The Sun was wavering in the sky as it slowly retreated to it's palace in the west. What little light was left behind heralded the coming of the night but it was not there yet. The lingering rays of the golden orb lazily shown through the glass windows of the Infirmary and if anyone was in there they would've noticed the door slowly start to open. It made little noise and it opened wider to reveal a face that the university hadn't seen in some time. For all intents and purposes he had dropped off of the map, not from loathing of these halls, but from the fear of what he might do in them now.
For he had become cursed, afflicted by the sinister methods of the Unknown Wizard, and he was slowly losing control over what he was. That was why he had abandoned the school and his friends...abandoned the one that he loved. He told himself that it was to protect them, but perhaps he just didn't want to admit that he had been driven by his own cowardince. There had been those that wanted to help him, such as Talon and Sylph among others, but he had scorned their aid as his affliction took a stronger hold over him.
Now he had covered the breadth of Europe looking for a way to undo the curse and no matter what methods he tried he could still hear the whispers of that voice telling him that he was his servant. The only thing that alleviated those horrid suggestions was to numb himself, thereby slowly himself down, and since whatever seed had been planted relied directly on Forgoil's response then it would become placid. Closing the door behind him, the gray-haired man walked briskly over to the medicinal cabinet but was taken aback when he looked into the mirror on the outside of it.
For what he saw wasn't his own tired and unkept face but the face of his tormentor: irises blazing with the fires of Pandamonium. Backpeddling away from that face, Halifirien bumped into a chair and fell over it onto his back. Crying out in pain the professor pulled himself up by grabbing onto the side of a bed and shakily returned to the cabinet. "It's not real. He's not here. It's a trick that's all: there isn't anyone else in here besides me," muttered Forgoil to himself as he slowly opened the cabinet. His harrowed eyes quickly scanned over the labeling of the vials and found what he was looking for: Numbing Agent. Pocketing several vials, Forgoil locked up the cabinet and headed for the exit.
