Two AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to...
She'd never come here before. It probably wouldn't suprise any of her friends that she wasn't the biggest fan of graveyards, due to their overly depressing manner. But she decided that a walk around the lake was out of the question, and that left her with nothing but the crypts. Depressing as they were, they were bound to be empty and completely void of anyone that she might wish to avoid. Well... not avoid, per say, but simply... stay away from. The night was clear and the moonlight lit her way as she picked her away around the large masoleums, finally settling in a concealed spot behind one of them. The person entombed within was likely nobody special, or at least nobody that she remembered from history or her own personal encounters.
She then proceeded to whip out a book that had been hidden inside her cloak. It was one that was very dear to her, the sort of book that every girl should have. A diary, the place where even the most secretive of people could store thoughts that were precious to them. Before she had kept it hidden inside the library, but she remembered to remove it before she had left for Firefox. And now here she was, sitting with a quill and glancing at the glowing book. The blue glowing was mostly due to the enchantments she'd put on it, just to make sure that nobody but herself was able to open it. As soon as she touched it the the glowing ceased, and she was able to open it up to a fresh page with little trouble.
Her eyes skimmed lightly over the last entry, the one about Forgoil that ended with her vow to write more. Of course that never came true. As for Forgoil, she could only assume he was happy. She was content at the moment, so she wished the same thing upon him. For better or worse. Hadn't that been the day when they had talked about the muses together, with promises of poetry readings and ballroom dancing lessons? Had any of that come true? She couldn't remember. All that she could clearly remember about that time was the war on Danawi, which had left no clear scar on her. She just had memories of a time that had long passed now; the kind of time that she wished that she would be able to revisit.
February Ninth, Two Thousand and Six.
Here I am at Firefox, the exact place I'd said I wouldn't go to. Having Talon for a headmaster isn't such a terrible thing, but not being a prefect will take some adjusting to. Just the other day I got house points taken away for being out of bed at night. Just think, there were days when I was the one taking away points!
No matter. I really can't care less anymore...
Her scripty, cursive handwriting broke off as she attempted to grasp at a few other strands of thought that were drifting around in her mind. Nothing really special... this school was nothing really special to her. It just made her miss her Virginia home even more than usual, and it made her sharply aware of how soon her graduation was. Graduation, and her release into the world. Into utter freedom. This was what she was wondering if she would ever be able to deal with.
ooc: Not invite only. Feel free to join me, I suppose.
