Well, the weather outside wasn’t very frightful…more like a winter wonderland. As Roan walked through it she could see all the students still enjoying the winter weather with the customary snowball fights and sledding and such. The lake was all iced over for skaters who were gliding about like dancers on ice. And those who didn’t enjoy such cold weather simply took refuge inside with the fireplaces and a warm drink. There were many ways to enjoy this weather! Roan preferred being outside, but right now she didn’t have anything to do! For now she strolled about the snow and the magically shoveled paths, avoiding snowball war zones and grinning at those students who got ambushed. Her brown hair was gathering a small layer of snow which she periodically brushed off, as was her red coat.
Right now she wanted to go into Drakborough and enjoy some of the holiday things that would probably be put up, and the town had to be beautiful with the snow and everything. But she didn’t have anyone to go with, so the Hufflepuff shrugged the idea off for another time and just strolled through the grounds on her own. Aiden had returned to her recently, after Headmaster Talon had left. It seemed he had enough of the man and wanted to remain near his mother, and so the coppery being returned much to Roan’s delight. It was like an early Christmas gift to see the creature she regarded as one of her children. Just made the holiday spirit even more easy to attain.
After walking for a little while the girl came upon the Greenhouses, abandoned by the students as there were no classes, She gazed upon the glass…and for a few moments too long. Before she could move on her wintery walk, a snowball struck her right in the back of the head. Roan laughed and turned to see who did it…and found about eight second years with snowballs. They threw them at her, and laughing Roan ran away and into the Greenhouses for safety, turning only to see them turn on another unwilling victim.
With a smile on her face and a small chuckle the girl took her gloves off her cold hands and rubbed the cold fingers to try and put some life back into them as she remained in her sanctuary from the little minions with snowballs out there. The snow melted in her hair, leaving it soaking on her shoulders, and her cheeks and hands were a bright cherry red. But the Hufflepuff just laughed and looked outside at the snow from the clear glass, a nice wonderland.

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow let it snow let it snow
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow let it snow let it snow
