The room was empty, save for one student whom assumed the same seat as he did during class. A staple Ravenclaw bookworm, Sam Nanten sat obediantly in his seat, reading a book he had borrowed from Morgan, which had a few interesting passages pretaining to the Patronus.
The initial joy and excitement had been replaced by surprise and curiosity. The patronus is a highly subjective charm, different in the hands of everyone whom casted it. Though they were usually considered playful and harmless aquatic creatures, they were vastly different from most oceanic creatures. They were mammals, their level of intelligence borderlined human sentience, they were often reputed for rescuing swimmers from either drowning or from being attacked by sharks. Sam hardly considered himself so valient, but this spirit was now at his side, should he ever need to defend himself from creatures of the night, Dementors, especially. He had to remember though, that from the advanced level of expertise involved in this charm, he would not be able to keep it going long. He had felt a little faint after his patronus charm dissipated, and he knew it was something he'd have to get used to.
Along with his musings, he hoped that Professor Halifirien wouldn't be too long with his grading and whatnot to address the student on the nature of his after-class stay. Not that Sam really had anywhere else he needed to be at the moment. At the least, he wasn't as worried about any sort of repremand, given that his overall participation in the class and his ability to cast such an advanced charm would hardly be worthy of punishment. It didn't help that his hints ended there, so of course it made him all the more anxious to meet with his professor.
