"Ivory, would you stop that, please?"
Ivory let out a long breath, deflating herself from the position she had been holding for the past several minutes, mocking the stone statue of a wizard behind her. With an overly dramatic flick of her wrist, the slim fifth year flipped her straight blonde hair to one shoulder.
"If you insist."
Onyx, built like her twin sister but completely different in every other aspect, pushed her ebony hair behind her ear and blew eraser dust from her sketchbook. She was sitting on the opposite side of the glass-topped bridgeway from the statue, capturing the subtle glory of the star-ward facing figure before her as it was bathed in the silvery moonlight from the glass ceiling above. Her sketchbook rested before her on her knees. She stopped a minute to let her onyx eyes survey her work thus far.
"I saw this statue earlier today, when I was wandering." The darker of the Ravenclaw fifth year twins looked at the lighter. "I see some great things on my wanders--you might try it sometime."
"I might... or I might stick with making friends with people, not statues." Ivory resumed her imitation of the large stone astronomer. Onyx had roused her from a particularly enjoyable dream concerning a gentleman much younger and much more alive than the one Onyx seemed so fixated upon just now.
Onyx shook her head and peered through the dim light from the stars above. Her wand was on the ground beside her, but she didn't want to light it because it would change the perfect silvery lighting.
"It captivated me right away," the artist said, referring to her subject, "I knew I wanted to sketch it, and moonlight felt like the best time."
Silence from the blue-eyed peanut gallery.
"And it's a full moon tonight. This sketch was Fate from the beginning."
