Morgan was sitting in the astronomy classroom trying to get warm again after flying Mondlied. She was lying on the floor, curled up with Asher, who was turquiose today, with lime green eyes. Stupid color-changing rabbit. How's he supposed to be stealthy if he keeps up these flashy colors? As if he'd heard her thoughts (He probably did.), Asher changed to match the grey stone of the floor. Even his eyes went stone grey. This was excellent progress, and Morgan told him so, with much praise, via their psionic link. Mondlied was still outside, flying, a bit miffed that his mistress wouldn't watch his magnificence. It's too cold. She thought at him.
Having two familiars was a rare thing, even for someone of Morgan's bloodline. However, she didn't seem to be experiencing the mental strain and drain that most complianed of. In fact, it seemed that since she'd taken Asher on, she seemed more alert and focused. Her mental capacities seemed to grow, not diminish with each animal. She was in fact, thinking of taking another one on. Something bigger this time, a dog, or perhaps a large cat, or maybe a horse. She had all the stealth she wanted with her current two.
Hey, boss, you've got company coming, said Mondlied.
What, who?
Looks like a firstie, but it's hard to tell.
Well, a firstie doesn't matter. Asher, would you go meet our guest?
The rabbit hopped off, still blending into the floor. No, no, Asher, normal bunny colors, please. I want a reason to bump into them, whoever they are. Asher promply turned a light brown and his eyes went back to whatever was normal for a bunny.
Mon, I need you to keep flying for a bit.
Okay, no problem, boss
And stop calling me 'boss'
She went down the stairs after Asher, slowly, as though she were looking for something. "Asher, Asher, where are you?" She said in the most plaintive voice she could manage. Before long she came upon...
