Novus first feared, even if it was mixed with joy, that the might have to teach all the classes at Firefox university this semester, but his hopeful mix vanished after the headmaster, Talon Windwaltz, hired a whole new band of Professors. Still, one class still did not have a Professor, Transfigurations, so Novus filled in.
Now, much to Novus’s shock, he had received a letter from Sylph O’Dell, deputy headmistress and Professor of Care of Magical Creatures. She had be apparently very ‘busy’ with something and thus was enable to teach at the moment, not wanting to leave the class vacant, she inquired of the Substitute to teach for the time being.
It had always been Novus’s dream to teach Care of Magical Creatures, and even at first was going to go to Austria only to teach that subject, but the prospect of living the war on evil in Spain interested the Italian even more. Now here he was, best of both worlds.
Along with the request was a lesson that Sylph had included, she had not told him what to do with his new charge, simply to created a educational lesson on the matter. Mused, Novus traveled down to the lake only to find something more then he could imagine.
Pacing back in forth was Novus, he had announced the class and now waited for the students to arrived down the grounds to be amazed. He wore, each piece of clothing of the finest quality and to the utmost perfection, a black silk buttoned shirt, top two buttons undone showing his muscular chest and Mediterranean tan that he was so vain about. With heavy duty jeans and black boots that looked like you could walk the Alps with, paired with perfect hair and features, Novus was quite a sight.
No matter how handsome or vain the Professor looked, he was nothing compared to what was behind him. In the background, staged right next to part of the lake was a transparent rainbow colored box. It was about fifty feet high, hundred feet deep, hundred feet wide, a eighth of it was part of the lake. Not only was the odd appearance of the box something to baffle, but the content.
The island inside looked like a cartoon! Flowers with petals the size of your hand, trees with multi colored leaves, grass perfect green, even the part of water in the lake looked like it was taken right out of a tropical reef. You wanted to just live in one of the holes in a tree, sit on giant toadstool and catch butterflies; it was like a crazy fairytale.
The creatures inside the box made the mini world looked like a dark alley in new your city. Not a single thing, absolutely nothing, in that little box was normal. There was a kangaroo, with antlers; a pretty bear with butterfly wings; something that was, oddly enough, half monkey, half rhino. Nothing seemed right! Even proportions were off, elephants the same size as dragonflies! Things that even the most well versed Ravenclaw would be clueless about.
Just staring at the box made you dizzy, and made you die of excitement waiting for Novus to tell you what was actually in there.
[OOC: First, sorry for awkward muse, ignore the odd syntax. Secondly, everyone listen, some more then others, *coughfelixcough*, no matter how smart your character is, they have no clue what these are. Unless you are a muggle students, and lets just say you know what these are IRL without googling it, then you can act like you know, but other then that, you should be clueless.]
