Draven stuck out his tongue and let out a Nyeeeeeeeeh!", and Zeph had to keep himself from initiating a make-out session right then and there.
So fucking cute.
Draven made the cutest noise ever and leaned his head on Zeph's chest. Zephyrus tightened his arms around Draven. He had to calm down.
"So what sort of spells do you know, Zeph? Any that would make Hufflepuffs think twice about fooling with me? Just in case you're not 'round to deter them for me."
Zeph chuckled. This would be fun. "Well, I know a spell that can make someone levitate upside down, one that makes anything it touches to spontaneously combust, one that makes your teeth grow freakishly fast, one that makes things explode, and one that glues someone's tongue to the roof of their mouth."
Zephy couldn't help but laugh. After he was through with teaching Draven all of this, the kid would be a force to reckon with. Dravey would most definitely demand respect.
"Well, I know a spell that can make someone levitate upside down, one that makes anything it touches to spontaneously combust, one that makes your teeth grow freakishly fast, one that makes things explode, and one that glues someone's tongue to the roof of their mouth."
Draven's eyes widened in awe. He knew how amazing magic was, but these...they were brilliant! Whoever came up with such spells deserved a high-five. Well, maybe a low-five since Draven was so gosh darn short. But at any rate, they deserved kudos of some sort.
But he didn't just want to hear about them, he wanted to see them in action! Only problem was, there wasn't anyone around to test them on. Well...except for himself. He didn't much like the idea of most of those though, especially floating upside down. Remember, hangover. Buuuut there was one that didn't sound so bad. Actually, it sounded downright silly and fun!
"Do you know how to reverse that tongue one? I wouldn't mind having you demonstrate it on me if you do!"
Insert puppy eyes here.
Please please please please please.

Oh fuck the puppy dog eyes. As much as he hated to cast such a spell on his Draven, Zeph's resolve against it completely shattered. Completely.
"Well, that negating spell should reverse it..."
He gave in. He snatched his trusty wand out of his pocket and pointed it at Draven. Biting his lip hard enough to draw blood, he said, "Langlock."
Wether or not it worked, he waited a bit before he said, "Finite Incantatem." Worry settled in, along with his never-ending list of doubts and regrets.
He hoped to god the negating spell worked. The last thing either of them needed was Draven unable to speak properly for eternity.
After it was done, he buried his face in Draven's hair. He really hadn't enjoyed that.
"Please don't make me do something like that again, Draven..."
Draven clenched his fists and smiled widely. Oh boy! Zeph was actually going to do it! Draven needed to focus, though: missing any part of the spell would make the demonstration worthless. This was a learning experience after all.
"Langlock."
The effect was instantaneous. Completely against his will, Draven's tongue slapped itself to the roof of its mouth, refusing to part company with it no matter how hard Draven tried. He laughed with delight, a couple of snorts working into the laugh as well. "Ah' ih oh OOL, Ehf!" Oh god, how it distorted his speech! More snorty laughs. He sounded completely absurd.
"Finite Incantatem."
And like that, the fun was over. His tongue let loose from the roof of his mouth, Draven sticking it out and wiggling it a bit just to make sure it was in proper working order. Satisfied that it was, he gave Zeph a smile--only to have Zeph bury his face in Draven's hair. "Please don't make me do something like that again, Draven..."
Awwwww, had Zeph been afraid he wouldn't be able to undo it? How sweet of him. Illogical, since he obviously had been able to, but sweet. Draven rubbed the back of Zeph's head. "Of course not, Zeph." Not today, anyway. He'd totally ask Zephyrus to do the upside-down levitation one on him once the hangover was gone. That sounded fantastic.
"What other spells do you know? They don't have to be the sort used to get back at bullies. I just want to try and get ahead a bit!"
Because he'd always been a step ahead of his classmates. Or two, or three.

What other spells? Oh god, it would take years to try and even sort them all out. Sept had taught him a whole truckload of them. Time to pass down the knowledge.
Zeph lifted his face from the younger wizard's head and smiled.
"Let's see what else I've got here~" He purred.
He then thought for a moment, and said, "Aguamenti." he pointed his wand to the ground as a jet of water burst out of it.
He pointed his wand over to a lamp and said, "Engorgio!" and it grew in size.
Zeph then said, "Flagrate!" and wrote in fiery writing, 'Zephyrus <3's Draven'. Zeph kissed Draven's cheek right after.
He then yelled out "Glisseo!" and the steps infront of one of the shops flattened into a ramp.
"How about that, Dravey? I'll teach you all I know, okay? Not right now, but some other time. Since we have class today..."
Then he let a devious grin come upon his face.
"...unless you don't want to go to class. I'm fine with skipping if you are, love."
Draven's expression was absolutely one of a kid in a candy store. Well, any kid besides him. He wasn't a big fan of sweets. But this, this was exciting. Learning was exciting. Learning from his boyfriend was exciting. He was all eyes and ears, ready to absorb all of Zeph's knowledge.
"Aguamenti."
Hey, that's the spell he saw being used last night before he got the butterbeer! He hadn't been able to make out the incantation, though, so he was very grateful for the demonstration. Good one to remember if he ever caught fire or was in dire need of hydration. He didn't have to worry about getting lost in a desert now! Well...sort of. There was still the shade issue, and the sandstorms. And he burned really easily. But he wouldn't be thirsty!
"Engorgio!"
Alright, so that one made things bigger. Also useful. Easier to thread a needle if the hole was more visible. But did it have other uses? Draven's eyes wandered down to the fly of his pants. Hm....no, that might be uncomfortable. But it was a neat idea.
"Flagrate!"
That one got Draven to laugh again, especially when Zeph followed up with a kiss on his cheek. He'd have to remember that one if he found himself without a quill and parchment...just as long as there weren't flammable objects around. He had a knack for starting unintentional fires.
"Glisseo!"
Oooh, he'd read about that one! It made rough objects smooth. Apparently it could turn stairs into slides as well. Useful if he ever needed a quick way downstairs, like if he was running late for class. Not like that really ever happened, but good to know just in case. Might come in handy for avoiding a certain someone the coming summer, too.
"How about that, Dravey? I'll teach you all I know, okay? Not right now, but some other time. Since we have class today..." Zephyrus grinned. "...unless you don't want to go to class. I'm fine with skipping if you are, love."
Tempting.Very tempting. It was a decision that required some thought, though: he'd never missed a class in his life, not once. Not even due to sickness or injury. Even when he was half-delirious with fever he had begged his mum to take him to school. Of course he had to spend the day in the corner away from all the other kids, but he still diligently took note of the teacher's lesson. And then there was the issue of repercussions. If someone caught him and Zeph cutting class, points would surely be lost if not worse. Draven had never been punished before either. He was the epitome of a goodie-goodie. Cutting class would tarnish his record.
But then there were the pros to skipping. He was learning more spells in a shorter amount of time this way. He got to spend more time with Zeph. He got to be outside. Zeph would likely teach him spells that the professors would never dare to. Draven stroked his chin, then smirked and pulled out his own wand. Pointing it away from himself and Zeph, he spoke in a calm but firm tone: "Flagrate." And then he began to write with the fiery rope, grin widening as he did so.
'Like I'm gonna say no?'
Last Edit: Apr 26, 2011 7:50:29 GMT -5 by ~Draven~
Draven's expression as he saw him cast all those spells was equivalent to that of a little girl having baked her first ever batch of cookies. And Zeph couldn't help but keep smiling after he saw it.
What made him feel even better was the fact that Draven seemed to be seriously considering skipping class with him. And then the younger one called out " Flagrate." and began to write.
When Zeph read the response, his grin widened. This was gonna be fucking awesome.
"Seems like you know what to do. I could show you a few more, and then maybe we could have a little practice duel? I mean, spells are no good to anyone if they don't have the reflexes to cast them, y'know? It'd be good practice, as long as we're careful. And plus, doing things firsthand is always the best way to learn. So how about it, love?"
Oh man was he ever excited. Now he didn't have to sound like a total dumbass for memorising a bunch of presumably useless spells during the in-school scenario. He knew it had been a good idea to keep studying them over the summer.
Now he could pass along the knowledge to his boyfriend. Even better~
"By the time we finish, you're gonna be the most feared person in the school!" Zeph laughed. Sure, he was joking, but still. It helped brighten the mood from what it had been minutes ago.
It was then that Zeph knew what his plans would be that summer. He just had to get himself to ask Draven to ask his parents and see if it was okay, because Zeph's parents certainly wouldn't mind him having a friend over for the whole damn summer. He'd done it before. If not, then he hoped Draven's parents would be okay if he jumped over there for the whole summer or most of it or something. Draven shouldn't have to deal with his dad alone.
Especially with the chances of extremely convenient trips to Australia hanging above the boy's head.
Draven nodded, eyes twinkling with a mixture of excitement and mischief. He already had a good idea of what spell he was going to use first on Zeph. Oh, he was such a sneaky little fellow! "Sounds like a splendid idea!" Oh boy, this was going to be good.
"By the time we finish, you're gonna be the most feared person in the school!"
That made him laugh again at the sheer absurdity of the idea. "Don't be silly, Zeph! Since I'm learning all this from you, it follows that I'll be the second most feared person in the school, with you as the most feared." Oh yeah. See what he did there? He giggled again.
"I think I'm good to stand now, Zeph," he'd say before sliding out of his boyfriend's arms. Alright, so he was still a bit wobbly. He could stand with support, though, so he wrapped his arms around one of Zeph's, bouncing a bit from the excitement of learning more spells. "Well get to it, then! You're going down when we duel, so now's your last chance to show off!"
"Don't be silly, Zeph! Since I'm learning all this from you, it follows that I'll be the second most feared person in the school, with you as the most feared." Zeph laughed. That would be true. "I think I'm good to stand now, Zeph, well get to it, then! You're going down when we duel, so now's your last chance to show off!" Draven said, sliding out of Zeph's arms and holding on to him. He missed the warmth against his chest.
"Alright, lemme show you a few more."
He then pointed his wand at Draven and said, "Mobilicorpus." hoping that it would lift Draven off the ground a bit.
"Finite." he said, grinning."And that's all I'm showing you for now. I gotta have a few tricks up my sleeve, right? And plus, I might push my luck if I show off before the duel."
He looked into those gorgeous green eyes and mouthed 'ready?'.
((I couldn't find any other cool ones that he'd like to show XD just wait til the duel, he's got a few Draven might love.))

Suddenly, Draven's feet were off the ground again, but not because Zeph had picked him back up. Well, not with his hands at least. It was a little unnerving to be honest, being suspended in air by nothing but an unseeable force. He was glad to be put back down. "And that's all I'm showing you for now. I gotta have a few tricks up my sleeve, right? And plus, I might push my luck if I show off before the duel."
Draven giggled. "Alright then! Don't you hold back, now." He placed his hands on his hips and narrowed his eyes, making himself look as scary as possible which wasn't very scary at all. That diminutive stature and soft baby face made being terrifying impossible. "I don't like it when people let me win just because I'm little." Damn right! He wanted a legitimate win, one he could brag about later and strut around saying 'That's right, I won a duel against a fourth year!' Oh man, that would be awesome.
When Zeph asked the silent question, Draven nodded and stepped back a few feet as was customary. Then, hopefully before Zephyrus sent a spell after him, Draven flourished his wand and called out his first move. Hopefully it would hit home.
"Langlock!"
Because how could you duel if your tongue was stuck to the roof of your mouth?
"Alright then! Don't you hold back, now. I don't like it when people let me win just because I'm little."
Zeph snickered. "Don't, worry, I won't, love!" he had a few things up his sleeve.
"Langlock!" Oh ballsacks. Draven was extremely intelligent for such a small kid. Zeph's tongue was stuck to the roof of his mouth. He grinned, and flicked his wand, imagining the words 'Finite Incantatem.'
He was then released from the spell. He shouted, "Rictusempra!" aiming to tickle the hell out of Draven.
Damn kid was smart, but he had no clue that you didn't have to say the spell name to use it. But of course, Draven was still a first year, so he still had a lot to learn.
Either way, there was a guarantee that this was gonna be fun.
"Say mercy and I'll stop it~" Zeph cooed, trying not to laugh too much.
Yes, it worked! Well...sort of. For a bit. But then it obviously stopped working because Zeph was able to launch his own spell.
"Rictusempra!"
Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god IT TICKLED! Draven busted up laughing, falling to the ground and rolling about as he tried to get away from the relentless sensation. Through laughs he'd demand answers. "How did---your---you're not---supposed to---how can you---" Well, he tried to demand answers anyway. Kinda hard to ask 'how are you able to talk when your tongue is supposed to be stuck to the roof of your mouth?' when stuck in a fit of giggles.
"Say mercy and I'll stop it~"
Oh that was just mean. Telling Draven to talk when he was practically choking on his laughs. Seriously, the boy's eyes were watering at this point while he squirmed on the ground. "Mer---m---er---cy!" Hopefully Zeph hadn't expected to get it all in one breath.
Zeph grinned as Draven was completely confused as to how he had released his tongue.
And at how he tried to say mercy, Zeph chuckled, and said "Finite. I'll tell you after the duel. It's your turn."
Draven's laughter still sounded in his ears, and Zeph couldn't help but smile. Everything that happened so far that day was linked to why he loved him. And in a way, it made the day perfect.
As he waited for what spell Draven would throw at him, he thought back to the younger wizard's father. Was he a muggle? If he was, then it would make it a hella lot easier to be around him. And plus, they could use Floo Powder to visit each other. But what would happen to Draven if his father found out? Or if he told him? Zephyrus knew that if anything happened to Draven, he would certainly not let them get away unscathed.
But still...the idea of never seeing Draven again, unless he was visiting his grave, absolutely scared him. Possibly more than vampires ever will, too. And it scared him even more to imagine finding Draven dead. He bit his lip and fought away the tears that threatened to fall.
"Finite. I'll tell you after the duel. It's your turn."
Yeeeeah, about that...Zeph was gonna have to wait a minute. While the tickling had certainly stopped, Draven now had to catch his breath. For however long he'd been on the ground (felt like forever) he hadn't been able to get much air. As a result, he was more than a little dizzy. He simply laid on the ground, eyes closed, focusing on his breathing. Don't pass out, don't pass out, don't pass out.
He'd passed out before from laughing too much. His sisters found out when he was quite little just how ticklish the fellow was, and, well...they didn't stop when he begged for mercy. Man, had his mum ever been pissed at them for making him faint from insufficient oxygen. He distinctly remembered getting full reign of the TV that week because the girls were grounded.
Once he'd composed himself, Draven sat up and looked at Zeph. Even from that distance he could see the expression on his face. He was upset about something, and it didn't take long for Draven to guess why. That lull in activity had likely let his mind wander to the issue of Draven's father. Draven sighed...he just wanted to forget about it for the moment, dammit! That required distracting Zeph from it too.
Time for his next move then.
Draven got up quietly and slowly so as to not have Zeph notice, then smirked as he called out his second spell. "Aguamenti!" That's right, a good old spray of water to snap Zeph out of that funk. If he didn't dodge the stream flowing out of Draven's wand, anyway. Whether it hit or not, Draven would follow up with a bit of scolding.
"Focus, Zephyrus! If I were an enemy instead of someone who loves you to bits, that could have been a spell meant to seriously injure or even kill you!" He meant it, too: if Zeph let himself lose focus like that in a real duel between himself and an enemy, he'd be the one in danger of going to Australia, not Draven. The first year couldn't bear to think of that happening.

Zeph didn't realise the younger had cast a spell til he felt a freezing cold stream of water hit him dead on in the chest. Even his hair was wet now. Like, thoroughly soaked.
That got his attention. "Focus, Zephyrus! If I were an enemy instead of someone who loves you to bits, that could have been a spell meant to seriously injure or even kill you!"
Zeph knew he was being stupid, but couldn't help but say, "But you aren't my enemy." He then facepalmed. "S-sorry...ugh, I'm being useless now." He was dripping wet. And despite the sun's pseudo warmth, he was shivering, because he was in the shade.
Oh joy.
Zeph then laughed. "Alright, I let you have your fun. Now, it's my turn!"
He grinned wickedly and pointed his wand at the younger boy. "Tarantallegra!" He hoped that it would hit, and move the other's legs uncontrollably.
