The Nymph Woods were austerely calm compared to the atmosphere at the school. There everything was always tense as magical students learned their powers and dark manners crawled through the hallways. In pristine nature though everything was quiet and still as mother nature intended. Niobe didn’t stop to take any of it in though as she walked quickly through the Woods. None of the wonder or magic of the nature mattered to her. All it was to the Hufflepuff was a location on a map she found in the library where a certain plant could be found. The last key ingredient to a potion bubbling away in her dormitory that would make all the memories causing her so much pain drift away.
Crystal blue eyes scanned the ground for her flower. It only grew in pristine environments and only bloomed under the moonlight. That was why she had to go out at night but the moon filtering through the trees was enough to guide her. Niobe would have liked to have her wand lit but she risked no magic by wand in such a place. It would likely set on fire and she wanted to cause no harm to the nature around her. The book she had found the flower in warned not to offend spirits. Niobe had never heard of any spirits from students but it didn’t hurt to be careful.
Finally she found a clump of the perfect white blooms at the base of a tree. Her eyes lit up and she walked over to it and pulled a knife out of the pocket of her black cloak wrapped around her robes. Kneeling down she handled the plant gently, remembering why she did this. It was because of his emerald green eyes. His black hair running through her fingers and his warm breath on her skin. It was because of his lips and his smile and his voice. And it was because she wanted it to all go away. Like he had gone away, and left her.
Blinking away tears the red head cut swiftly through a few of the flowers’ stems and put them in her pocket. About to cut off a few more her hand stopped and her head turned around quickly. She had heard a noise in an otherwise silent forest. Someone was there. Slowly the Hufflepuff looked around but saw nothing. “Hello?” She asked softly as she reached for her wand.
