Desolate: that was the only word that could be used to describe this landscape and the single structure that lorded over it. The land was devoid of most life, save weeds and several hardier specimens of plants, and the earth seemed a shade darker than the area just outside of it. Life seemed to abandon this place, but the object that represented the height of the Society's power still remained where it once stood. The blackened walls and eerie turrets made quite the sight against those with faint heart, but not to the figure that approached the former stronghold of Scorpius.
Julian Forbes scrowled as he observed the castle and how things had gone the last time he was here. How the Count was in his clutches, how he had lost him to the Black Forest Church, and how the Remnant and Church had sealed this land into secrecy. Only those trusted by Forbes and Bismarck could gain entry, and so it was that no one had been to the fortress in sometime. However, this was bound to change with his new agenda and he also needed to see what befell of the Church in general.
For he hadn't heard from the good Father in sometime and while they didn't directly report to Forbes, he at least was given updates every now and again. So this time he was here in person to dicuss things with Father Bismarck, particularly the condition and whereabouts of Robin Antares Scorpius. Halting outside the gate, Forbes shouted up to the ramparts, "Bismarck! Can you hear me, Father? I have come to check on the status of our mutual friend the Count and I bring word from the ICW."
"Answer me Bismarck!"
