He sat beneath a tree, looking up into the sky from the darkness of the underside of his bangs. A small smile had formed on his face, and a look of serene contentment had accompanied it.
He smiled, humming softly. It had been a good day so far, despite having a cold. He sniffled, watching as the clouds floated away and revealed the bright sun. There seemed to be an abundance of those weightless fluffy white things that day, and they didn't seem to want the sun's rays.
The light cascaded down, shining through the leaves, providing a nice, cool haven for Ethan. His eyes peeked out from his long bangs, the dull blue contrasting with his hair.
He thought of his little brother, Cassiel, as he sat there.
I wonder if Cassiel's alright. He hasn't sent any letters recently...maybe I should go visit him...
Ethan had a feeling that Cassiel would be worrying about him, despite spending time with their aunt while Ethan was at school. Technically, they lived alone. But Cassiel's school was closer to their aunt's home than theirs, which was in Drakborough.
He coughed about five times, covering his mouth with his hand. After he finished, he looked at it, to check for blood. He knew that AIDS didn't make you cough up blood, but one could never be too sure.
The day had been going by fairly slowly, because he'd called in sick that day. He'd woken up with a fever that after a few hours of making and taking a potion that he had been taught to make, it went down a considerable amount.
He stretched, wondering wether or not he should take a walk, since it was so nice out.
