Until the Lord of Shadows was distracted by the haunting laughter of a woman. A naked woman he discovered as Evilyn dropped gracefully out of a tree near the man. "That was quite an entertaining feat." She complimented the count. "The fool has been waiting to give you that speech all of these years and it all came to an abrupt halt with a single jab of a pointy metal stick. Now that just makes me giggle." She proved it with another ghostly titter.
She smirked. "Oh well...he should have been more action then discussion. You, however; I like your style, noble. Very quick and...to the point." A smile played on her pale blue lips as she slowly walked closer to the count, circling him as to get a better look as the tattoos covering her body glittered and twisted in the sun.
The nymph cocked an eyebrow. "I take it you are from the mortal world. What brings you to the nymph realm if I may ask? Looking for a bit of company?"
She had been hoping he would gain an interest in her. "Evilyn, but you may call me Evie, Lord of Shadows. And may I request you not be so curt with me. You have no idea who you are talking to." Her eyes narrowed briefly, then regained their usual brightness. "I have been watching your progress, your recruitment of the students. I must say you have captured my curiosity with your current campaign. But I suppose if you do not wish for company," she turned and sighed, and climbed back into the tree she was previously occupying, "I'll just resume my post and wait for something more interesting to wander by."
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
ic: The nymph pouted as she watched the man walk away. She decided he was not just any man. Any other man would have begged her into his company. No, this man was someone who wouldn't be distracted by common fancies. He was after something, something big. He might have the determination to make it...not like some of the other "Dark Lord"s she had seen pass through the nymph realm.
She began to weave a vision into his mind. The count was beside a sparkling pool surrounded by trees and large boulders which formed a waterfall at one end. It was night, and the stars reflected in the water. Evilyn, pale as the moon marred by paths of blue ink stepped from behind the waterfall. Her eyes partly closed, her lips moved in a silent chant. The pool Scorpious stood by began to drain and the waterfall slowed to a trickle. Suddenly a flash, the Lord of Shadows was on a rooftop somewhere in Spain. A flood of boiling water cascaded down the streets, washing away everything in it's path. Evilyn knew the count wasn't stupid enough to be tricked by the illusion, but she hoped she could at least show him what kind of power she was willing to commit to his cause.
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
Evilyn grinned and leapt from her perch in the tree. "Don't think me so under-handed. I have no hidden motives, Scorpious. My mind is an open book. Feel free to paruse my pages." The truth was that she truely didn't want anything from him, the only thing she wanted was to join him and be at his side when the world met it's end.
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
Evilyn was exstatic, but hid it very well. "I am unaware of other nymphs and spirits of my....persuasion, Lord, but I shall keep my eyes open for you."
Evie studied the badge he had thrown at her...she didn't exactly wear clothing, so she didn't have anywhere to put it. She resolved to keep it in her stash place, where she hid everything important to her. It would easily accessed should she ever need it as well.
"So what happens now?" She asked as she looked back at the new ally standing before her.
For whom does the lonely cry out for with such anguish?
Skullwhite grinned maliciously, pleased with the interview between Scorpius and the nymph Evilyn. He stepped out from his hiding place behind his mistress's tree in his human form. His hair was still long and white like a mane, and if one stared for too long, his boots began to resemble horse hooves. If one had a particularly keen eye, they might have noticed that the hem of his clothing was never quite dry. Currently, he was wearing the latest unseelie fashions which currently consisted of the common Black-leather-and-lots-of-silver-buckles vintage of gothic styles.
"So what happens now?"
"I do, my dear," said the Kelpie. "Scorpius, I'd love to join with you. My current situation prohibits the taking of human life, and I haven't drown a human in so long..." he trailed off his eyes glistening with longing.bg
Evilyn darted around as she sensed another person in their midst. At first, she did not know who he was, but then he began to seem familiar. Her upper lip curled into a sneer. He smelled like that Dryad who had so thought she could tell Evilyn what to be dong and when in that annoying old-style english; but he clearly was not a dryad. The only logical explination was that he belonged to her. He was her kelpie. "Horseboy..." she said with slight malace. "Wouldn't your mistress be displeased to learn of your association with such shady (haha) characters?" she inquired arching an eyebrow.
ooc: Nothing against you or your character, of course. I actually rather like your style (especially the goth look), its just that my character really doesn't like horses as she stated in the post with the dryad.
Skullwhite's odd grin expanded at Evilyn's epithet. "To answer you first, Scorpius, I am Skullwhite. A kelpie imprisoned in these woods by the Unseelie Court. Evilyn and I met briefly under the gaze of my captor. I realized right away that she might prove a useful ally. As for you, Evilyn, my mistress is currently at the Court. She won't notice if I disappear."
"You've no need to upset that disgusting minx. Faerie law states that if you bridle me while in horse form, I'm leagally yours. As to why you need me, I am an ideal assain. Anyone who got in your way could be drown in an 'unfortunate accident', or simply dissappear, and no one could trace it to you. "I do suppose you'd like to know why I was imprisoned? I laid a curse on a muggle lord who bridled me and used me to drag stones to build a palace." Skullwhite bristled with anger "Imagine, using a Kelpie like a common work horse! That in itself, was not the offence. the offence was that the curse affected all of his decendents who occupied the palace. I have been used in every capacity that moronic muggles use their dull, everyday animals, but that was the most outrageous thing I have ever been witness to! Of couse, Scorpius, all the talk in the world accomplishes nothing, and though I do loathe to assume my equestrian form, once you bridle me I am bound to be loyal and obedient to you." Skullwhite grimaced as he transformed. Fist his face got long, and horsey; his ears growing to match. Then, his tail formed, and his arms streched to touch the ground. His legs changed to the hind legs of a horse, and his hair was much more mane-like. finally his clothes disappeared into fine white hair that was suddenly all over him. "Now, if you wish, you may bridle me, and free me of that abhorent wench." bg
IC: Evilyn shuddered and took a step back as Skullwhite turned into his equestrian form. I...hate...horses... Then what he had said registered in her mind. Although she was overreacting, as naiads sometimes do, she felt her importance weakening with the taking on of this other water creature. How dare he try to take my place! she thought with a rage.
"Oh, goody. Thats all we need, another drowning expert. Anyone can drown someone. But can you do it with class?" The naiad asked. With that statement, Evilyn threw up an arm pointing directly at the Kelpie. Her eyes glazed over and she began to grin like a deranged killer. The Kelpie started to pant and choke as water poured out of his nostrils. She didn't want to kill him without her lord's permission, so she glanced his way. "My lord?"she asked with a sickly sweet voice.bg

OOC: O.o you can't drown a Kelpie!
IC: The kelpie was not pleased by Evilyn's display. Shifting into his final form, a pool of water, He separated himself from Evilyn's. He shifted back to horse form to antagonze her. "Desist, nymph! I have no quarrel with you. As soon as Scorpius accepts or declines my offer I shall return to human form. I dislike being a horse as much as you dislike seeing them."
Turning to Scorpius, he continued, "As you have seen my third form also makes me a fairly good spy, at least, outdoors. So, what say you?"bg
Evilyn did stop her water spell, but rudely stuck her tongue out at the talking horse and added a final insult. "Woo...a puddle." She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. bg

Skullwhite had patiently endured Evilyn's jabs at himself. Both excusing her for her hatred of horses, and not wanting to appear a foolish bickering child in front of Scorpius, but this last was too much.
"Evilyn," he began pacifically,"I mean you no harm. You, however, seem to see me as a threat, and I don't know why. I am in awe of the sheer force of your powers, but sometimes one must be discrete in such things. Also, One cannot drown a Kelpie. Your trick only caught me by surpirse for I thought us allies. Actually The water you caused to run through my nose and mouth, for Kelpies have no lungs, was quite refreshing. So, please, let us waste no more of Scorpius's time with petty squabbles."bgbgbg

Skullwhite Shifted back to human form and bowed to Scorpius before he dissappeared. Then he sighed, quite a trick for a being with no lungs. He turned to Evilyn.
"I apologize for any harm I've done you." he said sincerely. He rather liked Evilyn, depite, or maybe even because of her attempt on his life.
OOC: I can't get the badge to appear in my sig. Can you help?bg
