If there was one day of the year Morgan loved above all other days, it was Halloween. Really, what wasn't to love about it? You got to dress as riduculously as you liked, and people gave you candy to do so. Not to mention that she only had one more after this year where she'd be underage. The fifteen and a half year old made her way down to the Feasting Hall two hours before dinner started. No one should be in there now, and as she walked through the doors, she was pleased to note she'd been correct. She smirked, this was going to be good.
The Ravenclaw stepped back to admire her work. The hall looked spectacular. The four long student tables were each decked out in a different color table cloth, and each had diferently themed center pieces atop it every so often. The Ravenclaw table had a purple tablecloth, and their centerpieces were of a vampire motif. Hufflepuff was black and had a distinctive 'what muggles think of wizards' theme. Gryffindor was orange and had a pumpkin patch theme, and Slytherin sported an acid green cloth and ghost/zombie themed centerpieces.
From the celling, thousands of illusionry bats hung, flew and swooped. Pumpkins floated in the air, each one carved with the mascot of one of the four houses and containing a candle, with which to illuminate the hall. The teacher's table had elements of all four house tables, but it's cloth was white. Also, at each place, was a present wrapped in the traditional orange and black. Along the middle of the table, between the centerpieces was an assorment of wizard and Muggle sweets.
Grinning from ear to ear, Morgan thought it was time to don her own costume. She pointed her wand at herself and in an instant, her school robes were substituted with a poufy, lavender dress with a low back. Her scar showed for a second, but she covered it with an illusion of purple buterfly wings sprouting from her back. Her long, pale hair twisted itself into an elegant updo, and showcased an expensive, but tasteful tiara that resembled leaves and vines fashioned from siver and diamonds. She was going to be a faerie princess. She stuck out one of her small, sleder feet. On it sparkled a high-heeled shoe made of what looked like lavender tinted glass.
She was ready, she'd sent out invitations to every student she could think of. They had said the time and place, and that it was a costume party. With any luck, this should be a really fun night.
