April 1st. After three months, it was finally the day the joke shop was to be officially opened. And a Saturday, too! That meant no classes. Oh how she had loved Saturdays back at school. Though now, she worked a seven day week after deciding to open up on a Sunday to gain more school customers. She definitely couldn’t have picked a better location for opening shop.
The night before had been spent making final arrangements, making balloons blow themselves up, and levitating ‘Officially opened’ banners into the air, putting trolleys together of stock promotions and freebie bags for people who turned up, containing different small tricks for every person who showed up. No two bags were identical… she hoped, and each bag contained one page from the “Roberts’ Guide to Practical Jokes”. Squealing quietly as the final one of fifty bags was taped up, the blonde girl looked at the doors.
The day was going to consist of a wide range of events including competitions, give aways, some of her circus friends had agreed to come along and provide some entertainment and circus skill workshops during the day, and many of the products would also be on show and demonstrated. All in all, it looked to be a good day ahead.
The clock on the wall read “Time to open,” and green eyes wavered towards the door. The day would end at seven in the evening with a huge fireworks display and a party. Hayzie had advertised it all well, sneaking leaflets into the school that looked like mail from home. Maybe Talon wouldn’t hear about how Hayz was beginning to corrupt the students of his school with jokes galore. At least not until a few were used on him.
Unlocking the door and letting the trolleys wheel out, Hayzie grinned as the sunshine hit her face and the balloons put themselves in place. “Let the day begin.” bg
