Dom led the boy into the feasting hall, which he was happy to finally find. He felt bad, though, for leading the boy around like a kid, and decided to let the boy catch up, so that Dom was more guiding than leading. He guided Rhory to a bench at one of the tables and sat down with the new boy, still holding his hand. He looked down at the wooden table, which was mostly empty, and wondered how the hell he was supposed to get food...
"Uh... I don't know how this works. What do you want?"
Dom knew what he wanted, both for food and fun, but he doubted the chefs would serve raw meat and the boy he was holding hands with would begin to furiously make out with him. Dom felt like a slut, now, not even thinking about Orca or Sparky, whom he had clearly had feelings for. Maybe that time was past, though?
Then, the most amazing thing happened. A plate of steaks, cooked rare, appeared right in front of him. Maybe the chefs knew about his... condition. He just shrugged it off. He was ready to tuck into the pile of meat, but he didn't want to be rude. He had to make sure Rhory had something, too.
"Uh... I think these are mine. Just... think about what you want, I guess? Or maybe say it? I don't know."
Dom blushed. He had no clue, really, how the food had appeared, and felt bad that he couldn't make the other boy's food appear, too. He squeezed Rhory's hand, softly, and smiled. Maybe food would just appear for him, too, and settle the mystery.

Rhory was guided to the Feasting Hall, it was nice. And what everyone was eating smelled delightful. Well, almost everything. Dom admitted that he didn't know how to get food after they had taken a seat. Was he serious? How could e have been a student of the school and not know? Rhory raised his eyebrow and stared at him for a brief second. Suddenly, in front of the guide appeared a pile of large raw steaks.
The herbivore stared at it half horrified. He could feel the blood drain from his face. Rhory ran his fingers through his hair and pinned his bangs back for a moment. Dom confirmed that those were his and just told him to think about what he wanted. Rhory knew that meals were about willpower magic. It worked the same way at his old school. But all he could think about was those juicy dead cow chunks on Dom's plate. He released his hair and it all fell back into his eyes. Rhory was in desperate need of a haircut.
Completely to his surprise the same order of steak appeared to him. He pulled his hand from Dom's, a plausible excuse, and used both hands to push the plate away.
Rhory didn't mean to, but he shuddered. He swallowed hard and then thought of what he really wanted. To his right a small cup of granola with a dab of vanilla yogurt popped up. To his left was an iced strawberry butterbeer and to his front was plate with scrambled tofu and pumpkin scones. He was happy. So, he couldn't complain that Dom was eating meat, especially raw meat. It didn't stop him from starring though.
Rhory looked for his utensils, but they were already in his hands. He had to not stare. It was creepy. He stuck a spoon in he granola and consumed it much quicker that he thought normal. From there he sipped his butterbeer and took small bites of his tofu and scones. The magical forces behind the cooking had done a divine job. Rhory was pleased even though he was a bit sick. Shoving food in his face; driving the nausea backward was a good plan.
Dom was amazed at how little meat there was in the boys order. No wonder the kid was so pale. Dom considered, for a moment, offering one of his steaks to the boy, but he wondered for a fleeting moment if, perhaps, the boy was one of those vegetarians. Being a lycan, Dom never even thought of going veg...
He picked up one of his steaks, brought it to his mouth, and stopped. It was clear that the meat was disturbing his new friend, and he didn't want to make it worse by devouring the raw steaks right in front of him. So, Dom, ever the selfless being he was, took his plate of steaks and put them on top of Rhory's dejected plate. The two plates almost instantly disappeared, unwanted.
"I'm sorry. I could tell that you were uncomfortable. It's just... I sorta... I'm sorry."
Dom blushed again. He wanted to tell the boy he was a lycan, but didn't think it was a good idea. If the boy was scared of steaks, he would be scared of something that eats live animals quite often. Stupid disease. Dom stared at the wood in front of him and thought hard about eating something, just not something that rare...
And up popped several dishes. One was a plate filled with red beans and rice, steaming hot with some fresh mozerella sliced on top, melting. Another plate had two slices of pita bread with a bowl of hummus between them. Then, another dish was a bowl of fresh berries, ones that could be found in the forest outside. Finally there was a glass of water. Dom smiled at Rhory.

{ooc: Mmm, hummus.}
Rhory's mouth held more food than it should have but he couldn't bring himself to swallow it. He eyed the raw meat and knew he had to try. Rhory swallowed hard. Too hard. It was rather dry and he could feel the hard lump of smashed food slowly make its way to his stomach. He grabbed his butterbeer and chugged half of it, so that he would not choke to death. He slammed his drink back on the table. A second later he saw both plates of steak disappear. Rhory was shocked for a moment, he hoped it wasn't his will that made them disappear.
Then after a disjointed apology he felt a little better. At least Rhory hadn't done it. Rhory saw Dom's face redden but that only brought guilt. A moment later a whole new set of food appeared. It was made of various meatless substances. His guilt deepened. Dom didn't seem very happy, he asked Rhory if is food selection was better.
Rhory didn't know what to say. His didn't seem fair and he never really liked it when people, especially almost strangers, did him favors. Rhory's expression wasn't correct for the situation. He looked upset and angry even though he felt guilty. The dark haired boy shrugged and replied, "Sure". His voice came off more monotone than he intended but it wasn't like he could go back and change it.
And awkward amount of time passed and Rhory was almost done with his food. He focused on his granola and yogurt more. Using his spoon and scooped around the edges and put the food past his lips. Finally, his gray eyes made their way back to his breakfast companion. "Why were they raw? Isn't that unhealthy?", he asked abruptly. For some reason he could drop the raw aspect of the meat. Sure, he knew people who liked steak and like it rare just not... freshly dead and thrown on a plate.
Dom had began picking at his non-meat feast before him and, oddly enough, found alot of it to be quite okay. Actually, when he reached the hummus, he was really digging into the food. His stomach seemed to get more hungry as he ate, and soon his plates were having to refill themselves. A good month or two without eating will do that to a Lycan.
Speaking of Lycan, he had tried to put off the question by just eating. What possible excuse could he make for eating steaks raw? Low Iron? Low Protein? Low Raw Meatage? Finally, when he gulped down his glass of water, he faced the boy next to him.
"Umm..." Dom stumbled through excuses, wondering if maybe he should just tell the truth..."I... I'm... I have extremely low iron. I guess the chefs were just playing a joke on me?"
He hoped in the back of his mind that Rhory wasn't a nutritionist. If he was, Dom reasoned he would be in a bit of a jam. And, speaking of jam, he plopped his finger into a small bowl of the sticky sweet substance laid out next to a bagel and brought it to his mouth, first licking it off and then sucking on his finger. Mmmm, sugar.
"So," Dom continued, after removing his finger from his mouth, "what house are you in? I was in Ravenclaw, and I still sleep up there. Ras got me the last bed in the tower. It's in a pretty small room off from the boys dorm. I think it used to be a storage closet, but the bed is nice."
Dom smiled again and repeated eating the jam. He hadn't had something that sweet in ages. The berries from his previous set of dishes were sweet, but not in the same way as the jam. This jam was clearly made with tons of sugar, and if there was one thing Dom liked more than raw meat, it was sugar.
