Chieko had her first night's rest and she woke up late. She was really tired from her long trip here. It's about 2:15 pm and she was just now going to the feasting hall, she'd be lucky if there was anything left for her to eat. She forced herself to wake up as she walked down the stairs yawning uncontrollably. She walked into the feasting hall and sat down at one of the long tables.
She looked around the feasting hall with sleepy eyes and only saw a few people chatting and snacking. Her mouth almost started watering when she saw someone bite into a glazed donut. She lowered her head and closed her eyes, sighing. 'So....Hungry....' Chieko thought frustrated with the whole thing. Chieko was new here and didn't know where she could get food in between meals if she missed one. She hoped someone would help her, she felt as if she was starving.
Aednat had entered the Feasting Hall, as it happened, totally unintentionally. Blue eyes took in the familiar tables and she laughed suddenly. She was pretty new to the University and had a poor sense of direction- dire, actually, if one were to be perfectly honest. She'd had no intention of coming here...but now here, perhaps she'd stay.
The petite girl scanned the room for a familiar face but her eyes lit, instead, upon a girl she'd never seen before- one who looked as though she needed a good rest.
Skipping over, Aednat took a seat beside the unfamilar student.
"Looks like you need a permanent-sticking charm for keeping those eyes open!" she laughed, the tone in her lilting Irish accent making it clear that she was joking. Despite the fact that the comment was clearly made in good humour and without a trace of meaness, howver, Aednat immediately felt a little bad. This girl was almost certainly new, and sometimes people didn't like jokes like that in this situation.
"Sorry," she said quickly, rueful notes in her voice, "I'm just joking but you might not have needed a joke right now. You look tired, that's all. Are you new? Is there anything I can do to help you? I'm Aednat Leila Meagher, Gryffindor student by the way." Both her voice and her facial expression made it clear that her offer was genuine. Even if the girl didn't need help, Aednat would be glad to make a new friend. Of course, it all depended on how the girl reacted to her initial greeting.

Chieko couldn't help but snicker at the girl's joke. No matter how tired and hungry she was, she was glad to meet someone with good spirits. She smiled at the girl with the Irish accent and replied happily. " Help would be good, heh." She said smiling nervously. "You see, I had sleep. It's just I got so much of it I missed out on breakfast. I was hoping to make it for brunch at least." She said getting hungrier just thinking of brunch.
Chieko figured she should introduce herself since it was only fair that this kind Irish stranger intorduced herself. "I'm Chieko Mui. I've only been here a few days, I'm not in a house yet or anything. Though I took the test and it said I was more of a Gryffindor." She said with a smile, not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.thread

Aednat smiled encouragingly at the other girl. She seemed nervous, but that was only to be expected, Aednat refelcted. Just because she herself rarely felt even remotely shy, she knew that it wasn't the same for others. In fact, she was well aware that she was in the minority on that one. Not that she minded. Lack of shyness made everything so much easier, in her opinion, even if it did sometimes make people think you too forward. Well, as far as Aednat was concerned, if someone passed her off as too open upon initial meetings, that was their problem.
"I'm Chieko Mui. I've only been here a few days, I'm not in a house yet or anything. Though I took the test and it said I was more of a Gryffindor."
"Well you're very welcome here, Cheiko," Aednat told the girl, smiling her almost-premanent smile once more. "I hope you do end up in Gryffindor! As I said, that's the house I'm in. It's the best house, of course. Well...I would say that, wouldn't I?! Anyway, if you do, I can help you with anything while you settle in...not that I pretend to be an expert or an old hand or anything, I'm not. But you know what I mean..."
The hungry look on Cheiko's face had not gone unnoticed by the Gryffindor, however. She looked at the empty table and then at the other students, eating food. "Um... I guess if you miss a meal and you're hungry you just tell the table you want brunch, or something...?" she said, more questioningly than anything else. That would have sounded ridiculous in the Muggle World, but heck, in the wizarding world asking inanimate objects for things was one of the most common occurences there was.
"Can we have brunch, please?" the brunette asked, and immediately the tantilising smell of scones still warm and thousands of other things reached her nose and she sniffed appreciatively. There on the table were a small selection of dishes laden with a variety of different foods but not too much of anything. There was just the right amount for two or three people. "Excellent!" she exclaimed, delighted, and grabbed a scone and a knife, immediately cutting it open and smearing butter on it so that the butter melted leaving a gorgeous yellow colour, a delicious scent and a taste that would surely be heavenly. "It wasn't that hard after all!" she grinned at Cheiko, before taking a generous bite of her scone. bg
