Though half of it belonged to her, Morgan hadn't stepped foot inside the shop for months. She hadn't even told Malachy about her abrupt decision to leave Spain to play professional quidditch. She wondered if he'd be angry with her, or happy to see her, or something else entirely. She hedged outside the doorway for a moment, before heading in. She felt guilty about making money from this place when Malachy was doing all the work. It had never been her intention to leave him in a bind, but she had made her decision quickly, before she'd had time to talk herself out of it.
"Hello?" She called, as she took a tentative step into the shop, away from the doorway. "Malachy, are you here? It's Morgan." She didn't see anybody, but the shop was bigger on the inside, and there were tall shelves piled with books everywhere. He might be in the back, too. And, although Morgan was perfectly entitled to go back there after him, she decided that perhaps she ought to just wait. She picked up a random book from a shelf, a volume on the history of wandmaking, and settled down to read on one of the comfortable chairs that dotted the shop, arranged in groups.
She was wearing the same clothing that she'd been in when she left Sparky and Orca behind at the school. Sky blue sweater and black pencil skirt with black, knee-high boots. Her right leg shone silver between the hem of her skirt and the top of her boots. Her hair was pushed back with a black headband, and she wore black hoop earrings and a long, black, heart-shaped pendant. She continued to read as she waited for Malchy to appear.
