Well, whatever these flowers were, they weren't tulips. His mother grew some tulips in the front yard, and these were unfamiliar to the boy's brown eyes. He'd hoped to find some flowers here that his mother would like. Heather too. His older sister was as interested in gardening as his mom. These plants were all beautiful, but none of them were something he could bring home. His parents and Gregory were the only ones who knew he was magic, and Greg wasn't supposed to know.
Toby wondered if anyone else like coming to the greenhouses, it was rapidly becoming Toby's favorite spot. He could draw a little (he wasn't that good yet), and he liked to draw the things he saw in here. The other day, he imagined a little pixie girl just living in one of the flowers. Imagine? he laughed mentally, There probably are some pixies in here. He went through the backpack he'd brought with him. he had a glass jar with some holes punched in the lid to catch bugs in, but it would do for fairies too.
He stalked quietly through the greenhouse, trying not to make a sound. Greg had been teaching him to do stuff like that, and Toby was getting kind of good. He sensed some movement from his right side, and remember that in the story books, fairies like to stay in your peri-...peri-... well, anyway the corner of your eyes. He pounced on the source of the movement with a fierce yell. "AHHHH!" He hadn't meant to yell, but he'd been keeping quiet for so long, that the noise just came out.
