OOC: Opposite day.
For the last few years, Dale focused heavily on two things: school, and becoming an animagus. When he had no homework and now classes, he was studying transfiguration, and dinosaurs, hoping he could break the rule that an animal chooses the wizard, not the reverse.
This did not change when he returned to FFU earlier in the month. It was still all he ever did.
He also had a tendency to avoid people. He did not try to make friends, because he knew that nobody could ever really like him, which was why he woke up to eat breakfast very early. Nobody would want to bother him because they would not get up so early.
For some reason, however, one morning as he was about to get up, he found he couldn't. He felt the same drowsiness he always felt when he woke up, but somehow it was keeping him in bed today. And so, he allowed himself to sleep longer. When the time most students would be waking up came, the drowsiness had not gone away, but now that there would be many students eating breakfast in the Feasting Hall. Dale realized somewhere in his mind that this was strange, but he didn't care.
As he began to gather his usual things, including the supplies he would need for today's classes and the books he was using to study to be an animagus, he realized what a heavy load he'd been carrying. Suddenly, he did not want to heave all this things around the school. In fact, why bother with those silly books of transfiguration and dinosaurs? There had never been any chance whatsoever of achieving this dream. He could leave those behind. In fact, he didn't feel at all like carrying anything at all today.
He was about to make his way to the feasting hall, but realized he was wearing gray clothes. His normal garments which he always insisted on wearing now disgusted him. It was so bland! He needed something colourful. He drew his wand and pointed it at himself, thought briefly and the grey was replaced with royal blue. Satisfied with this, he started to the feasting hall, saying, "hello" and waving to several people on the way.
He sat down at the Ravenclaw table, eager to start a new day.
