Now, in a normal situation, Tobias would love to be carrying a beautiful young lady. However, when you were carrying a beaten and bruised young lady from the entry hall, and shortly after facing the great Fenris Fernir up many flights of stairs to the Hospital Wing, it was less than optimistic.
Shortly after the whirlind of color, and the rush of wind, Tobias and Roan found themselves at the Gates of the School, shortly whereafter he began taking her up towards the Hospital Wing. It seemed to take longer than usual, but perhaps it was because he was going half of his usual speed. Opening the doors, he called out to the nearest Nurse, "We need some help here!"bg
The journey to the Hospital Wing had left Roan reeling afterwards, and with numerous coughing fits. But they were back in the school with clean air, and she was able to take several deep breaths to clear her lungs of all the smoke as they made their way up to the Wing. By the time she got there she could breath normally again, the only discomfort coming from the large bruise that was on her stomach where Fenris had kneed her again and again. Though she was thankful there was no internal bleeding at all, she knew it was just a bruise. The worst actually was the burns on her legs, but it was only on her lower legs, and would heal easily.
When they got into the wing, Roan shifted her weight so she wasnt leaning on Tobias anymore, and within a few moments hobbled over to an empty bed, sitting down quickly. She didnt need help anymore. A few bandages, maybe a pain killer, and she would be on her way. Hopefully to go after Fenris Fenrir, the lycan that was back on the grounds of the school she cared about. He would have to be taken care of, and she wanted to get back down by the river as soon as she was able to run and that she wouldnt suffocate from the smoke. Talon was down there, and he didnt seem to realize how dangerous Fenris was. He had kept calling him Richard, the lycan's old alias. As soon as Roan could get back down there the better.
Turning her head towards Tobias, she brushed a brown lock off her face and gave a sigh, talking to him quietly. "Im fine, Im ok. I just need to take a few deep breaths, and I dont even need a nurse. I need to get back down to the River with the Headmaster and Fenris, he isnt treating him like the lycan, I need to talk some sense into him. Ill be fine. But thank you for getting me out of there, I couldnt breath as it was, wiith all the smoke, it was getting worse." She said seriously to the boy, logging it as someone she owed a favor in the end. Roan hated being in any type of debt, she would repay what was due.
With a sigh she put her hands on the Hospital Wing bed, looking very anxious to get out of there. But Tobias had called for a nurse, and she could get in trouble for leaving before they came. So Roan would sit down, take her treatment like a good little girl, and get out of there as soon as possible.
If this is to end in fire Then we shall all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night
"You know, you say the same thing every time you come in here," came a dry, yet cheerful voice from the nurses office. This was the third time since the school had opened that Carrie had met Roan in this very room. Slowly but surely, the Prefect was becoming her favorite, and most frequent patient.
Though the brunette couldn't hide the faint surprise that registered upon seeing the burns that gleamed red on her skin. "You know, I'm beginning to think no one should let you near fire, Miss Aliagh. It seems to not like you much." Summoning the cooling balm from off a nearby shelf and placing charms upon a couple of sponges to set to work, Carrie busied herself with a piece of parchment and a quill which were laid on a clipboard.
"So. Who's bad books are we in today? Any other pain, or are you in here just for burns?" The nurse asked brightly, offering the girl a lolly from the box that had been summoned across just as Carrie began writing. "Either way, I can't see you being back down at the lake for a little while yet."
"Try burns, and bruises from impact with the most infamous Lycanthrope in the world at this moment in time: Fenris Fenrir." Naturally, it was Tobias' job to destroy the slight optimism that the Nurse had brought in, with the cold harsh truth of reality. The typical smart aleck tone was replaced by a solemn tone, and a piercing look in his eye.
He was now leaning against the wall, twirling his wand as he usually did when either bored or grave. His hazel eyes were down, staring at his wand. It almost had a hypnotising effect, but he knew now that Fenris Fenrir was OUT of his league for convincing. He would take major work.
Roan gave a sigh of relief when her favorite nurse, Carrie came in. She was sweet and calm, and had tended to her last injuries. Best of all, she thought she would get across to this nurse best the sense of urgency. She would tell the truth, and try to get out of there. And also, she also thought Carrie would be easier to hide injuries from, like the bruise that had spread from her stomach to her chest, and was making things uncomftorable. To her relief, the only burns there were were the ones on her legs, and she could only pray that Carrie didnt smell the smoke from her fire in the forest. It would make things easier.
Roan opened her mouth and then Tobias spoke. She gave a sigh, he had said 'bruises', great, hopefully she wasnt given away. "Its just the burns Ms. Carrie, and the Slytherin is right, Fenris Fenrir is the one I...aggravated. I set his forest on fire apparently, so he hurt me. But that doesnt matter, how quickly can I get out of here? The Headmaster is with Fenris down by the river, he doesnt know its Fenris, he keeps calling him by some other name. And the woods are on fire, they will suffocate down there. Really Im fine, I got off really easy this time, just the burns. So the faster I can get out of here, the faster I can help."
Her voice was filled with urgency as she looked from Carrie to Tobias, ignoring the lollipop. This wasnt the time for sweets, she had to get out of there and go after Fen as soon as possible, even if the Headmaster was done with him. Roan also wanted to teach the lycan a lesson while she could. It was urgent, and even if Carrie ordered her to stay, the Prefect could easily walk out.
"Burns and bruises, eh?" Carrie asked as Roan finished speaking. Tobais's information had provided her with all that she needed to set to work. Even though Roan seemed to be denying it. As she did so, one eyebrow raised. "You do realise there's a way to find out if the bruises are there, Miss Aliagh, and I'd much rather you told me than me have to go and find the potion. Kasey's not been around recently, and the shelves are terribly unorganised, so I'd appreciate any help you'll give me," Carrie explained, tucking some hair behind her ear as she added 'bruising' to the list of injuries.
"Honestly. Just tell me and we'll sort you out. As for going back to the river..." It was amazing just how adament this girl could be at times. Though, Fenris Fenrir did ring a few bells. Hadn't he been at Magic Horizons? Carrie could most definitely place the name to more than one injury she had dealt with since being appointed school nurse.
In a lot of ways, school nursing was more chaotic than being at Mungo's.
Changing the cooling balm sponges over, and letting the new ones set about their work, Carrie waited to see if the Hufflepuff would own up, or to see if she would end up summoning the potion. After all, the girl, as she remembered, didn't like magic being used on her at all. If Carrie could help it, she would keep her wand tucked firmly in her labcoat pocket.
It seemed Ms. Carrie wasnt going to let her out. So Roan gave an angry sigh and ran through her options. Her legs were cooled and fine now, the burns werent that bad, she wasnt held over the fires that long. Giving an apologetic glances towards the nurse, her hand curled over the wood of her wand. "Im really sorry Ms. Carrie, but I have to get out of here. The bruising will have to wait, I have to warn the Headmaster. Thank you for the help. Incendio!" Her want pointed straight towards two beds and a jet of fire came out. The energy it took to cast those two spells was enormous, and shocked Roan, more fire then she wanted came out, and she got up from the bed and used the distraction to head for the door.
But of course she didnt get that far at all, a thick black smoke quickly filled the room, and the moment it hit her lungs she started to cough horribly. Her braething was off, and the smoke set it off further. Her eyes watered, and she had her hand on the door handle when it hit. The fire became stronger and you could barely hear her coughs over the roar of the flames. She squinted and leaned on the door, wondering what the heck she had done.
But her hand curled around the handle again and she yanked the door open, fleeing into the hallway, her hand over her mouth as her breath stopped in her chest and she coughed. Roan ran down the hall and away from the Wing as fast as she could, heading for where the Entrance if the school was so that she could run down to the River and the Headmaster, her eyes watering to the point she could barely see. The girl didnt know how long she could hold out like this, but she would have to if she wanted to get what she wanted done.
A number of expletives ran through Carrie's mind as the blaze began, with the help of Roan's wand. "Why I oughta..." the brunette muttered to herself, before pulling out her own wand. Agumenti! she called out, causing a jet of water to dampen the fire, but already she was beginning to lose vision, and the smoke was affecting her more than she liked to admit. Crouching down to the floor for a moment, keeping her wand up to keep the jet of water going, the nurse took a deep breath of moderatly clean air before standing back up and letting the water finish its slow, but sure work.
If only there was a way to freeze time and put the fire out before it could take control of the Wing. Now, a third bed was alight, and the first and second were only just beginning to die down.
Fanfrickintastic Carrie thought. Her favourite patiend was most definitely sliding down in favouriteness ratings, without a doubt. And then... the spell stopped. Looking at her wand in a confused manner, the brunette snapped back to life quickly and shouted the spell once again, causing the wand to jet out an even bigger burst of water.
It took a while, but the fire stopped, leaving behind three very burnt beds and a lot of smoke. Hopefully the smoke wouldn't start the fire up again. Pointing her wand at the windows to open them and try and get rid of some of the smoke, the nurse ushered Tobais outside.
Closing the door and taking a deep, panicky breath, her first thought was: I can't even control my own patients! I'm going to be fired! I can't be fired, please don't let them fire me... but in seconds, her mind was back on the task. "Are you okay? Does your chest hurt any inside? Breathing okay?" Carrie asked, looking the boy up and down.
"I'm fine Nurse, but Roan is the one you should be worried about. Try and clear out the smoke, I'm going to make sure she does not hurt herself even further." Tobias had coughed slightly, and before the nurse could stop him, he had his wand out and was half-way down the hallway sprinting as fast as he could. His cloak was flying in the air behind him, before he directed his wand to his own feet, and concentrated on the silent incatation for the Slip-Skate charm.
His feet seemed to be coated in a silverish-blue subsance, and he stopped running. But the Slytherin kept moving, sliding and gaining speed along the stairs and occasionally the walls after sharp turns. Father had told him that this was helpful especially going down slopes to intercept the target. Quote unquote. It was only a matter of about thirty seconds before he found Roan, running towards the Entrance. "Not if I have anything to say about it....Petrificus Totalus!"
Direct hit.
Tobias stopped when he reached Roan, and leaned over her petrified face. "I've heard that you dont like having spells used on you, but it is for your own good. The Headmaster was at Triangle Tunnel and appparently faced the very same Lycan. He can handle himself. I also heard that he faced Count Rob Scorpius...You would only harm yourself." The solemn tone in his voice had not left, but he then stood and corrected himself. "Wingardium Leviosa."
OOC: Pardon my RPing quality guys, I had some issues today, Im not in a great mood
BIC: Roan was going around corners, her feet slipping here and there, and she kept her arm over her mouth and tried to squint through her eyes that were becoming clearer and clearer by the moment as she got furthur away from the horrible smoke of the wing. She would be there soon, able to either go after the lycan herself and teach him a lesson, or run into the Headmaster and the lycan and tell him what was going on, because he didnt seem to be taking the great lycan seriously after all Roan had said, because the roar of the flames down by that part of the river was just so bad, hearing was nearly impossible.
It was a complete surprise as the full body bind charm hit her dead on in the back, her eyes went wide and her breath escaped her chest for a moment. Magic. She hated it beyond everything else when magic was cast on her, the unpredicatble element of a wizard, anything could come out of that wand. Let her face something that would break her arms and bruise and burn her, not something that could kill her in a moments notice. She hit the ground with a thud, and a spike of pain through her chest where the large bruise from Fenris's knee was. She let out a soft cry, her breathing was bad enough as it was, what was Tobias's problem. She was trapped, simple as that.
The boy came over and she glared at him through panicked eyes, not able to do much more. Being at the mercy of a Slytherin was never fun at all. Why didnt he just let her go? She would have been fine, she always ended up fine. Roan struggled against the full body bind charm as she had struggled against a stun charm before, to no avail, she didnt have the energy right now to match wits with a spell. The girl grimaced again and closed her eyes as yet another spell hit her. It seemed Roan would be returning to the nurse whether she liked it or now.
Oh crud. Having spent yet another morning flipping through countless texts (he was already an eighth through the curses section!), Muryllis had decided to, with nobody around, test out a couple on his old friend, the Duke de Bibliothèque. Lining up his impressive fifteen inch yew wand, the core consisting of dragon heartstring soaked heartily in belladonna extract, he fired off a very potent metal melting charm, at the same time lifting the molten soldier into the air. Then, he used a bit of knowledge he picked up in a book detailing various Muggle tidbits of knowledge. In this case, the reasons for the Chyrnobl accident (silly Muggles, he thought). Here, with the molten duke floating in the air, he conjured up a bowl of water under him. Sitting himself behind a table, he stuck out his arm, flicked his wand, and let the figureless metal creation fall into the water.
Oh what fun it is to ride on a one-horse open sleigh circlulated through his mind, shrouded in complete randomosity. The water had gotten so hot that it had split, in turn exploding. There wasn't enough power for anything bad to happen, but Muryllis's arm had been sprayed with tiny droplets of liquid bronze, his wand flying harmlessly back under a shelf. Sweet, he said, noting the combination as he retrieved his wand and restored everything to their previous states. His arm, however, wasn't in the best condition, a searing white-hot pain burning through it like acid. The unfortunate part was that this was his wand hand, so he fumbled through a few test swings before applying a magical pain-reducing enchantment. Keeping the sleeve down, he decided it would be best to see a nurse; his own prowess in healing magic was definately not as good as his Charms power.
His trek down to the floor of the hospital wing was relatively uneventful, save for a first year here and there giggling at the fact that he stuck a quill (dry, mind you) into his pony tail; quick access is a virtue, you silly fledglings, he reasoned, merely turning his head away from them and continuing on. Arriving down at the infirmary, he was greeted by a rather unusual sight. Carrie, his favorite nurse at the moment, with a rather panicstricken look on her face. Lying among her were the smoldering remains of beds; his nose was filled with the sweet smell of burnt things. Glancing around, he noted two streaks of silvery blue; the long, curving lines looked oddly familiar like those left over from the charm he had been taught by Tobias, the Slip-Skate charm. Indeed.
His wand still held in his left hand, he ran down the stairs - no Slip-Skating for him, lest he fell and damaged his arm even more - following the trail until he reached the Entrance Hall; an odd sight greeted him, with a rather exhasperated-looking Roan laying on the ground, obviously petrified, the winning Tobias looking down upon her. "Tobias," Muryllis called, his voice stern and forbidding, "might I ask what you are doing with our good Roan petrified at your feet? And why is the infirmary a smoldering pile of rubble? Speak, Tobias - what have you done this time?" With that, he passed his wand to his right hand, flicking at painfully to release Roan from her bonds (though magically rooting her feet to the ground, lest she had a part in this and wished to escape.) The sleeve of his robe came down for an instant as he used his wand, revealing the swollen hand and the numerous blots of metal dotting the skin. "So then, what has happened?"
Mury was an unseen factor by appearing out of nowhere. Tobias turned to his partner, and smiled slightly. He also noted that the residue from his Slip-Skate charm. Going to have to watch that...
"Judging by your hand, I should be asking you the same thing. But to tell the truth, I was charged with making sure Roan stayed in the Hospital Wing and protect her, but she tried to makea dash for the forest and fight Fenris Fenrir. So naturally, without hurting her, I did what was necessary to make sure she did not hurt herself further." He explained then exactly about Roan's little escape, and capture.
"I'd really get that hand looked at Mury. Could become infected. I've got everything handled down he-" Tobias HAD been taking a step, before he sliped on the residue of his own charm. He fell backwards, and his head hit the stones of the floor, while a small jet shot out of his wand and hit Roan, freeing her.
Tobias Selther, had accidently knocked himself out.
Roan was surprised when Muryllis came, and would have rolled her eyes had the opportunity been there, had she not been stunned at least. He was there to help it seemed, blaming Tobias on the fire in the Hospital Wing. Let him think that, it wouldnt last that long, because Tobias would dispute it. With a flick of the wand from the boy, Roan was released from the bonds, hover and full body bind, and hit the stone ground with a painful thud. "What is it with you people? Are you trying to make me suffocate!?" She asked quietly as all the breath was once again knocked from her chest, and the bruise throbbed painfully.
But she was free, and her luck was looking up. Tobias didnt see that they were near stairs, and managed to knock himself out by falling, and she found herself freed from even little traces of the full body bind. Roan made to run again, but her feet were rooted to the ground. The girl rolled her eyes, knowing that the Ravenclaw probably did that. She growled and took her own wand out of her robes where she hadnt been able to access it earlier. "Finite Incantatum!" She said in her hoarse voice, nulling the spell on her feet, it took a few deep breaths and several deep coughs before she was able to push herself off the ground, and started running down the hall again and heading for the Entrance Hall.
Before she was out of sight of the boys, she turned and aimed a spell at them both, two jets of light. "Petrificus Totalus!" But Roan didnt wait to see if they hit, she just fled down the hall, her eyes still watering and her chest hurting from all the times she had been thrown to the ground and such. The boys thought they had been helping her with the magic, they hadnt. Right now the only thing that could help Roan would be peace of mind, and she was heading to the place that could happen at.
Tobias's excellent display of acrobatic prowess was quite charming to watch; that is, until Muryllis heard a rather faint Crack! as the Slytherin's head came in contact with the stone floor. Obliterating the remains of the slick creation with a twirl of his wand, he proceeded to look over Tobias's injury, noting a manly red mark on the back of his head. "Don't worry, you'll live," he observed; this is not, however, the most desirable of ways for a Shadow to go out of combat. You moron, Tobias... Muryllis's chuckle ended abruptly as he heard Roan execute her plan of escape. 'Finite Incantatum!' she shouted, freeing herself from the magical roots at her feet. It was here that she turned tail and ran, leaving Muryllis standing over the fallen Tobias.
"How completely rude of you," he shouted, as the two bolts of petrifying energy came speeding towards himself and Tobias. Tobias will live, he thought, as he blocked the spell with his wand as a swordsman would expertly parry a blow from an opponent. Taking on the image of that master swordsman yet again, he performed a perfect riposte, coming back at Roan with that same swing of the wand; this time, he silenced her, pouring all the energy he had accumulated since their fateful meeting in the dungeon to form a verbal silence that she would definately not be able to disenchant with her meager experience with silent casting. "Told you I would need to give you silent casting lessons; otherwise, you are simply setting yourself up for the noose," he laughed, preparing the final spell for the moment. A swirl and a vertical flick toward the running figure of the girl sent invisible ropes out at her. These ethereal bindings promptly succeeded in tripping her, then wrapping around her legs and pulling her back to the caster, ever slowly and victoriously. As this was happening, Muryllis disarmed her as well, summoning the girl's wand (she has gotten a new one already?) to his waiting hand, then promptly to his pocket.
"Now then, Miss Roan; methinks we have a bit to sort out, eh? And please, don't try docking points - you clearly broke a few rules to get to this setting, so lets just cooperate." Calling the ghostly ropes to disperse, he rooted her to the ground yet again, afterwards returning her voice. She stood about three yards from Tobias and Muryllis, and her wand was in the inventive Ravenclaw's possession; she would have to cooperate this time.
Roan felt the silencing charm hit her hard, and her eyes went wide, but that didnt stop her. Her fear of magic was getting better, but Tobias and Muryllis were seriously pushing their luck today with it, they should just let her go, let her run back to the River, she would be alright, she was still in a fighting state. At least she would have been had Muryllis not cast of this next spell. What was with these two? Tobias knew that she was bruised, and yet both of them insisted on knocking her down to the ground, it was obsurd. The spell that bound her managed to trip her and she landed flat on her side, and opened her mouth and would have cried out had she had a voice as a sharp pain flew through her stomach and chest.
Breath Roan, you have to breath, you have to breath! Her concious was screaming at her as the girl was breathing shallowly, coughing silently every few moments, still recovering from long exposure to smoke that night. As she was practically dragged back to Muryllis her brown hair cascaded behind her and over her face, and Roan held her bodly limply, all the fight out of her. She was just shocked from the magic, had her eyes been open you would have been able to see the panic in them, and Muryllis would be able to see her breathing patters associated with this. It angered the Hufflepuff to no end that the one who knew of her obvious fear of magic still cast it on her, for no reason. He had actually no reason at all to make her stay, and yet he was casting spells on her.
When she was back near him she let out a sigh of relief as the bonds that had taken her hands and feet were removed, and it only occured to her then that her wand was not in her hand anymore, the Ravenclaw had it. She cursed this silently when she knew she had no more magic in her and nothing that could help that matter. Her head was groggy and spinning as she was upright again, standing with her feet rooted. The effects the magic had on her made her face go pale when she opened her eyes and saw Muryllis's wand in his hand. She didnt bother standing, everything hurt too much to remain in that position, she eased herself slowly down sitting and lay down even slower so that her back met cool stone, her hands on her head that was beginning to pound with a migraine.
"Go away Muryllis, just leave me be. If you dont have the decency to let me go down to the River and do the battle that I have to eventually, then just leave me here in the hallway. Just no more magic, you know better then anyone what that does to me, you should be acting with that knowledge, not casting spells on me. Shame on both of you, shame. I should take points, but Im not going to, just leave me be here please." She was pleading with the two of them, even though the Slytherin was clearly knocked out. Tear began to run down her face as she wrapped her arms around her chest where the bruising hurt most, and just waiting for the two students to leave. It was hard to breath with the panic that had overwhelmed her, and she wanted the two gone so they couldnt see.
