Ashelle was studying. Again. Why was she always studying? She'd thought to herself if she had enough knowledge, she could do anything, be anybody! She probably read almost every book in this library, not that anybody in this school would ever believe her. If they even decided to talk to her, which they probably wouldn't.
"I hate this," she whispered to herself, quietly enough so not be overheard and not disturb anyone else. " I am so sick of this crap." eventually she'd found she'd read the same paragraph three times. She slammed the book down suddenly without caring whether the librarian caught her or not.
"There's gotta be more to life than this!" she yelled. Then without looking around, she got up and walked out of the library. Not that anybody would really care, they probably had already left when they saw her come in.

Unfortunately, Gabriel didn't have super future vision. Otherwise he might have been able to avoid this terrible attack on what amounted to a lunatic cripple. There was a moment where he thought he heard something, and then ...
Crash.
Some fiery witch from the land of rage smacked into him. Immediately he lost his balance, and his leg went out. Just like it did every time he stubbed his toe on a crack in the sidewalk. It was absolutely ridiculous. Gabriel would have taken the time to be annoyed if he wasn't falling very quickly to the ground.
He landed almost flat on his back, nearly cracking his head on the floor. Ow. Yeah, that hurt. Brooding, Gabriel tried to get up, palms stinging where he tried to catch himself before he'd hit the ground. Irritated and going from bad to worse, he glowered up at the girl.
"Damn, lady, watch where you're going."
Scowling, he pushed himself off the ground and got unsteadily to his feet. Twice he almost fell over again - damn leg - and he looked down to check it. At least it was healed enough that it wouldn't start bleeding. It would still be a week or so before he would feel comfortable enough to take the gauze off.
"What could possibly make you so pissed in a library?" He said, exasperated. Then he stopped, shaking his head. "Nevermind. I don't want to know."

Ashlee was shocked, she'd never thought she could be so careless! "Well, even if you don't want to know why I am upset, please allow me to apologies for my carelessness. I am very sorry." She looked at him closer and noticed he was hurt.
"Did you go to the Hospital Wing for that? It looks serious. You might want to see them to have it fixed." Ashlee would have offered to see him up there but she had a feeling her suggestion and apology was about to get blown off, and so waited before offering further assistance.

Gabriel shook his head, knuckles white under the skin. Hell. "No, no doctors." He bared his teeth in a feral grin, pushing his hair out of his face. After a beat he pushed his roughness away and bobbed his head. No sense in being rude - after all, that'd hold him up, and he had things to do later ...
"It's fine. I'm fine, no harm done."
That seemed quite the false statement, but Gabriel didn't care. He was tired. Anyway, that other girl, the Ravenclaw, had done a good enough job of fixing him up.
"I don't go to doctors. That's all. I'm fine."
He needed to find a way to word that better. 'I don't need to go to the doctor's', duh. That was the ... well, not perfect - a better way to word it. Instead he'd been stupid. Man, she sure looked sorry. Hmm. Gabriel studied her for a moment, silent, then looked away.

Ashelle swallowed. Didn't got to doctors? She tried to keep the idea that she might not be facing someone entirely human out of her mind.
"Oh. No not really. I am in a rush to go no where in my boring circle of a life." Why the hell was she confessing to this hurt Ravenclaw who didn't wish a Healer to heal him?
"Again I am sorry for knocking you down. I'll let you be now, if you like." Ashelle stepped back to let him go by. Why was she so scared?

So she ... was? In a rush? This was all very confusing. She wasn't in a rush, but she was to go ... no where. Gabriel felt like shaking his head but restrained himself. No sense in saying - doing? - things out loud. Why was she so fidgety?
Gabriel had rare notions of personal space - he didn't really care. Yet, she seemed definitely uncomfortable, just by his mere presence. For reasons unknown to him, that bothered him. Was he starting to put off bad news vibes? That would just suck, it would ruin ... everything.
Hmm.
"You're fine. I'm not busy."
He squinted at her, frowning. After a beat he took a few steps, leaning towards her. "Are you scared of me?" He leaned back, bracing one hand on the wall. She really was. Well. This was almost funny - almost.
Gabriel hadn't even done anything yet, and she was already so damn jittery, ready to fly at any moment. What could have possibly happened to make her so nervous? It wasn't like his knives were visible or anything, they'd all been hidden. Wrist sheathes, boots ... the back.
The Ravenclaw had painstakingly made sure to hide them well, rotating, checking for any where his clothes sat funny.

Ashelle took a deep breath and sighed. Yeah what was wrong with her? He wasn't even pulling his wand on her, for pete's sake. Could it be her Hunter's senses, trying to warn her as they once had? Of what exactly? The dude was in bad shape to say the least.
"Sorry, usually when I fly off the handle something no nice happens. Meh I'll be ok. So, what did you need in the Library? Maybe I could help you find it? Sometimes I could swear I have read the whole place, and that's being modest."
Ashelle squelched her eyes shut. It may not have sounded modest, but if there was a book she couldn't find, then it had to be in the forbidden section which she'd only taken three books out of - with permission of course.

"Not particularly modest," Gabriel remarked back. If it sounded hateful to her, she'd deal with it, because he didn't mean it hateful. He meant it honest. Gabriel found it difficult to be anything else in these sort of situations.
She really was a bit irritating.
He doubted she could really help him very much, but it'd be funny to see what she did when he answered her. "Dark Arts," he said, knowing there wasn't even such a class, at the moment. If there was, he wasn't taking it.
Gabriel leaned on the door frame, watching her. "Poisons, dark magic. Et cetera." He made a rolling motion with his hand to sort of echo his words. His face was mostly blank, although one of the scars tugged at the corner of his mouth just a bit - barely noticeable, but noticeable all the same.

Ashelle gave the boy a odd look - and realized she hadn't introduced herself. Just as quickly she realized she didn't want to, if her head girl badge wasn't enough, than too bad.
"I see. Well you can do one of two things. Get a permission slip from a professor to look in the Forbidden section or transfer to Durmstrang Institute. If you are that keen on studying Dark magic you might want to consider the latter in the long run. Good day."
Ashelle turned and walked away. It wasn't so much the insult or the joking about the dark arts or the strange energy in the air. More like all of them together. What did she care if the Ravenclaw wanted to be the first of his house to be a crazed Villainous Dark Wizard? She'd worry about that when he actually threatened someone.
