Early morning off the coast of Barcelona
The tranquil sea ebbed peacefully as the Sun began to crest over the Spanish hills and sparkled across the surface of the Mediterranean Sea. The smell of sea salt was abundant, and yet not overwhelming at the same time. The muggles of Barcelona wouldn't have even begun to rise from their beds as it was still too early, but about 25 miles of the coast something was about to break the delicate surface of the calm. The saltwater began to bubbled, white foam spraying upwards as if some pillar was rising from the deep; however it was no pillar that emerged, but the prow of a vessel. Once it was fully surfaced it was a magnificent sight to behold.
The vessel, a barque, was about 179 ft in length and had over 12,450 square ft in sail. Crustaceans and other forms of aquatic life spilled off the sides of the ship's hull of oak and the canvas was unfurled as the ship prepared to sail on. On the starboard side of the hull, its name could be seen on a brass plate: The Ulysses. From on top of the mainmast was a flag that fluttered calmly in the morning breeze, but to the learned observer both the name of the ship and its flag meant a great deal. The flag was the Maltese Cross and the Ulysses used to be the flagship of 18th century Malta: that is until the Wizarding Community found it. After the casting of many spells, mostly waterproofing ones so that the wood would never rot, the wizards of Malta had created the first in their fleet of 5 submersible sailing ships.
These facts were trivial though: what mattered was this ship the flagship of the Maltan Navy and was the possession of the House of Rossi: Julian Forbes' fathers.
3 days later in the Triangle Tunnel
The security at the entrance of the Triangle Tunnel spotted a man approaching them and moved to accost him, but they stopped when they recognized the crimson red and vermilion green uniform of the Head Auror. The dark-haired Maltan waved them aside and headed for the Ministry building. However this was not the calm Forbes whom many had come to respect, but there was an anger dancing in his eyes that few could come close to without being burned by them. His "voluntary absence", for lack of a better word, from Spain to Malta had yielded sour fruits for him. He was brought back to Malta under accusations of murder, and emerged victorious as his homeland's leader once again. There had been many hardships from both ends, but perhaps would troubled him the most was what he learned about those that wanted his head: that they claimed before their incarceration to have been endorsed by the Spanish Familias.
And Forbes wasn't going to stand for a breach of decorum as large as this. He would find Melia Birchheel, use his authority as Head Auror to issue a warrant and bring her in for questioning. If she refused to listen to his authority as the Head Auror, then he would arrest her in the name of Maltan security: one of the responsibilities of being the Viscount. Either way, Forbes would have justice served and he wouldn't let anyone hinder him as he headed for the Ministry Building.
ooc: The adventures of Forbes and Cyrano will be eventually posted, probably in fanfics, once Cyrano has a computer he can use again. As for this post, anyone is welcome to join in.
