OOC: First post at least for Yamaroshi
Everything around Firefox seemed so small to Roan. Back when she had been a student there had been wonder and reverence walking into the Crypt for it’s majesty and size. There had always been a sense of calm and openness when she was near the Lake or the Woods. But now having traveled and seen more of the world she could hardly feel the same emotions walking down into the Crypt as she had many times before. It was a more secluded place, being that last time she had been there it was the location of a large battle that left the area scarred. It was here where Talon had clashed with Scorpius and Fenrir, where the height of danger had reached it’s peak. For that reason she was sure few students frequented it for a place of pensive thought and reflection. There was no reason for her to fear it though, she had been far worse places and far larger.
It’s seclusion by students though was what she sought it for today. She didn’t dislike them or mistrust them, for she was a student once before too. But she would prefer to not have to explain what she was going to do to any onlookers who would be quite curious. Roan wasn’t sure if Talon passed on his knowledge of elementalism anymore to any new students, or how many students actually knew what elementalism was. She was still an adamant fire elementalist despite the way she had been spending the past few months of her life and despite the fact she no longer belonged in a magical world. That did not take away the sheer power that brewed within her like an angry inferno waiting to burst out. It was just that Roan had been able to arrange her life that her fire no longer controlled her through raging emotions.
Part of the way she had gotten that way was through calming meditation with her powers. That had become a solid part of Roan’s daily routine since the day she left Firefox. Releasing pent up energy and using her elementalism in small bits everyday kept it under her control and made sure she didn’t lose her temper anymore. Roan had the raw power to be a very skilled elementalist, but not the control and skill that it took. Even though she was visiting Firefox it was no excuse to skip meditation, if she did she was just begging for an outburst of fire.
So she went down to the Crypt to bond with her powers for a bit away from the prying eyes of students and unfamiliar Professors. Her feet were quiet on the stone steps as she went down into the large area where the past battle had taken place. She could almost see Fenrir’s large shape hurtling through the air and down such steps after being blasted by lightning. Almost. It was a bit chilly out as it was still spring but Roan could hardly notice it, whether from her lycan form of the fact she was practically a sun. It was quiet, just as the lycan wanted it to be.
After making absolute sure nobody was watching her by listening and smelling through heightened senses Roan sat down on the cold ground and tucked a lock of brown hair behind her ear so it wasn’t in her field of vision. This was something she had taught herself through reading muggle meditation books and adding her own twists. The elementalist let her hands fall to her lap cupped and reached down into her reserves of energy and fire. It was never hard to reach and pull out as it always wanted out as if it were some sentient being. “Inflamare.” She let the familiar word come to her lips and light fire into the combined palms of her hands. It wasn’t a large flame, hardly a good symbol of her power. It illuminated her face and her eyes and cast a steady glow to all around her despite the daylight.
The girl made sure she had a good handle on the flames her hand before letting out her breath and allowing hazel eyes to slowly shut. It didn't take long to sink into a familiar rhythm of breathing that was calm and steady, allowing her to detach her mind from real life and sink into her powers. A unending plane of fire and heat and light that was unbridled and unreachable for any but her. As she sat there in utter silence each breath and release of each breath made the flames in her hand either grow or shrink, always flittering dangerously close to the edge of her palms like water near the edge of a dam ready to spill out. Roan held her control though even relaxed and detached, there was no need to scorch this ground any further.
It would be an odd sight for any who stumbled upon her, especially those who were not familiar with elementalism. But her doing it out in the open, with the nature that was a part of her, was better than her burning the school down from an outburst. Elementalism was as much a part of her as being a lycan or just being a girl, and had to be tamed and controlled in it's own way. Since Talon had never taken the time to train her she was handling this on her own the only way she knew how.
