the demon himself, he could not say for sure.
"Well, we dated a bit, but I don't know about her anymore." he left it with a mere shrug. He'd just have to tell her whenever he got the chance. Admittedly it did feel refreshing to just chill with a member of the same gender, and a rather complimentary one at that in terms of charm. Toshiya was practically a kindred spirit to the blonde.
"So how've you been? I bet fending off those girls has turned into a life-or-death struggle for you, huh?" Lucre mock jabbed at the boy's shoulder. They two had only met a couple of times, but he felt a sense like he really knew the guy. Partially because Lucre saw so much of himself in Toshiya. He quirked his head at the words Toshiya mumbled next.
"Heavens no, only about two though. This young Ravenclaw named Willow, she's kind of new here. And Lethe from our house," he shrugged. "Neither are really my cup of tea, but then I guess only one girl truly shines in my eyes. Though the said girl would never return the sentiment," he muttered.
He wasn't going to ask about the girl Lucre was seen with, that was his own thing. But he just hoped that the girls heart didn't break in the process.
"A war?" he asked confused. "Oh that," he smirked as he looked up. "Well there is a prank war going on between Gwen and Shadow if you wish to join," he began. "Then there is Aeris' and my personal war against Shadow," he added as he began to count on his fingers before moving to more political ones.
"And there's a possible threat of something going down involving the Angelus Morti, Ministry, and the Society of Shadows," he explained.
Looking down at the ground, he kicked a small rock away. "And to be honest, I can't seem to bring myself into anything. Finding a decent girl or boy, getting a hobby to take my mind off the politics of Spain," he sighed breaking off toward the end. 'And the fact that I gave up on the whole Firefox Host Club, though it would still be a good idea later," he smirked.

Interesting. Quite interesting indeed.
So Shadow-kun and Gweneth, two old acquaintances of Tom's, were instigating a prank war of sorts against each other. And it seemed that the forces behind the political scenes of Spain were at each other's throats. And Toshiya had his own agenda to sort out. Well, at least the guy kept himself busy.
"Hrm, well, good luck with that special one I guess. Lord knows some girls just aren't meant to be had very easily." he said with a shrug and rested a consoling hand on Toshiya's shoulder. He never would have guessed, but the two were both crushing on the same cold fish. A most ironic twist, indeed.
"Well my friend, it sounds like you have quite a fullfilling life as it is. Life's just not as interesting to live if you don't have mysteries to ponder and issues to worry over. But don't stress out completely over it." Lucre whispered, raising an understanding hand to touch Toshiya's cheek. His obsidian stare was a little less cold than usual, perhaps because he empathized with the guy's issues a bit.
"you'll find wrinkles and gray hairs before you know it."
"You're telling me, Teagan pushed me into a lake right after I asked her out," he sighed rolling his eyes. Little did he know, Lucre had a thing for the said woman also. And so did Sparky, and if rumor was true, so did their prefect. It seemed it was soon to be a four way battle for the head girls heart. Who would come up on top? Only Teagan decided.
"Yeah Reka told me the same thing about premature graying," he laughed. Raising the pitch of his voice, he attempted to mock his older cousin. "Don't worry that head of yours Shiya-kun, let the ministry take care of the Angelus Morti and the Society," he mocked word for word. "But then again there is the fact that the ministry just freaking fell," he sighed.
"But yeah, that's my soap box," he smiled. "Sorry about that," he shrugged.
"But what about you, I'm sure that you are just swatting women away," he teased.

Somehow, most of Toshiya's words seemed to fall on deaf ears.
All he did was mention the Head Girl's name; Lucre knew for a fact there were no other girls with such a unique name in the entire school. There was no mistaking that Toshiya was referring to the very same Teagan that Lucre was also pining for. To this, Lucre's smirk broke into an uncontrolable laugh. It went on for a couple of moments before subsiding, and he wiped a tear from his eye.
"Wow, that certainly sounds like Teagan. The girl flung me off the balcony of Ravenwood tower!"
"I suppose I am sort of turning away from women now." Lucre said as he straightened himself out and shoved his hands in his pockets. His words were certainly not laced with disappointment for the gender; his tone of voice was actually clad with a new resolve. He had never held such an uncontrolable fancy for a girl that ran so hard away from him.
"To threaten one another into staying away from that girl would be redundant. I know neither one of us would abide by that, regardless of whom wins here." he smirked over his shoulder at the Japanese student. Lucre's black gaze turned somewhat dangerous.
"All the same, let's see if the two of us are really ready to chase a girl like her. Reducto!"
With that, Lucre whipped his wand from the sleeve of his dress coat and pointed it at the ground beneath Toshiya's feet. The ground crumbled and exploded upwards, sending debris and shrapnel flying skyward.
"Protego," he muttered lazily as he smirked at the blond. "Indeed I must agree with you. Neither of us would stay away from the young woman. But why settle this with wands, though it would seem like a good idea now. But she will certainly hate us both if we use this duel to see who should pursue her," he said calmly. "And don't you have a girlfriend?" he asked with a smirk.
Keeping his wand by his side, Toshiya walked a few paces before turning. "Besides what kind of gentleman would do that?" he asked mockingly. "But how far are you willing to go, because I certainly am willing to stoop to even the darkest arts," he smirked with a slightly sadistic flare to his eyes.
"Imperio," he whispered quietly yet all the same void of emotion.
He hadn't been one to use illegal magic before. Nor one to duel at these stakes. However, since that night he spent in the dungeon, his mind had grown clouded with dark thoughts. Poisons, killing, getting away with it. And his thoughts of Teagan were the only things keeping him stable. For the time being.
