The wind wisped from the mountain over the lake, chilling the air where the towers of the castle reached their peak in height. It wasn't enough to add any frigidity to the air, so much as it merely added a refreshing rush to the otherwise humid night air. Upon the roof of one tower, with a balcony located safely below, was the blonde demon of Slytherine, Thomas Lucre. Reclined on his back upon the slanted shingles, he held his wand with his lips as the end glowed with the charm Lumos. And in his extended hand, was a book he had checked from the library. He had perused a book from a roughly 4-minute visit, which detailed the experimental use of otherwise relatively remedial spells. After all, the boy had a hell of an experience a short while ago, having completely switched bodies with a girl altogether.
And Luc was pretty sure this girl was his soulmate.
It's not every day a guy actually switches bodies with a girl. And it was not just some anonymous beauty, either. This was a girl that actually took his memories away. He was lucky enough to have reclaimed them, but it still came as a shocking splash of irony to have rediscovered his feelings for her in such a manner. Teagan Monolayre, a girl's whose beauty was almost as unnatural as her chilling stare, which fell upon virtually everything in this school. Save for one person, of course, though up until recently he was in the same boat as everyone else. He still racked his brain at this point as to what exactly could have been so threatening about him (and whatever scraps of trivia he may have found out about Teagan) that the crimson witch would actually go to the lengths of drubbing out his memory. He doubted he learned anything all that embarrassing. All he wanted was to get near her.
Could it be that that was the reason she did it to begin with?
There was nothing else in Lucre's mind that made any more sense than that, and the theory itself was a bit of a stretch. Let's face it, Lucre hated being left in the dark with anything, and his mind touched on nothing else until a resolution revealed itself. It was good though, because this merely validated the gut feeling he had that there was so much more to the girl than what she was willing to share, even though she......well, did lots of wonderful things with him. Even if it was nothing particularly explicit, just being in her arms filled him with an unknown serenity that he just never found in another girl. It also brought him a bit of an edge though, just because he sensed the faintest hint of fear in her still. It certainly wasn't anything he could put his finger on, since it was likely some sort of invisible fear or insecurity that still grips her heart somehow. He wanted to see what was in it, regardless of how sad or horrible it might be. He hated that Teagan was so bent on being alone, even though it stands to reason that no one in this world is ever truly happy alone. If they were, then it'd likely be because they lived on the moon or something weird like that. He used to believe this otherworldly maiden was a prime example of that kind of person, but it was plain to see she liked him now. Was smitten with the fiend, infact.
Hence, his rare moment of self-tutilige in the art of magic, deciding to test something out. Despite wanting to get away from him in the past, that girl sure liked casting the accio charm on the boy's property (mostly the boy himself) in soundly foiling his mischief. He was at least willing to concede their relation to each other as a deep, unknown, special kind of friendship. And upon confessing this to her just outside the dungeons, she certainly didn't raise any arguments to the subject. But it was doubtful this kitten would come out of her shell and actually walk hand-in-hand with him in the hallways between classes, at least not yet. This meant that he needed to get to the heart of this matter. If she had secrets she wanted to keep from him, then that was her problem. But if nothing else, Lucre still wanted to affirm that it wasn't just a figment of his mind, that there was something other than the girl's piercing stare that somehow lowered the temperature in the air when she was near.
Recalling that he still had dominance over the girl's wand even after returning to his own respective body, a theory occurred to Lucre: had he perhaps left Teagan's body with a trace of her mind (heart, soul, whatever have you) and in turn left a piece of himself in the process? Being able to transfigure clothes with the red-head's wand seemed to be proof of that, though most people would write that off as mere residual traces of the girl's physical and spiritual essence through the transfer. While that sounded more plausible.....he wanted to believe that bond he shared with her didn't just wear off when they reluctantly released hands after he dropped her off at the Ravenclaw wing.
Accio Lucre's note.
He casted with some bleak concentration, as he waited for the note to pull from his coat pocket. He raised his brows and grinned marginally at the success of his trick behind this old trick: he used Teagan's wand, without actually touching it, to send this letter to her. No doubt she had it in her clothes, so she would still get the note discreetly.
Hey, Beautiful.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about you, and I have so much to talk to you about. If you're not gonna be out tonight, don't worry about it. However, if you happen to have some rounds to make, meet me at Ravenwood, and we can have a picnic to enjoy the scenery.
Yours,
Luc~
