Evening.
Since the episode in the tower, Willow had been spending a lot of time lurking around the school. More out of sight than in it. Tonight her wanderings had led her to set foot in the library. She had been avoiding it a good deal, due to memories she cared not to dwell over, but her feet (paws?) had led her here tonight. Shifting seemed to be a habit when she felt restless, a stream of random shiftings. At times she seemed to begin to, then change her mind and revert to human form. Or the other way around.
Willow ended up in a shelf of creature collections. Without thinking she began to pull the books from the shelves, stacking them at random. There was a theme - dark creatures, the Forbidden Forest outside another school, A Study of the Lycan's Life and Habits, similar titles. Werewolves, vampires, many other dark creatures of lore. And truth?
Some of the other titles seemed to have nothing to do with the shadowy theme. There were several 'how to draw' books, a journal of plants and their uses, too many things to count. Willow bridged and columned and ... became an architect. After a long while she found herself sitting on the library floor between two shelves, peering through the spaces in books.
A fort. She'd made a fort of books. Too many to count, all titles she felt drawn too. At one point she'd gone off and pushed a cart with her muzzle, knocking books down and hauling them back. Now, human again, she sat in the midst, eyes shut and leaning on the shelf. It wasn't until she sat up to peer out did she realize she might be in trouble. It wouldn't be just for muddying the carpet.
There were pawprints.
Oops.
Willow shrugged it off and leaned against the shelf again, sighing. She sucked in a great deal of dust, and let out a series of muffled sneezes, eyes watering.
