The laws of the Hunt are simple; they were made to be simple because if they weren't then there would be little purpose to the hunt. The Hunt is a passage for those that follow it's traditions; either one embraces the notions of the Hunt and prospers. Or one's fails to grasp the true meaning that is behind it and perishes. Yet only a few grasp the essence that drives those beings who embrace the will to hunt; to feel raw flesh dripping from their jaws. Humans will never know what it is like to hunt; they ride their horse in pursuit of foxes or shoot at creatures with their rifles, but never do they do it for survival.
They do it for pleasure. Those that follow the rules of the Hunt do it for survival, and from their survival they gain pleasure.
And that was why he was here. The Lord of the Hunt, Fenris Fenrir, had travelled all the way from Britain where there was rain and snow to sunny Spain. And he hated the climate; he was a wolf and wolves were not made for warm temperatures. The only comfort that Fenrir found in this land that blazed beneath the fires of the burning Sun was a forest that was not so different from the one that he made his home in back in England. Before the prey had migrated, and he the Hunter was pressed into following them here.
The prey that he followed was arrogant; something that spiecemens of this spieces at their current age would normally not display, but the prey displayed it and that made the Hunt all the grander. There was honor at stake and honor was above all else in Fenrir's agenda and moral code. With honor; one becomes greater in both mind and body. But without honor; there is not only defeat and disgrace. With such things come unbearable shame. Fenrir had so far avoided most of the worst forms of Shame, but he was not impervious to it.
The First Rule of the Hunt: The Hunter must kill the prey or do whatever must be done to accomplish his goals.
The Second Rule of the Hunt: The Hunter must never leave a hunt unfinished, unless his leaving of the Hunt complies with the first rule.
The Third Rule of the Hunt: Always obey whoever has hired if you if hiring is involved. Only break this oath if it goes against the First or Second rules.
Fenris Fenrir abided by these rules and thus he was allowed to thrive. So now the great Wolf wandered he vast exspanses of this new wood; a wood that was his and should any disturb him in his wanderings; their fate would be most untimely and gruesome.
The Lord of the Hunt, now lord of the Wood, had come and these lands were now his domain.
And woe befall anything that dared enter them or do violence unto the wilderness.
