Ashelle had had about enough of all the waiting. She had been waiting for the entire year to hear that the end of the BFC had come about . . . now she was waiting for confirmation that she had a family again. Waiting seemed to be the name of the game right now and Ashelle was sick of it.
Gah, I can't take this anymore! she thought, stomping over to her writing table. If you want something done you have to do it yourself.
She wrote a quick note to Marc:
Dear Marc,
Please come to he edge of the forest by the big rock in your best clothes. If they have warn out I have some new ones for you to change into. Please come quickly. This hiding business ends today!!!
Ashlee
Ashelle didn't bother with fancy script today. She called for Vivienne Tenahu and gave her the note and instruction to make sure Marc got it. Once Vivienne flew off she herself dressed in one of her best visiting dresses.
Presentation was important, even in a situation such as this.
She also picked out a nice suit for Marc knowing he might have warn his own suit's to shreds by now . . . she'd been meaning to give him some new ones anyway. After packing the things she would need in her satchel and hiding her wand on her person, she walked down to the edge of Fenrir's Wood. She waited quite a few minutes before Marc came limping out of the woods barely presentable.
He told her he'd been forced to fight Fenrir for the right to stay in the forest, while Ashelle healed his remaining wounds and cleaned him up as best she could. While he changed into the new clothes behind the rock with Ashelle standing guard to be sure no one spied on him, he told her how he'd laid in his den for the past few days, only getting up to bath himself in the stream and to use the 'Trees'.
"What does that mean?" she asked and Marc explained how Lycan's didn't dig a 'bathroom' they just peed on trees or bushes like other canines. "Oh," said Ashelle giggling at the thought. "Well don't worry, I packed us a lunch and when we are done with the meeting we can get dinner if there is time."
Marc came out from behind the rock, he was struggling with his belt and hadn't a clue how to tie the tie. He asked where they were going but Ashelle would only answer that they were going to put a stop to this mess they were in once and for all. She helped him with his suit till he looked like a true country gentleman, then got out a wide toothed comb to brush his hair.
When she was done she tied his hair behind him with a white gentleman's ribbon.
"You look very handsome Marc," she told him, smiling softly. "Come along now, and what ever happens, stay close to me, ok?" Marc nodded and they walked down to the train station. During the summer the Train ran from Drakborough to Madrid for the convenience of the Drakborough population. Ashelle bought two round trip tickets, and she and Marc sat down to wait for the train.
It soon arrived. This was only Marc's second trip by train, so he was still a bit shy of the giant, steam belching, magical transportation. Still as long as Ashelle was with him he didn't much care whether they traveled by train or Winged Horse. The boarded the Train and sat down for the long trip to Madrid and Triangle Tunnel.
At last the train reached the Wizarding Platform of the Madrid station. Marc and Ashelle disembarked, and Ashelle got directions from the man selling tickets to Triangle Tunnel . . . along with some thinly disguised advice not to go there. Marc dare not interrupt, but once they were on their way he asked her if this might not be a good idea.
"It's likely not a good idea, Marc, but it's the only way to see this thing though. I am taking you to meet Fenrir's Boss . . ." she sighed, "He also happens to be my boss, under pain of death and resurrection as an Inferius. It is him we are going to see. You must make a good impression on him, for we are here to ask for his protection over you. If you have his protection, you can live with me in the castle again or where ever you want." And she told Marc what she had heard about how the Angelus Morti Leader had driven out the fake Ministry, and sent the BFC into hiding.
"Of course that is just what I have heard, so be on your guard, but try not to look too suspicious or odd. You may hold my hand if you like."
Marc took her hand gratefully. just her touch seemed to remind him how to walk straighter and with more ease than before. At last the arrived at the entrance to Triangle Tunnel. Either the guards were on break or they preferred to remain hidden, for the two adventurers remained unhindered and unmolested as the walked down the steps and into the under grounds streets. Ashelle Hadn't dared to ask which building Azrael was occupying so she simply looked around for a large banner proclaiming his greatness or other such obvious sign. From what she remembered of him she would be very surprised to not find such a proclamation - if indeed she'd really met the true Azrael and not a impostor.
