It had been a long while since Niobe’s sleepwalking had affected her. Since the incident in the dungeons she had sent to her mother for a potion that would help suppress it, and since then there had been no more embarrassing mishaps. With everything going so well thought here were bound to be mishaps. The Hufflepuff had been suffering a terrible cold lately and found herself cooped up in the common room with blankets and foul smelling medicines, coughing and sniffling and getting very little sleep. The sleepwalking potion would have reacted badly with the other stuff she was taking, so the red head hadn’t been taking it, figuring the cold would keep her body so down that nothing would come of it.
Well she couldn’t have been more wrong. Despite being curled up under heavy fleece blankets the Hufflepuff managed to work herself out of them and go walking barefoot over the cold stone of the University. Her usually fair skin was even paler under influence of a cold, and blue eyes were closed and lidded. Serenely and calmly the girl walked through the halls, turning through staircases and hallways until she found herself at Ravenwood Tower. She never knew what motivated her to go where she did when sleepwalking, maybe it was the allure of fresh air to tired lungs. Whatever it was she climbed the staircases and was on top of the Tower.
October wind blew at her red hair and moon and stars were covered by clouds. Goosebumps raised on her clammy skin as autumn air hit it, and the student walked over to the buttress of the tower. Peering over as if she was awake the girl smiled a bit, her dreams naught but a haze of grey under the influence of sleeping and curing potions.
With litheness Niobe climbed upon the buttress, standing up with the balance of a tightrope walker or a ballerina. Things she wouldn’t have had she been awake. The wind whipped at her face, chilling her as the Hufflepuff began to walk along the stone, precariously perched in her sleep over a fall that would surely break her neck if she tripped.
