Professor Munro was going to do something he'd never dreamed of doing before. He was going to combine both of his classes, the older and the younger, and give them both a single lesson. Of course, this was likely to be the only combined lesson he gave ever, since he preferred to keep his classes separated. Seriously, the notion of putting first years and seventh years together, giving them the same assignment, then expecting the same quality of work; the very idea was ludicrous. However, he'd been feeling quite ill of late, and he knew he needed to have at least a few more classes before the end of the term. He could take the summer to recuperate, just so long as he got through these next few weeks.
He turned on the lamp that made tiny points of light, like stars, dance across the ceiling and walls of his room. He enchanted the posters to display the planets, their moons, and the Roman gods associated with each. He moved the desks into groups of four, with a wide aisle down the middle. On one side read a sign, "First Through Third Year" on the other, one that said, "Fourth Through Seventh Year". Next to his desk was a table covered in books, again separated by age appropriateness.
On the younger side were books like Astronomy for Children, Fast Fun Facts About the Planets, and Star Child: A Book for Young Astronomers
On the older side were such books as The Zodiac Constellations, Constellations and Their Stars, and Pictures in the Sky: A guide to Constellations.
Finally, when all was prepared, Professor Munro sank into his desk chair and propped his feet up on his desk. His students were in for a treat.
