Dear Lucius,
It is with a heavy heart that I now put pen to paper. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was, being with you. You are everything I ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, and perhaps, in time, even in a husband. However, I fear that we cannot go on for one very important reason:
You have chosen to keep the demon with you.
When we first met, and you told me that you were an unwilling host to a demon, I assumed that meant that, given the chance, you would rid yourself of him. However, it’s clear now that you have no intention of willingly giving up the infernal power he grants you. I cannot stand by and watch as the dark power of Samael corrupts you, and I can tell that you will not listen to sense on this issue. So, I must leave you while I still can.
Please understand that I do love you, and that this is breaking my own heart as much as it is yours.--Morgan
The letter was loving folded and incased in an envelope. The outside read ‘Lucius’, in a large flourish, and was sealed with the Pendragon coat of arms. All in all, it externally appeared no different from any other letter Morgan had sent to Lucius. Nothing to indicate the heartbreak that lay inside.
Morgan gave the letter to Mondleid. “Take this to Lucius.” She said, in a voice that sounded surer than she felt. She had been sitting on top of Ravenwood Tower all morning, trying to come up with exactly the right words.
‘Are you certain, Mistress?’
‘Yes. Just go!’ And without another word, Mondleid took off, letter clutched in his talons. Once he was gone, Morgan dissolved into a heap of sobs, and Dora laid down meekly beside her.
DERP!
