Professor Bryane, Potions Mistress, was back at Firefox. A month and a half ago, she had gotten a letter and taken off. An aunt had been sick for a while, but had ended up on her death bed. The professor looked tired, and it was clear to everyone that she hadn't been on a sunny vacation. Arielle was more than happy to be back at the school, and back teaching.
It hadn't taken much time for word to get around - nurses were dealing with a lot of problems. Apparently there was some spill over of violence on to the campus, and it was too much for the medical staff to handle.
Something like that.
So, Arielle decided to lend a hand and teach the students a thing or too that would keep them a little less ... sick. She planned to do a few lessons using healing potions and other medical items, but the first would be one of the more useful potions. Her variation did more than what it was named for - replenish blood.
She waved her wand and words faded in to existence on the board.
Once you have chosen a seat, fill a cauldron half full and light a fire.
While the water comes to a boil, collect the ingredients on your sheet.
None of them had the exact same list of ingredients, which ensured they wouldn't be able to cheat. It would give them a variety of potions, in case some one turned out to be allergic to one of the ingredients. All of the potions did include the claws of a swedish short snout.
The ingredient that varied was on the one that purified the blood. The potion replenished the blood, but passion flower, prickly ash bark, red clover and alfalfa all cleaned the blood that was there, as well as what was produced. Astragalus was on the list too, an energizer good for warming the body back up. An alternative was salamander skin, which Arielle had set out in stripes along one of the counters.
Now it was time to wait for students to trickle in, and for them to get the water to a boil. When they had gotten that far, she would give them the next set of instructions.
