Already, the town was talking.
The brunette witch couldn't set one foot in the castle or Drakborough without hearing about the new Potions Professor Talon had hired. His antics were being spoken of everywhere, and honestly she was getting a bit tired of it. All the witches could talk about was how rakish and daring he was and all the wizards could comment on was how awesome he had been at this or that. The man hadn't even been here for a week!
It was enough to make one curious. Unfortunately, Adhara Naunet would admit no such thing. Especially since everyone was also talking about what a ladies' man he though he was. She had experienced enough of that to last a lifetime. No. Make that two lifetimes. She wasn't going to give the man the pleasure of showing the remotest interest, because if one was to believe even a portion of the rumors, it would only swell his head even more.
However, unluckily for the witch, just like this time two years ago, she had managed to give herself a migraine preparing for classes to commence again. In the previous situation, she had gotten sick on Ace's shoes, creating a situation so awkward that only tequila and time could remedy it. She was determined not to make a repeat performance this time.
So once again, she found herself standing outside the door of a potions' laboratory, feeling nervous about greeting the occupant within. If she'd had her way, she would never come face to face with the man, ever. But the throbbing in her head convinced her otherwise.
Too bad she couldn't brew a potion without exploding something to save her life.
Sighing, she raised her hand and rapped smartly on the door, wincing slightly as the sound shattered the peace in the cool underground labyrinth. Yes, it was definitely time to let go of her stubbornness, no matter what the rumors were, and give into her pride in order to get a vial of headache draught.
