Whites paid attention as class started. He laughed at Lorraine's comments about Astronomy. "Yes, yes, this is very exciting." My, this girl was mysterious indeed. She deserved to be head of her house. He wasn't sure he'd ever quite met a Hufflepuff so...
Wait, what about Mama? Her mom was here, too? Whites, eager to see who her mother was, looked around. There was no one here that was old enough to be her parent, not even the professor. Huh. He decided to let it go.
He took in the information, not sure how much of it he'd retain. He'd never been one for lectures, but hey, he could manage. Besides, if these Hufflepuffs got better grades than him... He'd have to go join their house and hang his Gryffindor Pride somewhere, too.
He watched as Lorraine drew... a...
A..
A squid.
Specifically, one Mr. Squiggy the Squid.
"Pff."
He couldn't help it.
He started laughing, quietly at first, but it grew inside of him to the point where he was shaking with quiet laughter. That was-- That was the best constellation he'd ever seen. To top it off, Lorraine was followed by a cracked-out looking fellow badger, and... and she drew... What was that? Was it..
"It's the head of a Unicorn."
Oh, okay.
He had to get up. He was going to die laughing, sitting here. Finally, he spoke up, unable to hold it any longer.
"I'll... Hold on, I'll do it." He was still laughing.
Shakily he made his way up, wielding his wand. Hmm... What constellations did he know?
Oh, wait, this one was easy. He could see the shape right there, though the Unicorn Head And His Mane were also a part of it. Ah well, constellations could overlap, couldn't they?
Could they?
Whites got to work.
There. That was about right! Sure, he'd messed up a little in the middle when his laughing had gotten too much, but there it was.
"The big dipper." He said. It was a little longer and taller than he remembered, but that was okay. Stars moved, didn't they? He went back to his seat next to Lorraine, still chuckling.
"I... I like your squid." He said, grinning.
