The first day of class was an exciting day for all involved. The students were plunging into new subjects, and Professors were plunging into new students. At least Chloe was as she was a new Professor here at Firefox. The woman hoped that more than a few students would be taking Divinations as it could sometimes be seen as a soft subject. And those who didn’t even have a drop of Sight in them might find it to be useless, but she had decided to make her lessons so that even the ungifted ones would learn how to use divine energy.
Students would not find the old Divinations classroom as they had once seen it, as Chloe had taken it and made it her own. Curtains of cloth of gold hung from the windows, tied back with silver tassels. There was no blackboard in the class though she did have a desk of a warm colored wood with a comfortable chair behind it. There were a few charts on the walls of palm lines, and a globe in the back of the classroom of the stars. A few bookcases lined a wall full of books and novels both on the topic of Divination and not.
There were several round desks placed across the classroom all with cushioned chairs that faced the front. Today there were steaming teapots and teacups on each desk for the first lesson they were to have. Sunlight spilled in from the windows, making the classroom bright and alive.
Professor Vablatsky leaned against her desk, waiting for the students to arrive for their first lesson. Her robes were a flattering cream color, and along with the golden locks of her hair and the sunlight coming in she looked quite like a bright star leaning on the desk. She had dialed up the height of her neckline for the first day and the student’s sake but the bottoms of the robes were still cut around her calves and she still wore her characteristic high heels.
A dazzling white smile would await any student who came to learn the art of Divination. Hopefully they would understand enough to come in and sit down at a table in partners. Chloe was going to wait for the students to arrive before starting the lesson.
