Geldy had reached the edge of the woods at last. She felt emotionally drained and ill at ease. Her stomach did small flip-flops as she called out to Ani. Moments later, the white wolf appeared at her side, excitedly wagging her long bushy tail. "Hello dear friend." Geldy said with a weak smile as she patted the wolf's head. They walked deep into the wood and found their usual sanction spot. It was a small cove hidden behind an army of tall firs and shaded by their outstretched arms. Leaves filtered the sunlight threw, casting shadows and figures upon the earth. Heaving a great sigh, Geldy removed her Gryffindor robe and set it aside. The simple white dress she wore went to her knees and was fitted at the waist. It was light and breathable material that she loved to wear. It was one of her few special things. Ani lapped up water from the small pond setting in the center of the cove. Her green eyes adjusted to Geldy's drawn face and she made a small whine of concern. "Come here my dear." Geldy said with a smile. The wolf nestled her head into Geldy's lap and sighed heavily. "You are my one true friend little lass. All I need is you." The wolf licked Geldy's palm and closed her eyes. They sat in peace enjoying the stillness of the woods.

OOC: Sanction...hah! ;D
Deus Arachnis Ultimus hid behind the thickness of trees, Out of site of the girl who intruded on Fenrir's forest. He watched her and the other meal. Arachnis was having an internal struggle, trying to decide whether or not he should devour this girl. It had been a very long time since he had eaten a human, yet the last time he was presented with the opportunity, it ended painfully for him and a large part of his clan. Still, this girl didn't look as formidable as the group which came hunting for Fenrir.
In the end, Arachnis decided to show this girl that this forest was no sanctuary -- at least not for students trying to learn magic. The wolf the girl was visiting with suddenly darted away from their little cove, but as soon as it vanished from site, there was a loud yelp, then silence. Arachnis hung the limp body of the wolf on a nearby tree, then considered ways of approaching the girl, and making her realize outsiders such as herself were not welcome in the forest of Fenris Fenrir.
Arachnis moved swiftly through the forest. The girl might have seen a flash or two of movement, as well as the slight sound of rustling leaves and twigs from the trees, but Arachnis moved too swiftly and silently to be recognized as the deadly acromantula he was.
Arachnis was now positioned behind the girl, ready to strike.
Geldy had just began to tell Ani about what Aunt Vivian had sent her when the wolf dashed off. She looked frightened. Ani never left Geldy's side, it was not her nature to do so unless summoned away by Shadow. Geldy stood and looked around warily. All was still and quiet for a fraction of moments. When she heard Ani yelp into the distance Geldy cried out. "Ani!" But it was too late she had heard her precious wolf's last cry.
Well, at least that's what she had thought.
Geldy made a mad dash for the exit of the forest and kept running until she reached open range. She was a good four hundred yards from the opening she had gone thru earlier. Sinking to her knees she cried into the palms of her hands. Whatever horrid creature had done this deserved a punishment worse than death. Her heart sank to her knees. "Oh Ani, I'm so sorry...."
'Sorry for what Geldy?' She heard it, but could she believe it? Slowly looking up, Geldy saw white fur very close to her eyes. "Ani? Is it you? Or is this some cruel trick?" She did not want to feel like there was hope if there wasn't. 'Of course it is me child. I've always been here have I not?' The wolf licked the remaining tears from Geldy's face. 'Come now, dry your eyes. Do you not remember what Lady Vivian told you when I came to you?' It was a question Geldy hadn't even thought about the answer to. Of course! "She said that you were sent to me by the goddess Morrigan and that you were immortal." She sniffled a bit and cleared her throat. "But Ani I heard, I mean I saw...." The wolf nuzzled her cheek with a cold wet nose. 'But I'm still here am I not? My body dies a mortal death but because my soul is what matters I am allowed to return to you in flesh, blood, and bone for as long as you need me.' Geldy threw her arms around Ani's neck and squeezed tight. She would never lose her, no matter what, Ani would always be the most consistant thing in her life. "Shall we abandon this horrid place for some better refuge?" Geldy asked as she stood before Ani. 'Yes,' the wolf replied coming to all fours at Geldy's side. 'let's.'
OOC: I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you there Arachnis, but Ani isn't an actual wild wolf who's been tamed. She's a spirit guide that has the ability to live in the flesh. Sorry about your snack. You can't eat her.
