The day had finally come. The day of reckoning. That fate would be decided for three people by the single act of two. Malachy got up and and went to the trunk at the end of his bed, he opened it. Inside was a sward Soturi Had loaned him to practice with. Malachy had asked to at least get familiar with the weapon he would be using before the duel commenced. He took it out and laced in in his school bag, his had no classes to day, in fact, no one did. It was a Sunday. Malachy had been given a belt for the sword which he already had on but waling around with a sword sheathed at ones side would raise unneeded questions.
Malachy looked a the calender he had pinned to the lid of the trunk. He hadn't really payed attention before but now he noticed and remember why he had requested this date. Today was the night of the full moon. He grabbed a small pouch from the bottom of his trunk. in side where 7 test tube of glowing white liquid that had once bin pitch black. It had been a full lunar cycle now, and the potion he had started preparing, , before meeting Soturi, was now mature and ready for use, thankfully the timing had worked out. He prayed Miss Birchheel hadn't led him wrong with it. He took one out. it was only a mouth full but it's all he needed. He was not a trained fighter so he need something to give him a fighting chance with out tipping the scale all the way in the other direction and this would even the odds.
He uncapped the Vail and downed the liquid. it was cold and a little bitter. but the effects surfaced quickly.Suddenly it was as if some on had unclog his already clean ears and nose. The was a rush of sound and smell. He could smell the cold granite floor of the dungeon the dut rug st in the middle of the dormitory and even sweat left on the beds around him each with an oddly different scent. He's have to get closer to be sure but he was sure that he was smelling the differences in his room mates. With his ears he could hear everything. His own heart beat sounded like he beat of a drum. He could here Rotu's breathing from under the bed where he was coiled and he har tiny clicks as a cricket, that had found refuge from the cold in the castle, hoped over behind a bed and into a crack in the wall on the other side of the room. This was his secret weapon, unseen and undetectable. Now he could have a chance. He may not have the skills of a warrior but he would have the Senses one could only dream of.

He made his way out on to dueling field he had attached the sword and sheath to his belt once got there. Soturi Wasn't their yet so he sat on a bench near by and waited. He could smell the dry ear as it was blow around by the wind and it sounded like gravel hitting gravel as it settled back to the ground. He hoped his advantage wouldn't become a disadvantage by distracting him. the Empowered senses where new, and on his way to the grounds he had a hard time making everything out it was obvious the it would take getting use to but it was too late now he would have to deal with it. He her Sning's scales rub together as he have a squeeze of comfort, yes he had his friend with him. But was it enough? He doubted it. Skill almost always won over inexperience no matter how many little advantages where added to the underdog. Still, he had to try.
(I'll change this if I must but the potion will be more of a disadvantage than he knows.)
