"AHHH-CHOOO!"sneezed the third year as she walked towards the Hospital Wing with one tissue out of many in her hand that was pulled from the box in her Ravenclaw cloak pocket. The young Ravenclaw had heard rumors of floating potion bottles meant to cure said common cold and had gone to the Hospital Wing to see if those rumors were true.
Although Selena was still wearing her golden phoenix stone necklace, she felt the room grow colder than it normally should be in winter. The necklace did keep the nightmares away from her but it also prevented her from using her other psychic capability. That included being able to sense the minds of others inside the room.
The third year glanced around the room and saw no floating glass bottles. Darn, did that mean that there was no potion to cure the common cold? That thought made her body shiver but it could also be from the fever that came along with the illness.
"A-a-anyone h-h-here?"asked Selena before sneezing loudly once again and quickly blew her nose in the once clean tissue her hand which she quickly tossed in a nearby waste bin. She sat down on one of the cots and waited to see if anyone heard her.

This had never happened before. Ever. And the witch had NO idea how to handle it. Of all the miscast spells, hexes, and jinxes she had ever encountered this one had to be the worst. Rezna groaned as another hiccup make her chest jump. At the same instant a glass bottle shattered on counter before her.
"Honestly!" the nurse exclaimed in frustration, as she pulled out her wand to quickly fix the damage.
"Repar-ick!"
Instead of repairing the broken glassware, it disappeared entirely. Rezna's green eyes blazed with fury but she did not dare scream out her exasperation, Merlin forbid she hiccuped in the process. Instead, a private moment of arm waving, feet stomping, mental screaming followed. Breathing hard, the witch waited for another wave of magical instability. Three seconds went by. Five. Ten. Nothing.
Then... a sharp spasm made the papers on her desk levitate of their own accord.
It was utterly ridiculous that the Nurse of Firefox University, albeit young, but still rather accomplished witch who could cure the affects of Dark Magic could not cure a rather unruly set of hiccups. Ridiculous.
The nurse had tried every remedy she could think of. Calming draught, finite incantatem, even standing on her head and drinking water upside down. She spent all morning trying everything wizards and muggles had ever deemed a successful trick in curing the damn things. NOTHING worked. Rezna was about to resort to reading 1000 Silly Things Muggles Have Done to Cure Hiccups Through The Ages for inspiration when a loud sneeze and an unfamiliar voice sounded from the main hall beyond.
Hesitantly, the nurse left her room and slowly made her way down the hallway, hoping with all her heart it wasn't some castle-wide emergency that needed her attention. Because she really was more of a liability than an asset in her present condition. Pushing the door open, the witch peaked out into the main room.
At the opposite end of the long chamber sat a young Ravenclaw flanked by tissue boxes. Rezna set out a sigh of relief. This wasn't so bad.
"How-can-I-help-you?" she gasped out as quickly and loudly as possible. But it was no use. Before Rezna could clamp her mouth shut, a loud hiccup erupted and caused one of the chairs in the room to turn into a large poinsettia plant.DERP!

Selena's silver orbs simply blinked at the entrance of the nurse before quickly covering her nose with a clean tissue and sneezed in it. The third quickly mentally made a note to thank Morgan for the golden phoenix stone necklace as the Ravenclaw cannot predict what could have happened if she didn't wear it. She can imagine chaos but in what form, she did not know.
The Ravenclaw quickly crumpled the tissue in her hand and tossed it in the nearby trash can and missed. Oh well. "C-C-Common c-cold, M-M-Miss.....?"answered Selena as she glanced at what used to be the chair and is now a poinsettia due to a case of the hiccups on the nurse's part.
The third year giggled for a few moments before clamping her hand over her own mouth because she did not want to disrespect staff. Selena feared being the cause of trouble and anger as in the past, she had been though they were mostly unintended. Her psychic capability had mainly caused more bad than good so she kept them quiet for the most part.
The only ones aware of them would be Morgan, Malachy who only knew of her mind reading, and Charlie the vampire who had attempted to kill her to protect himself from one of her own visions. Professor Ryder came close to finding out once when she had fainted in the library because of a vision but that was over a year ago. Morgan had persuaded her to talk to Headmaster Talon but he wasn't there, only Professor Forgoil who seemed out of it and may not have completely understood her message. There was no way Selena was telling the new Divination professor as she had disliked her from the start of the year and she was afraid of the other professors, even Talon.
Selena sneezed again but did not have time to grab a tissue so she covered the sneeze with her hands. "....Eeew...."muttered the third year as she looked down at her now snotty hands. Grossness.

Rezna heard the girl giggle at the new change of decoration, and had to admit, it was pretty funny. And right on with the season too. Although the witch had not been thinking of a poinsettia when one magically appeared in place of her chair. The unpredictability of her predicament was getting to be quite alarming.
Turning her attention back to the Ravenclaw, the nurse sized up her options. Had the girl come to visit a day earlier, Rezna would have had her skipping out of the Hospital Wing in 100% good health before she could even say the word "Quidditch." Things were a bit more complicated with the hiccup-chaos-factor mixed into the equation.
A loud sneeze brought Rezna back to the present. The poor girl was inspecting her hands with a disgusted disposition. A scourgify spell would do the trick of getting that snot off her hands, but the nurse dared not pull out her wand to perform the deed. For all she knew, the girl's hands would disappear along with the mucus lining.
"This way," Rezna called, waving the girl to come forward. If the blonde didn't dare get near the pepperup potion the Ravenclaw needed, then the girl would have to get it for herself. Under appropriate guidance, of course.
"Towel," the nurse added, pointing to the towel rack she had waiting right next to the door. "For your han- ICK!"
Rezna groaned and cast a weary gaze about her, looking for what horrible magic she had unintentionally performed now. Did the roof disappear? Or maybe she levitated a bed toward the ceiling? But, miraculously, it looked as though nothing had happened. The witch visibly relaxed. Maybe it was over. Maybe, just maybe, she could get back to living out the day in peace.
"Hiccups, horrible things," she explained to the Ravenclaw. "My magic's been going haywire all day. I think it's stopped now."
What Rezna Lardale did not know was that her hair color had turned from light blonde to bright fuschia. 2162

Selena is disgusted with her snotty hands and is feeling sick due to the common cold illness. It wasn't her fault that she got sick today of all days when the school nurse had a horrible case of the hiccups. When the nurse motioned her to the towel rack, the young Ravenclaw had gladly taken a single towel to clean her hands before becoming startled from the woman's hiccup.
Even though her psychic capability is held back by the golden coloured phoenix stone pendant, she can still sense the nurse's discomfort. Selena considered taking it off if the woman cannot magic from her hiccups. She glanced up at the woman and noted the bright colour of the nurse's hair. The third year giggled once again as Renza commented on magic hiccups and that she thought it stopped.
Despite her current fear of authority, Selena kept giggling at the bright fuschia hair until a harsh coughing fit interrupted her. Ugh, Selly hated being sick.

More giggling. Rezna tilted her head in curiosity as to what set the Ravenclaw off this time around. But as the latter did not offer any clarification, the witch just motioned for the student to follow her. The double doors of the Hospital Wing opened to a short hallway lined with windows with three doors on either side of the hall. One led to Rezna's private quarters, where a stone dragon and kneazle were loudly settling their differences. Her two charges got along pretty well most days, but with so much static magic in the air the little kitten-lion cub was having some rather obnoxious temper reactions and the Wavetorrent was not putting up with his antics.
Passing the door to her quarters with a loud sigh, the witch instead turned toward the opposite door, leading to the Hospital Wing potions store room.
Facing the doors, Rezna stopped and waited for the Ravenclaw girl to catch up.
"A draught of the Pepperup Potion will cure your common cold," she plainly told the girl. "I'm just-" she swallowed, fearing a hiccup was on it's way, "I don't trust myself to get it for you." The witch opened the door and nodded at rows upon rows of shelves lined with various bottles and multicolored potions.
"The Pepperup Potion is the color of a candy cane," the nurse explained. "At the far end of the main aisle, -hicc- along the wall, toward the left. There are -hicc- many of them. Just grab a vial."
While Rezna spoke, the doors to the bathrooms at the far end of the hall appeared and disappeared one right after the other. The fuschia haired witch cast a quick glance behind her, just to make sure no horrible monsters had appeared without her knowing. Making sure everything was where it should be, Rezna offered Selena a final warning.
"Please, bring me the potion to check. Don't drink anything without my approval. If you need me, call and I'll come in. I'm just afraid I'll- it's better I stay outside the room."
Multiple protective charms lay in place in the store room, in case a student broke in and decided to experiment at the risk of his own life. But they would not protect the potions within against the sorceress who put them in place if she crossed the threshold. And Rezna would not dare imagine the horrors that could happen if a spark of her magic switched the contents of one of the vials with another. She would have to re-brew every potion she ever made. Hopefully, Selena would not need her help finding the right potion. And really, how hard could it be?
.: and there are voices, that want to be heard, so much to mention, but you can't find the words; the scent of magic, the beauty that's been, when love was wilder than the wind :.
Selena listened quietly to the nurse's instructions as the woman led her into the Hospital Wing's potion storage room. The loud noises from kneazle and stone dragon made her curious but the Ravenclaw stayed quiet until she sneezed once again. The third year had not even notice the appearance and disappearance of the bathroom doors.
So it's the color of a candy cane...wondered Selena as she took a cautious step inside the storage room. Silver orbs searched the rows of potions on the left as she walked down the main aisle. Soon Selena spotted the candy-cane colored Pepperup potion but there was a problem. They were on the top shelf and she was still not tall enough to reach up and grab it.
The third considered calling Renza but she knew that the nurse didn't believe that she was safe enough to walk inside the room herself due to her magical hiccups. Then Selena remembered her own telekinetic ability that was currently held back by the golden phoenix stone pendant aroudn her neck. It won't take too long. Just this once... thought the third year to herself as she quietly unclasped the necklace while mentally preparing herself against any stray thoughts and minds in this castle.
There was a familiar weight against her mind once more and she looked up at the potion with a smile as her pendant was placed in her robe pocket. Just concentrate... Soon the potion bottle was floating in the air with careful caution on Selena's part and it didn't take long for it to reach her outstretched hands.
It was then that the third year was aware of the protective charms around the room and she quickly ran back to the entrance outside the storage room before anything can happen or be triggered. It was a miracle that she had not sneezed during the whole ordeal.
"Is this it?"asked the third year as she held up the potion for the nurse to inspect. Selena really hoped that she had grabbed the right potion. It was not too hard.

The nurse leaned against the wall and counted out the minutes that it took Selena to collect the potion. It should only have required the Ravenclaw at most three minutes to find and retrieve the right potion. So where was she? Did something go wrong? With a worried frown, Rezna peeked her head around the corner to see if she could spot the girl from the doorway. Nope. The nurse sighed with anticipation, hoping that nothing went wrong, and fell back against the wall.
As she did so, Rezna noticed something most unexpected. Slowly raising her hand, she lifted a strand of her hair to eye level, her green eyes growing larger by the second.
Why the hell was her hair pink?!?!?
The other hand quickly followed the first, grabbing a chunk of hair at the base of her neck and yanking it forward over her shoulder. This day was really turning into a nightmare. Shocked into silence, the witch looked at her fuscia hair with absolute disbelief. Of all her physical features, Rezna had always had a vain love for her long, blonde locks. Exchanging them for this punk-rock hairstyle was the last straw. Once she had the Ravenclaw cured, Rezna was locking herself in her bedroom, drinking the strongest sleeping draught she had, regardless of consequence, fully intent on waiting out her damned hiccups. Surely, the students of Firefox could survive twenty-four hours without a nurse, especially an accident-prone one like her.
A soft girl's voice broke Rezna out of her brooding. With a jump, the nurse tore her gaze from her pink hair to the potion that was held up for her inspection.
"Yup, that's the RI-RI-RI-RI-RI- RIGHACHU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The force of this particular sneeze was so strong that it threw Rezna backward. She collided loudly with the brick wall, her fuscia hair flying in front of her face, utterly obscuring her vision. With the look of a child that has just broken her mother's favorite china, the nurse pulled her hair away from her eyes to appraise the latest damage. DERP!
.: and there are voices, that want to be heard, so much to mention, but you can't find the words; the scent of magic, the beauty that's been, when love was wilder than the wind :.
((So sorry this took so long. I sorta forgot about it. Eheh. >.<'))
With her silver eyes wide, Selena watched the nurse literally fly backward and hit the brick wall because of one sneeze. However, little Selly noticed the expression on the elder woman's face and glanced around the hospital room but everything seemed okay. There had seemed to be no damaged caused from the sneeze so maybe the magic only applied for hiccups?
That thought made her giggle a bit before Selena sneezed this time with her telekinesis making her 'float' a foot above the ground before falling down on her butt. It was a miracle that she had not let go of the potion during the incident.
She had forgotten that the gold phoenix stone pendant was still inside her pocket and needed to put it back on soon. It was sad but the little Ravenclaw had grown used to hearing voices (other people's thoughts) inside her head over the years.
Selena glanced at the potion in her hand then at the nurse. "I-Is t-there a-a c-certain a-a-amount th-that I am s-supposed to d-drink?"asked the third year.
