Fuu Sunzaki watched as all sorts of people walked past her with little interest. She sat in a wire chair next to a table in commerce central of the Triangle Tunnel. Behind her was a flower stand that gave off an odd odor, not foul, just odd. They never seemed to sell anything that wasn't exotic or hard to find. The smell bothered her, but not enough to move. Fuu tried not to wrinkle her nose and she had advert cerluean eyes when a curious passerby would occasionally seek out the source of the wild stench. Fuu was far too tired and sore to really react to anything though. She had worked by herself at Raven's Coffee, spent the night there, and worked all day again.
The redhead idly thumbed through the pages of an untitled book, not reading a word. The book was interesting, but what it said no longer mattered to Fuu. She could always re-read it later. She had locked up her shop early and just set out as the mock sky on the cave roof began to display a variety of pinks, oranges, and violets of evening. But Fuu really was in need of rest before she departed, and so was forced to take a break on the way back to school. Her short break had lasted much longer than she expected. The early evening quickly faded into a gentle night. Fuu jumped to attention when she heard the rather loud 'pop' sound of all the street lamps light.
"Oh," she whispered glancing around, then to the sky. Only little groups of people remained and most of the shops and table stands had closed down. Not all of them of course. The Triangle Tunnel was really a twenty-four hour area. There were still shops open, you just have to be in the right part of town. Fuu moaned quietly and she stood and stretched her stiff body. She knew time passed like that in stories and when some one was cursed, but she didn't think it actually ever happened. The whole thing threw her off.
Fuu smoothed the wrinkles of her blue dress and reached a hand for the book which she previously set down. Her slender fingers unconsciously pawed the table and before long she noticed and odd tapping. She withdrew her bookless hand and looked to the table. The book was walking itself off the table. Fuu looked a bit confused but darted to the opposite table side to catch it. It tipped off the edge right in her loving arms. The novel wriggled in protest after shouting, "Put me down! I am past due!" Fuu was too shocked for a moment to reach, then released him without a thought.
The booked hovered in placed for a second, and the pages formed something like lips to thank her then floated off toward to cave's exit. "W-wait!" Fuu stuttered in protest and then began to pursue the timely novel. But as she picked up speed to chase it, it simply flew faster. Delicate pages rippling in the wind. Fuu knew it was late, and it must have had a strong return spell or something. She hadn't any knowledge that it could talk, and she wasn't finished reading it so she had to catch it. The book tried to create obstacles for the slytherin prefect, but she manged to dodge the crowds and weave her way through the back streets easily. It wasn't until the book whipped around a corner that Fuu lost it.
She too, whipped around the dubious corner only to be tripped by a elf dragging a cart behind. The humble beast and his 'luggage' sent her head over heels and landing hard on the stone ground. The elf gathered his things, insulted her clumsiness and mother only then to glare and walk off. After the pain in her spine deafened, she rose. Slowly. Very slowly. She groaned and accepted the failure. She tossed her violent red hair away from her eyes. Deciding she didn't have enough in her to get up... Fuu sat. She sat close to a sidewalk, but not on with a brilliant reflection of a last quarter moon and a company of stars behind her.
