Gabriel didn't say yes in response to his clothes-shopping demand, but at the same time he didn't say no, so Orca, ignoring the eye-roll, took it to mean they were definitely going. How fun would that be? All strolling around Drakborough or maybe even Madrid or something, just two normal boys out to spend their hard-earned cash. It wasn't like he was a picky type, or anything, considering most his clothing consisted of plain t-shirts and bluejeans, but company would be nice.
Jacket. Right. He forsaw the cute blue coat ending up bloodstained one way or another by the end of the day. Gabriel was a wizard, why couldn't he just fix them up after all was said and done?
...Oh yeah. He'd cracked the wand. A brief laugh escaped his lips before he managed to stiffle himself. Wouldn't it be ironic, if one of them got hurt badly enough they needed immediate help, but Gabriel couldn't do anything because Orca had ruined his little magic-stick?
Speaking of that, how did Gabriel manage school if his wand didn't work? Wasn't magic, like, sort of a requirement for magic school?
Meh, you never knew. For all Orca knew, there were classes at the school that focused on, like, muggle cooking. Ha! That was a laugh. Like that would ever really happen.
Oh, well. Anyway.
Gabriel was doing something with his knives, holding them both up as though comparing them. Orca didn't know why, didn't really care, but tensed up anyway. He'd known it was going to come down to this sooner or later, so why not now? He flexed his fingers, watched Gabriel carefully. Finally, the boy seemed to decide on something; his gray eyes turned to Orca, who glanced back just as steadily. Then, movement!
He'd been expecting the knife thrown his way, but not handle first. He caught it, glanced down at with narrowed eyes for a moment, expecting a trap of some sort, and then looked back up when Gabriel called to him. Couldn't use his hands...
"That's what she said."
He grinned again, adjusted his hold on the knife so that it was more like Gabriel's. This should be interesting, indeed, especially considering he'd never really fought with one of these, before. Sure, he could throw it and it would probably hit, as he had pretty good aim, but actual fighting he was more or less clueless on.
He brought the knife up in a parry of some sort, the move more from reflex than anything, and blocked Gabriel's slash, the blades making a metallic ting off one another as they clashed. How dramatic.
"I don't--" He stepped back, dropped the knife down away from Gabriel's. "I don't got much." In his life he'd handled a blade only once before, and that hadn't really been the funnest time of his life. If he recalled correctly, he'd also been shot with a silver bullet during that fight. Yeah, that had sucked.
The lycan shifted his grip again, trying to find a hold that was more comfortable, but still wieldy. He'd rather just have a nice barstool, or some other generic blunt melee weapon. Those were his specialties, after all, not itty bitty knives.
Fine. He'd just learn from Gabriel, then.
Orca darted in, aiming for Gabriel's shoulder -- didn't want to go for anything too vital, after all, Gabby didn't have the same self-healing ability as he did -- and sliced the knife up. He didn't put much power into it, was mostly just trying to get a feel for the blade. Even if Gabriel didn't somehow dodge it, the cut he made would most likely just be superficial, nothing deep.
Come on now, he didn't want to actually hurt Gabriel. Like, basic pain was fine, but it would kind of suck if ended up killing the guy.
