What a strange sight to see in the middle of the night. A man walking down the street. Yet, he was heard by noone. Who was this man? Some would say the devil, but nay, he was a smidge less than that. After the curfew had been imposed, noone dared go out anymore, regardless of the time of day. Although the Society of Shadows had long since fallen, there were still plenty of dark wizards out there, aiming to kill them all. To prove this point, if one looked out one's window, they would see a man. this man was called Acanthus.
Acanthus D'Aubigne. One of the most dangerous wizards in Iberia. Some would call him a mad-man, and he could not deny this simple truth, but why was he walking in a deserted tunnel at 4 a.m? Surely, he should be sleeping. These were the thoughts of a certain Miss Leonides, who just happened to be looking through the window, only to see a man, shadowed by the darkness, walking down the street. The strange thing was, his footsteps were unheard by all. This was done by muttering a simple Muffliato charm.
But why was he here? This question swam through Miss Leonides' head like a dolphin. But, before these thoughts were answered, a most horrifying thing happened. The man looked in her direction and sneered. Of course, she did not recognize who he truly was, for he had cast a very strong Disillusionment charm upon himself, making him resemble a middle-aged man with jet-black hair and emerald green eyes, glittering unhumanely. With this, the lady shrieked and woke her husband. As she struggled to get back to sleep, the man outside had other thoughts, certainly more important than what kind of earrings he should wear tommorow. He scoffed at her ignorance. People these days were just obsessed with themselves, weren't they? It would be alright though, the man would make them suffer no longer.
He finally came to an inn, surely filled with guests. "They must be so miserable", he thought to himself, in sarcasm. As he walked into the inn, he heard a few sneakoscopes whizzing madly, almost like a dark wizard was standing there in the dark. Hearing the sneakoscopes, the man at the front desk made a quizzical sound and adressed the new stranger. "Good evening sir, would you like to check in?" he said, sounding as sincere as he possibly could. As the man slowly approached the desk, he pulled out a silver dagger inset with glowing emeralds, creating a sort of light.
Holding the dagger in his left hand and his wand in the other, he acted as if he was simply putting up his coat. Instead, he Imperiused the Innkeeper, silenced him, and handed him the dagger.
Seeing the newfound terror in the inkeeper's eyes, he smiled a friendly smile, one that could only be put on by a madman. Deciding that he would wreak more havoc than previously intended, he removed the Disilussionment charm, letting the Inkeeper see his true killer. Sighing, he made the Inkeeper raise the dagger, so it was clearly visible. Then, at last, the old Inkeeper screamed silently in pain as he gouged out his own eyes, and then slit his own throat. As the Inkeeper fell to the floor, clearly dead, the man, now recognizable as Acanthus D'Aubigne, smiled in pleasure. Looking towards the corridor leading to the rooms, he set off, hiding the body of the Inkeeper in a broom-closet.
Deciding to ravage the rooms numerically, he soon discovered that a newly married couple was in Room 1, sleeping peacefully and dreaming about their future together. These dreams would be ruined, however, by their untimely deaths. As he walked into the room, the door squeaking only a bit, he discovered that they were sleeping in different beds. "Aww, must have had an argument. Don't worry, I'll make it all better." he said to himself, amused. He figured that since there were 7 rooms, he would give each one it's own unique murder. He decided that for this room, he would make them kill each other, so that they may rest in heaven together.
As he walked towards the woman's bed, he silenced her, woke her, Imperiused her, and handed her the knife. As he did this, he knew she recognized him, for a single tear rolled down the perfect face, embellishing it's beauty. Smiling, the man walked over to the groom's bed. He was snoring loudly, so he figured he would Imperiuse him before silencing him. After he had done both, he made him stand there while the killer walked over to the wife and kissed her full on the lips. As the world tilted on whatever balance it had left, he snaked his tongue into her mouth, making the kiss a whole lot more passionate. As she started sobbing silently, he could see that the man was now contorted with rage.
As he broke the kiss, he commanded the wife to walk over to her faithful husband. As she did so, he could see the look of shock, then despair, etching themselves onto his face, unseen. Then, out of the blue, she stabbed him in the heart, ripping it in half. She then made an incision into his chest and stuck her hand inside, retrieving his heart. Now that the man was dead, the lady was sobbing rivers, yet, she could not be heard. Then, forced by his commands, the girl stuck her teeth into the bloody heart, ripping flesh off. He laughed to himself, making sure noone could hear him, then handed the girl the dagger after she had dropped it.
Snarling at her mourning, he commanded her to behead herself. Of course, this would take a few minutes because she was doing it using a dagger, but all the more painful it would be. Finally, when the head dropped to the floor, along with it's bodily companion, the man sighed to himself in relief. Now, that had taken a lot of energy. He figured that to do all of the rooms would take hours, and he did not have hours. Sighing once more, he walked upstairs to the study, pleased with his work, and placed a strong disillusionment charm on himself once more, this time disquising himself as a child. He had placed a strong locking charm on the door, that could not be unlocked with any but strong magic. Pleased with himself, the now 8 year old boy released himself into a chair, picked up a book, and began reading.
